CBC In Shock: Trump signs order to buy plastic straws, eliminate paper straws

U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday signed an executive order aimed at encouraging the U.S. government and consumers to buy plastic drinking straws, pushing back efforts by his predecessor to phase out single-use plastics and tackle waste.

“We’re going back to plastic straws,” Trump told reporters at the White House as he signed the order, saying that paper straws “don’t work.”

“I don’t think plastic is going to affect a shark very much, as they’re munching their way through the ocean,” Trump said.

COOPER: Canadians suffering TDS best look in the mirror

” TDS is just a giant excuse not to look in the mirror. This is the only way for Canadians to keep their sanctimonious moral superiority intact.”

Suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS) may not be a requirement to appear among the pseudo-patriots on the Laurentian media, but it surely helps. Led by the premier of Ontario, our new Captain Canada, the amount of defamatory rubbish hurled in the direction of Donald J. Trump and his administration was exceeded only by the venomous criticism of anyone, especially if Canadian, who tried to understand (and not necessarily to defend) the Americans’ perspective on Canada.

Democrats Have Trump Fever, and There Is No Cure

Think of the Trump administration as a virulent but benevolent virus that has infected the monstrous, bloated, Vindmanesque blob that is the United States government. The beauty of it is that Trump, predominantly through DOGE but also through his other appointees and staffers, is using the state against itself much like a virus does. A virus will find a vulnerable cell, inject itself into it, and use the machinery of the cell to replicate itself. It turns the host cell against the organism. And that’s what Trump is doing as he infects and, hopefully, kills the hateful administrative state.

To stop Trump, censor those awful people who don’t think like I want them to!

MacDougall: To stop Trump, drain the social media swamp

If nothing concentrates the mind like the prospect of a hanging, what does an endless series of potential hangings do to one’s cranium?

This is the question Canada must contemplate as it braces for more Donald Trump. We may have received a 30-day reprieve on tariffs, but Trump will be back to beggar his neighbour. And every day he is in power, he inspires another generation of “leaders” imbued with the philosophy of “might makes right.”

Do these nutz ever listen to themselves?

Pierre Poilievre was riding a Trump-like wave. Is it about to drown him?

Susan Delacourt: Donald Trump is no friend to progressives in Canada, to state the obvious. But I’m sure I’m not the only person wondering these days how much of a pal he is to Canadian conservatives, both provincially and federally.

Trump’s 30-day reprieve of tariffs on Canadian imports kind of pulled the rug out from Doug Ford’s whole provincial election pitch to Ontarians, who will now vote on Feb. 27 without any clue on what Trump will do next. Meanwhile, polls are showing that Pierre Poilievre and the federal Conservatives are taking a hit in popularity as Canadians shift their attention to who’s best to deal with the havoc Trump is wreaking. So my question to you, Matt: is it time for Poilievre’s team to get nervous?

People are waking up to the fact the elite and their media have ginned up a TDS patriotism to distract from the LPC-NDP reign of error.

Trump Doubles CBS Lawsuit Damages After 60 Minutes Releases Unedited Harris Transcript

President Donald Trump’s legal team added new claims to its lawsuit against CBS News on Friday after 60 Minutes released the unedited transcript of former Vice President Kamala Harris’s interview that aired a month before the election.

Trump sued CBS in October for engaging in “partisan and unlawful acts of election and voter interference through malicious, deceptive, and substantial news distortion,” arguing the interview’s deceptive editing made Harris look more favorable. The $10 billion lawsuit was filed five days before the election. Two days after the transcript’s release, Trump doubled the damages incurred to $20 billion.

A 22nd-century history book on our ‘fascist’ age

Yesterday, I watched an X video of a maybe 20-something woman berating me as a Trump voter for ignorance (vincible or invincible, she couldn’t decide).  I was told that future history books would tell us how “evil” these years were in the United States.  It would not “be about Democrat or Republican, conservative or liberal, but quite literally of right versus wrong.  It is about having morals or not.”  That I had, as a moral theologian, apparently not noticed that was a wake-up call.  I was grateful but scared to learn I live in such apocalyptic times.

‘Comedian’ Chelsea Handler at Awards Show: Melania Trump’s a Whore!

Chelsea Handler – good argument for abstinence.

Hollywood awards shows have been tiptoeing around their natural inclination to arrogant left-wing speechifying and caustic insults of the Trumps. That trend ended at the Critics Choice Awards on Friday night, as MRC’s Brent Baker revealed. “Comedian” Chelsea Handler compared Melania Trump to a prostitute.

Chelsea Handler – her friends piss on her. Literally.

What All Americans Can Learn from Ellen DeGeneres’s Disastrous Escape to Europe

When Donald Trump secured his second term as president, several wealthy liberals threatened to leave the country. Most were bluffing. Ellen DeGeneres wasn’t.

Once the queen of daytime television, Ellen packed her bags and moved to the English countryside with her wife Portia De Rossi. Seeking refuge from the political climate, the couple soon discovered that the grass isn’t always greener. Sometimes, it’s entirely scorched.

Their £15 million ($18 million) Cotswolds estate has sparked outrage among locals, with accusations that renovations are creating a flood risk and disturbing ancient Roman ruins. It’s an ironic twist — fleeing the hostility of America, only to face a different kind of hostility abroad.

The Winning Never Ends! Democratic lawmaker undergoes ‘voluntary sterilisation’ because of Trump presidency

Laurie Pohutsky TDS sufferer

A Michigan state representative claims she underwent a sterilisation procedure to avoid becoming pregnant while Donald Trump is in office.

Laurie Pohutsky, a Democrat, said she went through with the surgery because she believed that the US President could choose to ban contraception.

“Just under two weeks ago, I underwent surgery to ensure that I would never have to navigate a pregnancy in Donald Trump’s America,” she said at a protest on Wednesday.

Transgender ‘recognition’ in Bangladesh, Kosovo, Guatemala — how one USAID employee shows what’s wrong with the embattled agency

In the annals of asinine USAID funding bursting into public view under Trump administration scrutiny, the $50 billion-a-year United States Agency for International Development’s efforts to make the world safe for queerocracy ring particularly perverse.

For a window into these most colorful of efforts, consider the cool million bucks you the taxpayer committed in an award for an LGBTQI program adviser you probably didn’t know you needed.

The $969,821 award’s recipient is a longtime activist named Stephen Leonelli.

FBI agents try to block administration’s effort to examine Trump, Jan. 6 cases

A group of nine FBI agents asked a federal judge on Tuesday to block the Trump administration’s efforts to collect information on thousands of case agents across the country who worked on investigations tied to the President Donald Trump or the Jan. 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Attorneys for the agents, who filed suit anonymously in U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, said any effort to use that information as a basis to fire FBI employees would be unlawful, retaliatory and violation of civil service protections.

They also raised concerns that administration officials might make public the names of agents involved in the Jan. 6 cases, “placing themselves in their families in immediate danger of retribution by the now pardoned and at-large Jan. 6 convicted felons.”
