Allan Stratton: Next to the left, Danielle Smith is a voice of sanity on gender

I’m a gay man on the liberal left who was raised in the 1960s. I am fully aware of the fear and dangers of outing, the mental health issues faced by LGB and T communities around stigma and demonization and the hard-won battles we fought for our civil rights and social acceptance. Yet I’m baffled by the hysterical reaction to Alberta Premier Danielle Smith’s quite reasonable policies for minors who announce as trans.

Pierre Poilievre defends Alberta Premier Smith on transgender policies

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre defended Alberta Premier Danielle Smith and her approach to transgender issues Tuesday, saying the Liberal government and the media have demonized her for policies that would give parents more say over their kids.

Speaking to reporters at a press conference on car theft in Montreal, Poilievre said the Liberal government is “spreading disinformation” about what Smith has proposed.

“If you keep it vague and you actually refrain from describing the policies Premier Smith is putting in place, you think you can misrepresent them and misrepresent conservatives,” he said.

Danielle Smith and child sex organ mutilaton fetishist Liberals trade shots over transgender policies during her trip to Ottawa

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith faced an icy reception in Ottawa Monday as a Liberal cabinet minister from her province called her proposed transgender policies “reckless” and “irresponsible” and left the door open to a court challenge.

Speaking to reporters shortly before Smith opened her province’s new office in Ottawa, Employment Minister Randy Boissonnault said he’s prepared to fight what he called “the most draconian and harmful policies for young people in the country.”

Referring to proposed policies that would demand that some Alberta trans kids get parental consent to use their preferred names and pronouns in school, Boissonnault said Smith is intent on “forcing kids out of the closet before many of them are ready.”

Anthony Furey: The Unreasonable Reaction to Danielle Smith’s Reasonable Proposal

The extreme vilification of anyone who has concerns with gender transition as it relates to children is a very bizarre phenomenon. The people engaging in the vilification are totally disconnected from reality.

The latest round of this panic began when Alberta Premier Danielle Smith announced restrictions on gender reassignment surgeries and related procedures for minors. These include a ban on such surgeries for those under 18 years of age and also prohibits the use of puberty blockers and hormone therapy for youth 15 and under.

Amy Hamm: The gender activists are the ones spreading division

Last November, the Post ran a column by transwoman Julia Malott who allegedly supports my right to free expression but simultaneously believes that my “persona” has devolved and that I’ve become divisive and resentful. The devolution, she wrote, occurred during my three-year-and-counting legal battle with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives over my political speech on women’s rights and the binary nature of human sex.

Get a load of this melodramatic loon.

Despite Talk of Parental Rights, Ontario Schools Still Keep Gender Changes Secret

While Ontario Education Minister Stephen Lecce and Premier Doug Ford have both said parents should be informed when their children are transitioning genders at school, the province’s school boards have continued with policies that parents should not be informed.

“To date, not one Ontario school board has adopted a policy to require parental involvement in these sensitive interventions,” Julia Malott, a transgender person vocally in favour of parental rights, wrote in an op-ed for the National Post on Jan. 21.

Ford may be in for a rude awakening if he keeps this crap up.

Jamie Sarkonak: Danielle Smith brings reason in the face of hysterical gender activists

Premier Danielle Smith isn’t taking the easy route in Alberta when it comes to gender policy, but she’s taking the right one. On Wednesday, she announced that the province will introduce age restrictions on gender hormone treatments and surgeries and require schools to obtain parental consent to socially transition students aged 15 and under. Sex-education will become opt-in and sex-based sport protections will be explored, as well. The changes will come about through a mix of policy and law, advanced likely around the fall, according to a statement from the premier’s office.

Federal justice minister accuses Alberta Premier Danielle Smith of ruining their good time grooming kids for sexual mutilation thrills

Federal justice minister accuses Alberta Premier Danielle Smith of ‘demonizing’ trans kids

Federal Justice Minister Arif Virani said Thursday he has serious reservations about a suite of measures Alberta Premier Danielle Smith is about to introduce to curb access to certain transgender health services for kids and ban gender-diverse people from some sporting events.

Speaking to reporters on Parliament Hill, Virani said Smith’s promised measures amount to “targeting and demonizing” trans children.

“I have significant concerns about that,” the Toronto-area minister said. “I think targeting that small minority for some political reasons, as it seems the premier is doing, is not becoming of her office.”

Boy, 4, allowed to join Church of England school as a girl

Ministers pledge to intervene after parents claim the child’s sex was hidden from classmates, who were traumatised to learn the truth

A Church of England primary school allowed a four-year-old boy to join as a girl, The Telegraph can reveal.
The child’s sex was hidden from classmates, who were described by parents as traumatised when they found out.

One of the parents of a child who was friends with the “trans” girl, told The Telegraph that the school has “robbed” her daughter of her childhood, as she struggled to come to terms with learning her friend is not a girl and that teachers “lied” to her about it.

‘MrBeast’ Normalizes Transgenderism

When Bruce Jenner announced to ABC’s Diane Sawyer that he identified as a woman in April 2015, it was a global tipping point for the transgender movement. Nearly 17 million people watched, and headlines, newscasts, and the internet exploded in its wake. Jenner, after all, is a member of the Kardashian clan, one of the wealthiest and most famous reality show families in the world. As one commentator observed, after Jenner’s interview, everyone knew a transgender person. The follow-up reality show I Am Cait, an LGBT activist noted, “put trans on the lips of everyone in the world.”

Megyn Kelly slammed Joy Reid after the MSNBC host criticized the co-founder of Moms for Liberty for advocating banning a book featuring graphic sex from schools.

The host of ‘The Megyn Kelly Show’ – who called Reid an ‘idiot’ on X following the interview – said ‘I don’t know what Joy Reid is thinking’ and called her criticism of Moms For Liberty Co-Founder Tiffany Justice ‘so frustrating.’

‘I don’t want to know about Joy Reid’s weird sexual predilections or what she thinks is okay content for minors, but it’s not the same as what I think,’ she said.

Jamie Sarkonak: ‘Trans-affirming toolkit’ tells teachers to put ideology above biology

Wall of Transgender Heroines

Schools are a provincial matter, but that doesn’t mean the federal government won’t stick its fingers in where it can to drive a social agenda in the classroom. The latest instance? A new, federally-funded, “Trans-Affirming Toolkit” for teachers loaded with poor scholarship and ideological preaching.

Julia Malott: Rife with gender politics, Ontario schools sorely need Lecce to lead

Ontario’s school boards reached a flashpoint in gender identity politics in 2023, a decisive shift in the public education landscape from just a few years prior. Controversies spanned issues of LGBT library books, teacher dress codes, Pride flag displays and the contentious topic of social transition without parental consent or knowledge. Frustration over these issues (and the school boards’ frequent refusal to address them) eventually culminated in the country-wide Million March for Children protest at the end of September.
