Canadians Favour Gripen over F-35

[Ottawa – December 17, 2025] As the debate over Canada’s next-generation fighter jet continues, Canadians are leaning decisively away from an all-F-35 future.

When asked which option is best for Canada – the Lockheed Martin F-35 or the Saab Gripen – seven in ten Canadians (72 per cent) support incorporating the Gripen into Canada’s fighter fleet, either by switching to the aircraft for all future purchases (43 per cent) or by maintaining a mixed fleet of both Gripens and F-35s (29 per cent). Just one in eight (13 per cent) say Canada should continue with the F-35 as its primary fighter jet.

British Academics Want to ‘Decolonise’ Female Genital Mutilation

new paper in a highly regarded British Medical Journal publication has sparked outrage for attempting to launch a debate on the so-called “harms of the current global anti-female genital mutilation (FGM) campaign.”

It says coverage of the practice, where the female genitals are deliberately cut, injured or changed, often relies on “titillating sensationalism,” and complains that this “leads to vilification of migrants, infantilisation of people and their cultures, and failure to recognise the agency of the women concerned and their communities.”

BARCLAY: No ceasefire up North — the reality of Jewish life in Canada post-October 7

On December 14, two Islamic terrorists attacked a Chanukah celebration in Australia and murdered 15 people, including a 10-year-old girl, before their rampage was eventually halted by the Bondi police.

Unfortunately, the recent antisemitic attack in Australia has vividly underscored the sad reality that the shaky ceasefire between Israel and Hamas does not entail any peace for the international Jewish community or an end to the antisemitic violence that has become a consistent aspect of Jewish life in the wake of October 7.

The Ajax tank scandal shames the British Army

By any normal logic, the FillYourBoots forum should never have become a problem for the Ministry of Defence (MoD). The Facebook page started as little more than a digital gossip corner: a place where soldiers shared banter, memes and humour too dark, too sharp and too truthful for civilian audiences. It was the army in its most unfiltered form. Harmless, rowdy, even charming.
