Judge prompts outrage after wishing 7/7 mastermind ‘all the best’

A judge has been criticised for wishing a mastermind of the 7/7 London bombings “all the best” upon his release.

Mr Justice Jay made the remarks at a High Court hearing before Haroon Aswat’s release despite fears that he remains a threat.

Court documents show that Aswat, of Batley, West Yorkshire, confessed to being a “mastermind behind the 9/11 attacks and a 2005 terrorist attack in the UK”.

Is Britain Becoming North Korea?

That’s the question Nigel Farage, leader of Britain’s Reform UK Party, asked last week at a U.S. House hearing on the censorship of free speech in the UK. Mr. Farage, who is probably the most interesting person in English-speaking politics, asked, “At what point did we become North Korea?”

President Trump should immediately condemn the arrest of Mr. Linehan and the attempts by the UK and EU to censor what we say and write in the U.S.

Middle England is radicalising, and the rest of the world is watching

For many protesters in York and Leeds, waving the national flag is not a mark of extremism. They simply want to keep their communities safe

York has long been defined by postcard charm. Cobbled streets, medieval walls, a bustling university and steady tourist influx made it a place associated with heritage and Harry Potter, not hard politics. But York has now become a battle ground for Britain’s growing migration debate, overwriting the city’s storybook image. What was once a byword for stability now reads as a warning: Middle England is learning the politics of confrontation.

UK: Teenagers more patriotic than their parents

British 16 and 17-year-olds are more patriotic than the public overall, but are indifferent about the monarchy, according to a new poll.

The research for The Sunday Times found that 49 per cent say they are proud of their national identity, while 10 per cent say they are ashamed, a net positive score of 39. Across the population as a whole, 45 per cent are proud while 15 per cent are ashamed, a net score of 30.

There is a stark gender divide. Almost six in ten boys (57 per cent) say they are proud to be British, compared with almost four in ten girls (39 per cent).

Whither the U.K.? And its Anglophone offspring?

An Australian woman has been found guilty of vilifying male athletes competing in women’s sports … and now faces fines and penalties of up to $200,000 (Australian)!

According to a local court of New South Wales, Kirralie Smith “unlawfully vilified” two males playing soccer on women’s teams by stating that they have unfair physical advantages over the women and noting that opposing female players had suffered severe injuries due to this fact. Two-hundred-grand for stating an obvious truth.

Bad on ya, mate!

I was arrested after refusing to remove my Union flag – I thought I’d be the next Lucy Connolly

On Sunday evening, two days after the Court of Appeal ruled that the Bell Hotel in Epping could continue to house migrants, Sarah White joined the protest route, which she has marched countless times in the past two months. Wearing a pink top with “The Only Way is Epping” emblazoned on it, carrying a Union flag, she addressed the crowd.

“We assert our fundamental right to protest peacefully,” she said. “A right woven into the fabric of our history.” Essex, White went on, “once repelled a Napoleonic invasion”. “We will not consent to governance that endangers our communities.”

Last pub in UK will call time in 2050 at today’s closure rates

Venues are shutting at five a day, hit by changing lifestyles and rising overheads. Micropubs offer hope but owners say they need government help to survive

In 1870 there were 115,000 pubs and “beerhouses” in the UK. With an adult population of about 15 million at the time, it meant one pub for every 130 people.

Fast forward to today, and the number has sunk to below 45,000, the equivalent of about one for every 1,000 adults.

The pub has long been a totemic part of British culture — so what is behind this decline and is there any chance it will be reversed?

Angela Rayner resigns over tax scandal

Angela Rayner – every bit the hypocrite leftist harpy you imagined

Angela Rayner has resigned as Deputy Prime Minister after a Telegraph investigation into her tax affairs.

She is quitting after admitting underpaying stamp duty on her £800,000 seaside flat in Hove, East Sussex.

It came a day after The Telegraph revealed that a conveyancing firm she had used went public to say it had been made “scapegoats” and did not give her tax advice.

Graham Linehan’s arrest shows we need a UK First Amendment

The co-creator of Father Ted, Graham Linehan, was arrested at Heathrow Airport on Monday on suspicion of ‘inciting violence’. His crime? Criticising trans ideology on social media.

No sooner had Linehan disembarked his flight from Arizona than he was apprehended by armed police. In a post on Substack, he explained that his arrest was for three posts on X. One of the tweets read: ‘If a trans-identified male is in a female-only space, he is committing a violent, abusive act. Make a scene, call the cops and if all else fails, punch him in the balls.’

Asylum seeker found guilty of sexual assault of girl 14 that triggered huge protests outside Bell Hotel in Epping

A migrant who tried to kiss her a schoolgirl and told her he wanted to have a baby with her before later groping a woman who came to her aid was convicted of sex offences today.

Ethiopian national Hadush Gerberslasie Kebatu, 41, sparked a huge anti-migrant demonstration in Epping, Essex, and prompted the local council to try and shut down the town’s Bell Hotel where he was a resident after his arrest in July.

He made inappropriate comments and tried to kiss the 14-year-old as she sat eating pizza with friends on a bench after school.

Britain is at war with freedom, Farage tells US

Nigel Farage said Britain was at “war with freedom” as he prepared to testify in US Congress over limits to free speech.

The Reform UK leader is at a hearing this morning in Washington, raising concerns about British restrictions on freedom of speech in the US.

Mr Farage has raised the case Graham Linehan, the Father Ted creator, who was arrested by five armed officers over posts he made on X about transgender people. Mr Farage earlier described Linehan’s arrest as a “war on freedom”.

Racism in the British countryside? The bigger issue is ethnic minority riots in cities

Too many of our academic institutions have substituted rigorous research for racial activism. University of Leicester’s Centre for Hate Studies is just the latest example. They have published a report which warns of “rural racism” in the “overwhelmingly white” British countryside.

The researchers – who spoke to just 115 people and 20 community groups over a two-year period – also lamented the lack of religiously-sensitive facilities in rural areas that are defined by their traditional pub culture and other “monocultural customs”.

Pressure Building in UK

I make no predictions when it comes to social movements because they are unpredictable, at least when USAID isn’t funding a “color revolution.”

But if I were Keir Starmer, I would be talking to my doctor about anti-anxiety meds and treatments for chronic migraines, because it sure looks like the pressure is building on the migrant issue.

Two in three Brits would NOT fight for King or country, study reveals

Two in three adults would not fight for King or country if it came under attack, a new study has revealed.

The research found 64 per cent of respondents were unwilling to defend Britain in the event of war – while a further six per cent expressed uncertainty.

In every age bracket of the poll, conducted by the Daily Express, the majority of respondents were ‘not very willing’ or ‘not willing at all’ to serve.

Farage and migrants – the gentleman IS for turning

THIS week I reported in TCW on Reform UK’s new manifesto for national security and justice, announced on Tuesday. I observed problems in the party’s messaging, even before the mainstream media misrepresented it. I noted contradictions with the party’s prior positions. I noted that Reform was adopting positions already proposed by erstwhile members Rupert Lowe (Restore Britain) and Ben Habib (Advance UK) without admitting it.

Well, as soon as Wednesday, Nigel Farage was backtracking. He had said in a prior interview and at the launch on the Tuesday that immigrant children present a ‘difficult and complicated issue’, but confirmed that all illegals would be deported. Meanwhile Zia Yusuf, the party’s lead for government efficiency, said young men would be prioritised for deportation, while women and children would be deported in the second half of the five-year programme.

Never believe a word Farage says especially concerning Islam and remigration.
