President Trump Was Acquitted, But Impeachment Was a Distraction

President Trump Was Acquitted, But Impeachment Was a Distraction

Like the Russia hoax, impeachment was a false pretext for a national security emergency.

The Democrat impeachment case against President Trump began with the false claim that “President Trump incited a violent mob to attack the United States Capitol during the Joint Session” and concluded with the false claim that he had engaged in “insurrection or rebellion.”

In between these two false claims lay a multitude of lies, misstatements of law, exaggerations of events, false conclusions, and fundamental attacks on our entire political system.

Trump Fought the Swamp and the Swamp Won

Trump Fought the Swamp and the Swamp Won

Even more effective than breaking the rules is changing them in your favor.

“The Resistance was great for business” is the engaging title of a recent article by Byron York.

York’s story is about how the founders of the Lincoln Project, rabidly anti-Trump Republicans, allegedly used millions in donations from their unsuspecting supporters to feather their own nests. I use the word “allegedly” advisedly; I don’t know the facts and I am old-fashioned enough to try to avoid falsely accusing someone in print, even if they are “public figures” and thus fair game under modern libel law.

Inside the Lincoln Project’s ‘toxic’ workplace: Accusations of sexual harassment and a culture of infighting

The Lincoln Project’s launch in late 2019 was designed to make a splash.

“We are Republicans, and we want Trump defeated,” four of its co-founders wrote in The New York Times. The organization would go on to raise nearly $90 million for its stated mission of defeating Donald Trump and Trumpism at the ballot box in 2020.

Pelosi Announces Independent 9/11-Style Commission to Investigate Capitol Riot

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) stated that Congress will establish an independent, Sept. 11, 2001-style commission to look at the riot at the Capitol on Jan. 6.

“It is clear from his findings and from the impeachment trial that we must get to the truth of how this happened,” she said in a statement on Monday. “To protect our security, our security, our security, our next step will be to establish an outside, independent 9/11-type Commission to ‘investigate and report on the facts and causes’” of the riot.

‘Plenty of evidence’ Nancy Pelosi knew and did nothing about January 6 riots

Sky News host Paul Murray says Speaker Nancy Pelosi did not want to be called as a witness in the impeachment trial because there is a “substantial amount of evidence” that she was pre-warned about the January 6 riots.

“She did not want to be called as a witness because there is a substantial amount of evidence that she – as the presiding officer – was pre-warned of something might be happening on January 6,” Mr Murray said.

”There is plenty of evidence to suggest that she was not doubling down on security that day, and the former boss of the Capitol Police would have testified to that very point”.

It’s Been One Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Week For The Democratic Party

It has been one tough week for the left.

Impeachment for political theatre was squashed, the Never Trump Lincoln Project further imploded when it was reported its leaders knew about the sexual harassment allegations against co-founder John Weaver, and the petition to recall California Gov. Gavin Newsom D-Calif. reached 1.5 million signatures to likely trigger a special election.

The Donald Trump Charlottesville rhetoric lie was debunked again, and now, Gov. Andrew Cuomo, D-N.Y. is facing bipartisan flack from lawmakers after a Freedom of Information Request (FOIA) request showed as many as 9,000 COVID-19 infected patients were sent to nursing homes under his directive, resulting in one of the nation’s worst COVID scenarios.

Speaking with CBS News’ Lana Zak Saturday following the acquittal of former President Trump in the impeachment trial in the U.S. Senate, Trump’s attorney Michael van der Veen blasted the media, saying, “You are bloodthirsty for ratings.” At the end of the interview, Van Der Veen simply tore off his microphone and dropped it.

Prof Says He’s ‘Struggling’ with His Christian Faith Because of Trump, But Beheadings Shouldn’t Reflect on Islam

TDS is a terrible thing.

Religions shouldn’t be considered responsible for the misdeeds of their followers, right? That has been the consistent establishment media line on Islam since 9/11, and before that, and it has been enshrined in public policy on both sides of the Atlantic and become axiomatic in the West’s approach to terrorism.

But wait. Issac Bailey is a columnist and a professor of Public Policy at Davidson College in North Carolina. He writes in Newsweek: “If Christianity can convince so many to follow a man like Trump almost worshipfully—or couldn’t at least help millions discern the unique threat Trump represented—what good is it really?” So now apparently the followers of a religion do reflect on the religion itself – if the religion is Christianity, and the evil follower is Donald Trump.

Trump impeachment acquittal is a victory for ‘white supremacy’ … according to liberals crying over ‘sad day in America’

Though Donald Trump’s impeachment was expected by most to not pass the Senate, the former president’s loudest critics expressed their shock on social media by equating it to a victory for fascism and white supremacy.

“It is a sad day in America when only 7 republicans have the patriotism and integrity to convict a tyrant,” actress and Democrat activist Alyaa Milano tweeted minutes after Trump’s acquittal was announced, with 43 Senators ultimately voting down the article of impeachment accusing the former president of “inciting an insurrection.”

The Lincoln Project Devours Itself

Lincoln Project co-founder Steve Schmidt resigns amid scandals at anti-Trump super PAC

Lincoln Project co-founder Steve Schmidt is stepping down from its board as scandals continue to mount against the anti-Trump super PAC.

The veteran Republican operative’s departure comes after other leaders at the big-money political action committee accused him of fumbling sexual harassment allegations against another co-founder, according to Axios.

Leaders at the Lincoln Project — best known for raising millions to fund the GOP “Never Trump” movement — were reportedly informed in writing and phone calls of at least 10 specific allegations of harassment against John Weaver as early as June.
