Conrad Black: What a Trump Presidency Means for Canada

Contrary to widely expressed fears in Canada, there is plenty of room for the Canadian government of either major party to work cooperatively with the new American administration on most fronts. A couple of months ago, I had occasion to ask then-candidate Donald Trump whether Canada had anything to fear if he were elected. He said: “Your trade negotiators are better than ours, but all I’m asking is fair trade which is not a big problem with Canada.” He added that he knows the country well, has done lots of business here, and has nothing but liking and goodwill for Canada.

John Ivison: Trudeau already has Trump irritated. He might soon make it worse

Donald Trump reportedly described Justin Trudeau as a “behind-your-back guy,” after the two fell out over tariffs during the president-elect’s first term in office.

As Trudeau continues to languish in domestic opinion polls, he may be tempted to reprise his role as the “behind your back guy” by attempting to appease the president on trade and security to his face, while sub rosa, using him as a warning about what Canadians can expect if they elect the Conservatives.

Trump announces Tom Homan will serve as ‘border czar’

If anybody thought that Trump was just running for president to avoid prosecution (yes, a lot of Democrats did believe that!), his initial moves as president-elect should dispel that notion and put them on notice that he intends to win bigly.

Catholic Bishops Stumble on Immigration

America’s Catholic bishops are giving President-elect Donald Trump a mixed reception ahead of his second term. Following Trump’s overwhelming victory in Tuesday’s election, Archbishop Timonthy Broglio, head of the Military Archdiocese and president of the U.S. Catholic Bishops’ Conference (USCCB), issued a statement congratulating the 45th and 47th President on his victory.

Article No. 473 In The Star’s ‘No One I Know Voted For “TrumpHitler” Series’

All the president’s men: Donald Trump’s support from the manosphere is clear, even if it’s confounding

What do a mixed martial arts promoter, social-media stars, an attempted assassin, and a golfing legend’s genitalia have in common?

They all played some role in securing Donald Trump’s re-election.

Trump’s ability to win over men — particularly younger white and Latino men — was key to his successful campaign.

With the votes now counted, the influence of the manosphere — and Trump’s ability to appeal to traditional concepts of masculinity — in sending Trump back to Washington is coming clear, even if it is confounding.

The backtracking and grovelling by Trump’s biggest critics

Not since a “hot mic” caught David Cameron discussing Queen Elizabeth’s verdict on Scottish independence has there been so much backpedalling by high-profile politicians.

In the wake of Donald Trump’s victory in the US election this week, a host of Left-wingers and other leaders who castigated him in the past – probably assuming he was more likely to go to jail than return to the White House – have been rushing out statements, congratulating the Republican on his sensational win and saying how much they cannot wait to work with him.

There are warning signs for Justin Trudeau and Pierre Poilievre in Donald Trump’s win

OTTAWA—Don’t let anyone tell you the re-election of Donald Trump is not a jolt to Canada’s political landscape. Or that we’ve been there, done that.

The fallout is about to overwhelm the Canadian government’s agenda for the next four years.

More random TDS ….Thing is TDS is really the same response by the Liberal-Left to any politician they declare to be right of Pol Pot maybe just a bit more whiny.

Donald Trump ‘could make huge UFO announcement within weeks’ after becoming president

Donald Trump’s second presidency could have a “seismic” effect when it comes to UFO disclosure – potentially revealing that the US government really has had contact with one or more extraterrestrial civilisations.

That’s according to Nick Pope who, for many years, was in charge of analysing UFO reports for the UK’s Ministry of Defence. Maverick billionaire Trump has seized an overwhelming victory in the 2024 US elections.

FBI thwarts Iranian murder-for-hire plan targeting Donald Trump

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Justice Department unsealed criminal charges Friday in a thwarted Iranian plot to kill President-elect Donald Trump before this week’s presidential election.

A criminal complaint filed in federal court in Manhattan alleges that an unnamed official in Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard instructed a contact this past September to put together a plan to surveil and ultimately kill Trump.

Donald Trump’s win is an unmistakable cry of rebellion

The election of Donald Trump is a shout across the American stage, an unmistakable cry of rebellion, a clear expression of political revolt – and an event, embraced by his loyal base but decried by his ardent opponents, that injects an inimitable character of chaos into the leadership of a country that is in a chaotic search for its character.

Hegel called Napoleon after his triumph at the 1806 Battle of Jena “the world spirit on horseback.” Mr. Trump is the world populist spirit in a red ball cap.

I like the PPC and will likely vote for them but Canada has no Trump with a chance of winning.

Poilievre is an establishment politician who I am afraid will not move the needle much on key issues such mass immigration.

Time will tell of course but we do not have much left.

The outright racism of Team Kamala had to have had an impact much greater than the media is willing to discuss.

Donald Trump and the revenge of the deplorables

So now we know what happens when you sneer at voters as ‘garbage’. When you view them as ‘deplorables’. When you treat them as the dim stooges of demagoguery, the playthings of powerful men. When you brand them ‘low information’ and chortle in your coffee houses about how Donald Trump is ‘preying’ on their ‘hazy understanding’ of political affairs. What happens is that they don’t vote for you.

One big winner of the U.S. election: Justin Trudeau

As Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump piled-up the votes last night, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau must have been pinching himself in anticipation. For months, Trudeau and his PMO palace guard will have followed the U.S. presidential race polls more closely than most. Despite the whispers to the Star’s Ottawa Bureau, I’m dubious that the Liberals actually preferred a Kamala Harris victory.

How so? Trump’s political rebirth presents our Prime Minister with a career-saving opportunity: Trudeau gets to spend the next eleven months playing the delicious role of Escamillo, the brave bullfighting Toreador from Bizet’s timeless opera Carmen.

It is shocking how our regime typists underestimate the contempt held for Trudeau by the great unwashed.

Nuke The View! – Trump promised to get revenge. Here are his targets.

Donald Trump ran a campaign based on retribution. Now he is perfectly positioned to carry it out.

For years, Trump has peppered his speeches and social media posts with vengeful calls for his political opponents, his critics and members of the media to be prosecuted, locked up, deported and even executed. In the waning weeks of the 2024 campaign, he escalated those promises of retaliation to a fever pitch.

Now that he’s won, he has both a popular mandate — and the power — to begin implementing his platform of punishment.
