When it comes to the issue of gender identity being taught in schools, the “battle” lines have been drawn and war has been declared.
Organized labour has mustered a counter-protest of the Million Person March for Children which is set for Wednesday in Toronto, Ottawa and other cities. That has set some people off, especially Kamel El-Cheikh, the organizer of the part of the protest in Ottawa which is being called the Ottawa Hands off Our Kids rally.
On Thursday night, September 14th, an elementary school in the French-speaking Belgian municipality of Charleroi was set on fire—the sixth school to suffer that fate in just two days.
Investigators suspect that the fires can be traced back to negative reactions to a decree—approved earlier that week—on sex education lessons in schools in Wallonia and Brussels.
Under the so-called ‘Evras’ (Éducation à la Vie Relationnelle, Affective et Sexuelle) decree, for two hours each year, French-speaking pupils (in the sixth grade of primary school, ages 11-12, and fourth grade of secondary school, ages 15-16) have to be taught about sexuality, relationships and emotions.
Though Democrats have blamed conservative Republicans for the growing outcry from the Muslim community over the radical LGBTQ agenda being forced on children in public schools, the belief still exists among woke leftists that if they continue to play nice they can coexist with—and win over—devoutly religious, socially conservative Muslims who have become disaffected with Democratic Party.

Recent litigation points to parents’ rising frustrations with gender and sexuality curricula in public schools.
With active litigation on both coasts embroiling school districts in controversies over gender and sexuality issues, this academic year promises major battles in American public education.
First came a decision from the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals, which reviewed a Maryland case in which parents challenged Montgomery County Public Schools’ “Guidelines for Gender Identity.” The guidelines feature a “gender support plan for students,” which includes “affirming” a child’s preferred name, pronouns, and other gender-related preferences, and authorizes schools to “withhold information about the plans from parents if the school deems the parents to be unsupportive.” Under longstanding Supreme Court doctrine that gives parents a constitutional right to raise their children, the parents sued.
