Power-Hungry Politicians & A Submissive Populace Have Turned Our Rights Into Easily-Revoked Privileges

Time and time again, we’ve watched as a ‘return to normal’ is dangled in front of the populace, then pulled away the moment it’s about to take place.

I’ve written repeatedly about how those in power continuously move the goalposts, and clearly don’t actually want to give up their heightened level of control.

Whenever a new opportunity to spread fear comes up, politicians seize it immediately, ramp up the fear as much as they can, and then attempt to keep their expanded power in place regardless of the underlying reality.

A constitutional cure for COVID-19

Covid, Covid, Covid. Variant, variant, variant. Trust me, I’m the government’s highest paid employee, and “I represent science.” Show your papers, wear a mask, take a shot or lose your job. And the beat goes on for an infection where 99.95% of infected persons under age 70 years recover. It’s becoming clear that COVID-19 is not merely a disease but an excuse to concentrate power in the government.

The great nudge

When we think of oppressive regimes, we immediately think of the Stalinist model portrayed in Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four, the heavy-handed thought control associated with Hitler’s Reich or Mao’s China. But where the old propaganda was loud, crude and often lethal, the contemporary style of thought control takes the form of a gentle nudging towards orthodoxy – a gentle push that gradually closes off one’s critical faculties and leads one to comply with gently given directives. Governments around the world, including in the UK, notes the Guardian, have been embracing this approach with growing enthusiasm.

Your Driver’s License Will Become a Vaccine Passport

Little by little, it’s becoming easier and more convenient to “present your papers” upon request. You’re accustomed to keeping your driver’s license with you, but states are increasingly rolling out digitized versions that “go way beyond what a driver’s license is about.”1 Arizona, for instance, released a mobile driver’s license (mDL) app in March 2021, and Eric Jorgensen, director of the motor vehicle division of Arizona’s Department of Transportation, told Government Technology.
