Alberta’s Kenney defends calling party opponents ‘lunatics,’ comparing them to bugs

Alberta Premier Jason Kenney says he won’t apologize for comments he is heard making in recordings in which he compares political opponents in his party to insects and calls them lunatics.

Kenney says the United Conservative Party is under siege from extremist elements, including homophobes and religious bigots, seeking a hostile takeover by toppling him in an upcoming leadership review.

“I am determined to ensure that such hateful, extreme and divisive voices do not find a home in this mainstream broad conservative party,” Kenney told reporters in Calgary on Friday.

The Loch Ness Monster Is RACIST!

To many, it’s a fun fairytale to lure tourists; to others, it’s a genuine mystery – or just a silly hoax.

But to woke education chiefs, the Loch Ness Monster is a potent symbol of England’s domination of Scotland – a theory which will now be taught in schools.

Pupils north of the border are to be told how the mythical beast reinforces negative stereotypes and ingrains bias about the Scots.

‘Some Women Have Penises’

A women’s rights group meeting to discuss single-sex spaces was protested by trans activists – leading to police being called.

The group was hosting its annual conference to consider ‘the importance and future of single-sex provision in policy and law’.

Sure they do.

Biden bizarrely compares Poland taking in two million Ukrainian refugees to the crisis at America’s southern border

President Joe Biden on Saturday compared Poland’s taking in more than 2 million Ukraine refugees to the migrant situation on the Southern border of the U.S.

The odd comparision came as Biden was thanking Polish President Andrzej Duda for his country’s response to the humanitarian crisis and pledging U.S. financial aid.

‘We do acknowledge Poland has taken on a lot with all of the responsibility,’ Biden said.

Kenney says United Conservative Party risks takeover by far-right ‘lunatics’

Alberta’s premier has called fellow Conservatives “lunatics” who are “trying to take over the asylum” as a populist mutiny in his party foreshadows a bitter fight for the future of Canada’s Conservative movement.

In a leaked recording of a meeting with caucus staff on Tuesday, Premier Jason Kenney warned a far-right element – skeptical of coronavirus measures and wedded to conspiracy theories – could seize control of the party in the coming weeks as the United Conservatives hold a leadership review.

“I will not let this mainstream conservative party become an agent for extreme, hateful, intolerant, bigoted and crazy views. Sorry to be so blunt with you but you need to understand what the stakes are here,” he said, before alluding to the baseless QAnon conspiracy theory with a warning that “people who think I am involved in a global conspiracy to traffic children” would show up to vote for his removal.

Unifor whistleblower reported Jerry Dias after being offered $25K, Star learns

Chris MacDonald, national assistant to former Unifor president Jerry Dias, was the whistleblower who reported an alleged kickback scandal after being passed over for an endorsement in the upcoming election for union president, the Star has learned.

Dias, who was under “significant stress” after being forced to choose between two “close friends” to endorse as his successor, was consuming heavy amounts of drugs and alcohol when he allegedly took $50,000 from a COVID-19 rapid test supplier that he promoted to Unifor employers, according to a psychiatric assessment of the long-time labour leader.

Dias subsequently gave $25,000 to MacDonald, who he did not endorse, and stated that the money was from the test supplier, according to the union.
