There has been a lot of speculation as to the true purpose of the FBI raid on Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home in Florida. Was it a fishing expedition? Was the raid cover for looking for documents related to January 6? One report even claimed that Trump had top secret documents about nuclear weapons.
Anonymous intelligence officials have told Newsweek they know exactly what the FBI was really after: documents related to the Russian collusion hoax — also known as Operation Crossfire Hurricane.

Last week’s raid by the Federal Bureau of Investigation on former President Donald Trump’s home has damaged the FBI’s standing with Republican and independent voters.
A new national telephone and online survey by Rasmussen Reports finds that 44% of Likely U.S. voters say the FBI raid on Trump’s Florida home made them trust the FBI less, compared to 29% who say it made them trust the bureau more. Twenty-three percent (23%) say the Trump raid did not make much difference in their trust of the FBI.
Former President Trump continued his troll game on Thursday when he sarcastically endorsed socialist Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY).

Just as the American mainstream media have become the propaganda arm of the Democratic party, so the once great FBI resembles little more than its private enforcement arm.
Attorney General Merrick Garland’s raid on Mar-a-Lago represented no more than an application of the principle that guided Stalinist Lavrentiy Beria, ‘Show me the man and I’ll show you the crime’.

The FBI collected all of the documents that were government property and used concerns about classified documents to justify the raid, but agents were looking for Trump’s personal stash containing documents related to Russian collusion accusations against him, fearing that he would “weaponize” them, Newsweek reported. One former Trump official said he may have planned to use the documents to help in a presidential run in the coming term.

He is still popping off after his stupendous act of partisan hackery.
Before the Trump era, members of official Washington who held ostensibly nonpartisan positions of public trust made some effort to conceal their biases. Indeed, many of these figures would hold themselves out as uniquely apolitical and dispassionate. But sheer hatred of Donald Trump has made them throw off that mask. Turn on MSNBC or CNN at almost any hour of the day and you will hear their liberal ranting.

At Newsweek, Liz Wheeler has jumped into the debate over what to do about the ongoing weaponization of the Department of Justice and the Federal Bureau of Investigation under Joe Biden and Merrick Garland in the aftermath of the FBI raid on Donald Trump’s home last week. She covers some of the current accusations against Garland and the Bureau that are rather difficult to simply brush aside as partisan bickering or paranoia. Chief among these is a reminder that it was Hillary Clinton’s lawyer, Marc Elias, who first suggested accusing Trump of hiding a classified document and then prosecuting him under Title 18 of U.S. Code 2071. If a conviction could be obtained, Trump would be barred from ever holding public office again.

“The threats we have observed, to date, underscore that DVEs [Domestic Violent Extremists] may view the 2022 midterm election as an additional flashpoint around which to escalate threats against perceived ideological opponents, including federal law enforcement personnel.”
“Information contained in this intelligence bulletin is for official use only. No portion of this bulletin should be released to the media, the general public, or over nonsecure Internet servers. Release of this material could adversely affect or jeopardize investigative activities.”

The Federal Bureau of Investigation says that the threat of a civil war is increasing. A bulletin from the Department of Homeland Security and FBI was sent to law enforcement agencies warning of increased threats following the FBI’s execution of the search warrant at former President Trump’s Florida estate.
The DHS and FBI also said that a threat involved a “dirty bomb” that would be placed in front of FBI headquarters.

During his Fox News show on Monday night, host Tucker Carlson chillingly predicted that former President Donald Trump will be indicted in the wake of the FBI raiding his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida last week.
“There’s nothing to see here, that’s the line,” Carlson said, according to The Hill. He went on to list some Republicans whom he predicts will “say the same thing when the Biden Justice Department or some other state agency under their influence finally does what you know they’re going to do, and that’s indict Donald Trump.”
“Obviously they’re going to do that,” Carlson continued. “Who knows how, maybe they’ll produce surveillance video from Mar-a-Lago, apparently they’ve already subpoenaed that.”

The Mar-a-Lago raid has brought out the worst instincts of the pundit class.
We all know by now that, last week, the FBI raided former president Donald Trump’s private home, in Mar-a-Lago, and retrieved 20 boxes. We know from the now unsealed search warrant and property receipt that these boxes included a host of documents, including Roger Stone’s executive grant of clemency, a leatherbound box of documents, two binders of photos, a handwritten note, an item labelled ‘Info re: president of France’, and 11 sets of classified documents. Some of these were marked top secret.

Civil liberties require a single standard without regard to party, ideology or person. The right of Nazis to their despicable free speech must be protected with the same vigor as the right of Salman Rushdie. The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) in particular, and good civil libertarians in general, used to live by that creed. That is what makes them different from special pleaders who limit their advocacy to those who agree or identify with them. This great tradition — that led John Adams to defend the hated British soldiers who were accused of the Boston massacre and led the old ACLU to defend the right of Nazis to march through Skokie, Illinois — has not been evident when it comes to the treatment of Donald Trump. A double standard has been manifested in a number of ways.

When a phalanx of SWATted-out FBI agents descended upon Donald Trump’s Palm Beach home, they also walked off with boxes of what the DOJ claimed were “classified” documents, photographs, the former president’s passports, and privileged legal documents that, the last time we checked, the Trump-Russia collusion hoaxers or any other government actor shouldn’t put their prying fingers on.

The Department of Justice is opposing the release of the underlying affidavit justifying its unprecedented raid of Mar-a-Lago, just days after it agreed to unseal the warrant approving the FBI search of former President Donald Trump’s Florida resort.
“There remain compelling reasons, including to protect the integrity of an ongoing law enforcement investigation that implicates national security, that support keeping the affidavit sealed,” DOJ lawyers declared on Monday, also indicating, however, that they would be open to releasing redacted portions of other related documents.
Of course they do – there’s no probable cause. There’s no whistleblower.
