‘You’re fired’: The people Trump has sacked since taking office

President Donald Trump took over the White House less than a month ago, and in keeping with his reality television show catchphrase from The Apprentice – “You’re Fired” – he has already removed more than 200 employees.

Some amount of turnover is typical for a new administration, but Trump has made massive changes during his first weeks in office. He offered buyouts to millions of government workers and put a stop to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) programmes.

On Friday, Trump fired the nation’s top record keeper, US Archivist Colleen Shogan.

For some it is a shock to see a President do what he was elected to do.

Trump Is Changing the World Order With Unprecedented Speed

… Undocumented immigrants in some communities are skipping work and keeping their children home from school on concerns about Trump’s efforts to ramp up deportations. In Dallas, teachers are reporting to their labor union that some students have stopped attending classes, particularly at high schools, said Rena Honea, president of Alliance/AFT, the largest teachers’ union in Dallas. At one area high school, just under half of students were absent on Monday, for a total of roughly 900 who stayed home, one teacher said.

Trump: I won’t deport Prince Harry – he’s got enough problems with Meghan

Prince Harry can breathe freely in Montecito, because President Donald Trump has ruled out deporting the self-exiled British royal.

Harry’s immigration status is the subject of litigation in Washington DC, with the Heritage Foundation alleging that he may have concealed past illegal drug use that should have disqualified him from obtaining a US visa.

But the president told The New York Post Friday that he isn’t interested in throwing Harry out of the country.

Trump to Sic DOGE on Bloated Pentagon?

Since that epic ride down the golden escalator, Donald Trump’s slaughtered a lot of permanent Washington’s sacred cows in his time, but this one has to take the cake.

In the Bush era, a Republican — or a Democrat — of any standing floating the idea of targeting the bloated Pentagon would have rendered him or her persona non grata, engendering denunciations of alleged secret al-Qaeda sympathies and all kinds of nonsense from the War of Terror days.

Leftist Echo Chamber Bluesky Laments Trump Takeover of Kennedy Center

Liberals collectively lamented President Donald Trump’s takeover of the Kennedy Center via their Bluesky social media network.

Several users responded to Trump’s announcement on Truth Social that he had cleaned house at the Kennedy Center and terminated “multiple individuals from the Board of Trustees,” and had named himself the chairman, by expressing that they felt it was “beyond parody.”

The Kennedy Center was hosting drag shows.

How Japan sparked Trump’s 40-year love affair with tariffs

When Donald Trump’s fortunes took a downturn in the 90s and he needed to raise cash fast, he sailed his 282ft (85m) superyacht, the Trump Princess, to Asia hoping he could attract Japan’s wealthy.

It wasn’t the first time the businessman had sought out Japanese buyers or lenders for his projects.

In the cut-throat world of New York real estate, Trump had a front-row seat from his Fifth Avenue skyscraper of Tokyo’s buying spree in the 80s of iconic US brands and properties, including Rockefeller Center.

DOGE has gained access to FEMA’s sensitive disaster data

Elon Musk’s agents have gained access to FEMA’s sensitive disaster data

FEMA officials raised concerns that Trump could soon follow through on his pledge to dismantle the agency responsible for funding disaster relief.

Less than two weeks after President Donald Trump said his administration would consider making the Federal Emergency Management Agency “go away,” representatives of Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency were at the agency and reviewing the grant programs it uses to help communities prepare for and respond to disasters, according to four current and two former FEMA officials.

The presence of DOGE at FEMA has caused uncertainty and confusion, raising fears that Trump could soon follow through on his pledge to dismantle the agency, as his administration is doing with the U.S. Agency for International Development.

Under Biden FEMA abandoned North Carolina. As soon as Trump was able he ordered all hands to come to that beleaguered state’s aid.

Follow this guy for the sorry FEMA saga that Trump is setting right.

Trump announces task force to end ‘anti-Christian bias’

Donald Trump unveiled a task force to root out “anti-Christian bias” in government as he accused his predecessor Joe Biden of “persecuting” Christians during his presidency.

Speaking at two events in Washington for the annual National Prayer Breakfast, Trump announced a string of initiatives, including a presidential commission on religious liberty and a White House “faith office”.

‘If you genuinely think Trump is a fascist, go and have a lie down’

The Roman salute, the Sieg Heil, the YMCA dance. The comparison is so absurd it practically debunks itself.

Anyone who genuinely thinks that Trump’s America – whatever else you might think of the man or his policies – can be mentioned in the same breath as fascist Italy or Nazi Germany needs to get a grip.

Because let’s be clear about what we are talking about here. Fascism, and especially its Nazi incarnation, was an evil the like of which the world had never seen before. Or, thankfully, since.

Weasel NATO members lead by Germany considering war against USA should Trump attempt to seize Greenland

Nato countries discuss sending troops to Greenland after Trump threats

Nato countries have discussed deploying troops to Greenland in response to Donald Trump threatening to use the US military to seize the Danish island.

Germany was among dozens of European allies understood to have held informal talks over “what Nato troops would do” if the US president followed through on his threats, diplomatic sources told The Telegraph.

Questions were even raised over whether Article 5, the Western military alliance’s mutual defence clause, could be invoked in the event of an American invasion of a fellow Nato member state.

‘Environmental Justice’ Is the Latest Biden-Era Initiative To Be Purged by Trump Administration

“Environmental justice” appears to be the latest Biden-era initiative on the chopping block as 168 employees of the Environmental Protection Agency’s environmental justice and civil rights office were put on administrative leave on Thursday.

The move comes as President Trump works to purge the government of “radical and wasteful” diversity, equity, and inclusion programs.

Smashing the ‘rice bowls’ — how elites are lashing out at Trump and Musk’s reforms

Philosopher Eric Hoffer once wrote, “Nothing is so unsettling to a social order as the presence of a mass of scribes without suitable employment and an acknowledged status.”

As President Trump, Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency get on with their business of trimming waste, fraud, abuse and graft from the federal budget — a business that is vitally important, given the government’s parlous financial outlook — they need to keep this in mind.

Less than two weeks in, DOGE teams poring over federal spending records are discovering all sorts of problems.

How Fentanyl Became Central to Trump’s Tariffs

President Trump has declared that the illegal transit into the U.S. of migrants and drugs, chiefly fentanyl, is a national emergency, and he has targeted Mexico, Canada and China with tariffs to force them to halt the flow.

How fentanyl became part of the tariff equation comes down to the production and smuggling of an opioid that has caused the overdose deaths of hundreds of thousands of Americans.

The U.S. has long pressured Mexico, by far the main source of fentanyl, to do more to halt the drug’s production and export, and the money-laundering activities that are vital to the drug trade. Canada entered the picture because of the growing presence of Mexican cartels there.
