Donald Trump repeats baseless claim that Justin Trudeau ‘could be’ the son of Fidel Castro

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump pumped hot air into an old and baseless conspiracy theory about Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, telling a controversial internet personality that the Canadian leader “could be” the son of former Cuban president Fidel Castro.

In a fawning interview Monday with 24-year-old internet influencer Adin Ross, Trump rambled on about Democratic rival Kamala Harris and other leading Democrats, public figures like Elon Musk, Kanye West and Young Thug, and several world leaders.

The Star ran with the Russia hoax so merits no trust.

Justice Dept. Charges Muslim with ties to Iran for alleged plot to kill President Trump & other U.S. Leaders

The Justice Department said on Tuesday that it had charged a Pakistani man who had recently spent two weeks in Iran with trying to hire a hit man to assassinate political figures in the U.S. Investigators believe that potential targets likely included former President Donald J. Trump, according to a senior law enforcement official.

The man, Asif Raza Merchant, 46, was arrested in New York on July 12, the day before a 20-year-old man, Matthew Crooks, shot at and slightly wounded Mr. Trump during a rally in Pennsylvania, according to a criminal complaint unsealed in federal court in Brooklyn on Tuesday.

Will he be offered a job with the Secret Service?

The Trump Assassination attempt: knowing what should happen

The Trump Assassination attempt: knowing what should happen

Among the best advice any writer can take is: “write what you know.” Properly applied, this axiom can keep writers of fiction from inventing semiautomatic, lever action revolvers, or writing female characters with the sensibilities of Hulk Hogan. Because police work was my military MOS and my first civilian career, I know a few things about investigations, such as what should happen, when and why. When those things don’t happen in the right order, or they don’t happen at all, it’s virtually always indicative of gross incompetence and/or a coverup.

Trump or Harris: Here’s how Canada would be affected by either a Republican or Democrat presidential win

OTTAWA—Donald Trump versus Kamala Harris.

Two very different presidential hopefuls are clashing in a contest with big stakes.

Any shift in policy from Ottawa’s biggest ally and most important trading partner will impact Canadians — regardless of who wins the race for the White House in November.

But how would the election of either affect Canada?

Texas school district reverses decision, allows pro-Trump parking spots

A North Texas school district will allow students to paint their purchased parking spots in support of former President Donald Trump, reversing an earlier decision, the Dallas Morning News reports.

Seniors in Keller Independent School District can pay about $200 for a reserved parking spot, which they may paint. A couple of students were asked to paint over their pro-Trump designs last week.

Secret Service Prep Before Trump Shooting Shows It Was a Clown Show

You can use big words and insider acronyms to explain yourselves. Still, the Secret Service oversight of the Butler, Pa., site of Donald Trump’s near-assassination can best be summed up in these three simple words: a clown show. If you hadn’t figured that out by now, it was unwittingly confirmed during a news conference (see below) Friday.

‘We lost sight of him’: Radio traffic shows failed search for Trump rally shooter

An urgent message crackled over the radio inside the white trailer, a mobile communications hub for local police helping to secure former president Donald Trump’s July 13 rally in Butler, Pa.

“Just an FYI, we had a younger white male, long hair, lurking around the AGR building,” a local countersniper said at 5:42 p.m., according to a time-stamped transcript of encrypted radio communications obtained by The Washington Post. “He was viewed with a range finder sighting the stage. … We lost sight of him.”

See Where Countersnipers Could Have Stopped the Trump Rally Gunman

Since the shooting, testimonies from law enforcement officials before House and Senate panels have pointed to critical spots near the rally that could have allowed countersnipers to spot the gunman before he fired eight shots, including one that grazed Mr. Trump’s ear.

The gunman, Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, managed to climb up on top of an AGR International warehouse, walk across its roof and begin shooting — all while evading countersnipers. There were four locations where countersnipers were stationed near the rally, according to Beaver County planning documents. Law enforcement officials have since testified that higher-elevation positions should have been secured.

Snipers Positioned in Way That They Couldn’t See Trump Shooter: Officials

Snipers were positioned in a building near former President Donald Trump’s rally in a way that they could not see Thomas Crooks, the man who fired at Trump, local officials said on July 31, rebutting testimony from the U.S. Secret Service’s acting director.

“Where our people were was the far-right side of the AGR building. Their views in no way could have seen Crooks without pushing their heads outside the window and looking back,” Detective Patrick Young, who heads the Beaver County Emergency Services Unit, told CNN.

“The videos and the exhibits presented to Congress are purely wrong as to what they’d actually seen,” he added.

Trump: Google, Facebook ‘RIGGING THE ELECTION’ with Censorship ‘Again’

Trump took to Truth Social to revel in Facebook and Google getting called out for censoring search terms and an iconic image related to the attempt on his life.

“Facebook has just admitted that it wrongly censored the Trump ‘attempted assassination photo,’ and got caught. Same thing for Google,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “They made it virtually impossible to find pictures or anything about this heinous act. Both are facing BIG BACKLASH OVER CENSORSHIP CLAIMS.” The former president added, “Here we go again, another attempt at RIGGING THE ELECTION!!! GO AFTER META AND GOOGLE. LET THEM KNOW WE ARE ALL WISE TO THEM, WILL BE MUCH TOUGHER THIS TIME. MAGA2024!”

Acting Secret Service chief ‘ashamed’ of Trump rally shooting security gaps, ‘cannot defend’ shooter having roof access

Secret Service acting director Ronald Rowe, in a joint congressional hearing Tuesday, admitted he was “ashamed” of security lapses that nearly led to the assassination of former President Donald Trump.

Rowe, who was elevated to the position last week following the resignation of his boss, former Director Kimberly Cheatle, said the July 13 shooting at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania was “a failure on multiple levels” during testimony before the Senate Judiciary and Homeland Security committees.

Is Janet Napolitano Fit to Investigate the Attempted Assassination of Donald Trump?

Recall her record as DHS boss and president of the University of California, not to mention the Anita Hill hearings.

Department of Homeland Security director Alejandro Mayorkas is assembling a 45-day “independent security review” of the attempted assassination of Donald Trump on July 13. For this task Mayorkas selected:

Chief David Mitchell, the former superintendent of Maryland State Police and former Secretary of the Department of Public Safety and Homeland Security for the State of Delaware; Mark Filip, a former federal judge and Deputy Attorney General to President George W. Bush; Ms. Frances Townsend, former Homeland Security Advisor to President George W. Bush; and former Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano. Her stint in that job gives the people cause to wonder.

Gunman at Trump Rally Was Often a Step Ahead of the Secret Service

Text messages, obtained exclusively by The Times, indicate that some law enforcement officers were aware of Thomas Crooks earlier than previously known. And he was aware of them.

Nearly 100 minutes before former President Donald J. Trump took the stage in Butler, Pa., a local countersniper who was part of the broader security detail let his colleagues know his shift was ending.

“Guys I am out. Be safe,” he texted to a group of colleagues at 4:19 p.m. on July 13. He exited the second floor of a warehouse that overlooked the campaign rally site, leaving two other countersnipers behind.

This is starting to look as if it was allowed to happen.
