The Myth of the Racist, Transphobic Toddlers

Are British schools experiencing an epidemic of racism? Are classrooms filled with little budding neo-Nazis? Are four-year-olds unleashing a regime of bigoted terror upon their non-white classmates?

Not quite. Although, this is what the statistics would have you believe. According to official figures, the number of children being sent home from school for racism has more than doubled in the last three years. In 2021, there were 7,400 suspensions for racist behaviour. In 2024, there were over 15,000. Nearly 2,500 of those cases took place within primary schools, where children are no older than 11. Some reports even involve pupils from reception, where children are aged just four or five.

Despite boycott, Canadians poured record $50B into US securities at height of trade war

Canadians might be boycotting American products over the trade war and avoiding travel to the US — but their investment portfolios are snapping up red, white and blue stocks at an “unprecedented rate.”

They poured an eye-popping $50 billion into US securities at the height of the 2025 trade war — the most since at least 1990.

“Canadian investors have opted to load up on US financial assets since President Trump was sworn in,” Warren Lovely, managing director of National Bank Financial in Toronto, wrote in a recent report, noting the pace has been “unprecedented.”

Man sues grocery store after he tried to steal car, was ‘punched, kicked and hit’ by staffers

A chronic thief who was beaten up after he was caught trying to steal a car outside an inner-city grocery store is suing staff, arguing he was left with life-altering injuries.

“The amount of force used against him was far in excess of what was necessary to execute a citizen’s arrest or detain him pending the arrival of law enforcement personnel,” 36-year-old Michael Prince alleged in a statement of claim filed earlier this month by his lawyer in the Manitoba Court of King’s Bench.

Stupid Stuff Andrew Coyne Says: Donald Trump is on the brink of becoming a dictator. Can he be stopped?

By now it should be clear that the subjection of the United States to the dictatorship of Donald Trump is no longer a theoretical possibility or even a distant probability. It is an imminent reality.

It is not here, quite – critics of the President remain at large, the courts are still attempting to enforce the rule of law, the results of the 2026 and 2028 elections have not yet been determined – but the pieces are being put in place at astonishing speed.
