A fight over a school curriculum has made strange bedfellows of Muslims, Christians, and Latter-Day Saints.
On Thursday, a Maryland district court sent a clear message to parents at Montgomery County Public Schools: you don’t get a say in what your kids read at school.
Or more specifically, as the court concluded, a parent’s right to opt out of a public school curriculum that “conflicts with their religious views is not a fundamental right.”
Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe says parents themselves are the “leading experts” on their children as the government faces criticism for a new policy requiring parental consent to change a child’s pronouns or gender identity at school.
“I’ve been asked what experts we consulted in creating the Parental Inclusion and Consent policy. I believe the leading experts in children’s upbringing are their parents,” said Mr. Moe on the social media platform X on Aug. 27.

About 150 demonstrators who oppose LGBTQ+ education marched on Monday from City Hall to the Los Angeles Unified School District headquarters, where two counterprotesters were taken into custody as dozens of officers kept the opposing groups apart after heated exchanges.
The demonstrators came from across Southern California including San Diego, Antelope Valley, Glendale and Los Angeles. A few identified themselves as parents at Saticoy Elementary School, where fighting broke out between opposing sides during a demonstration over a Gay Pride activity in June.

Transgender Assistant Secretary of Health Rachel Levine has claimed children can go through ‘the wrong puberty.’
Levine, 65, endorsed providing gender-affirming care to minors, arguing that the treatment options are ‘evidence-based.’

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau blamed the “American right-wing” for Canadian Muslims’ opposition to gender ideology and LGBTQ curriculum in K-12 education.
The video was of Trudeau speaking with the Muslim community last week at a Calgary mosque – Baitun Nur Mosque – after hundreds of protesters rallied against gender ideology in schools, chanting “Leave our kids alone.”
The frustration reached a boiling point after audio surfaced of an Edmonton Public Schools teacher berating Muslim students for skipping school in order to avoid pride events.
