Things Fall Apart; The Center Cannot Hold

Yesterday, I wrote about toxic empathy posing a dire threat to Western society. What makes this kind of empathy “toxic” is not that it is empathy, which is a characteristic that is necessary for the formation of a conscience, but rather that it is selective and, in many cases, unlimited.

People identified as deserving of empathy get infinite forgiveness for the most egregious actions, while those seen as “oppressors” deserve none at all and, in fact, should be punished and silenced for objecting to demands they submit to the will of the “oppressed.” It’s all based on an ever-changing and immensely complicated intersectional ladder of oppression, where points are assigned for various degrees of victimhood.

The Left’s Ugly Response to a Beautiful Woman’s Death

The left hijacks Brigitte Bardot’s funeral to settle political scores.

Funerals, like awards shows and sporting events, become excuses for the left to force their opinions on a captive audience.

This tasteless trend finds expression with the death of Brigitte Bardot, sex symbol extraordinaire, at 91.

Here’s a link to the Vogue Hit Piece – Brigitte Bardot, French Screen Legend and Style Icon, Dies at 91

Why They Hate Tolkien

Woke scolds are once again decrying Lord of the Rings as racist, far-right propaganda.

Poor J.R.R. Tolkien. This titan of English literature and high-fantasy heavyweight can hardly go five minutes without being branded racist, far-right, or otherwise evil. The usual suspects are routinely accusing Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings franchise of promoting right-wing extremism and Christian radicalism and threatening to scrub it from the fantasy canon.

They hate that he is Christian.

Almost half of grievance mongers say they have seen systemic racism in their province: poll

Almost half of Canadians say they have seen systemic racism in their province: poll

OTTAWA – Almost half of Canadians polled say they have observed evidence of systemic racism in their province, a new survey suggests.

The Leger poll of 1,627 people, conducted between Aug. 29 and 31 for the Association for Canadian Studies, says 49 per cent of Canadians reported having observed evidence of systemic racism — racism embedded in government and social systems and laws — in their province.

The poll, which was conducted online and can’t be assigned a margin of error, suggests that 37 per cent of those polled said they hadn’t observed evidence of systemic racism in their province, while 14 per cent said they didn’t know or preferred not to answer.

We Can Give No Clemency To The Assassination Left

Last week, conservatives were bludgeoned, once again, by the reality that they live in a country full of people who want them dead.

Charlie Kirk — a man known for his love of country, open and respectful debate, and Christian faith — was allegedly assassinated by a left-wing maniac. Many on the left tried to justify it, and some even cheered.

While the wound is still fresh, and we are finding out who people really are in the wake of such a horrific, and horrifically public, assassination, now is the time for action — serious action.

The Myth of the Racist, Transphobic Toddlers

Are British schools experiencing an epidemic of racism? Are classrooms filled with little budding neo-Nazis? Are four-year-olds unleashing a regime of bigoted terror upon their non-white classmates?

Not quite. Although, this is what the statistics would have you believe. According to official figures, the number of children being sent home from school for racism has more than doubled in the last three years. In 2021, there were 7,400 suspensions for racist behaviour. In 2024, there were over 15,000. Nearly 2,500 of those cases took place within primary schools, where children are no older than 11. Some reports even involve pupils from reception, where children are aged just four or five.

Racist Clean-Up, Aisle 7! Some White Guy Said ‘Kumbaya’

When someone, something, or a cause is running out of air, the reflexive over-action is often the exact opposite of the effective action needed to rectify or to relieve the situation.

Such seems to be the case with the various woke crusades and progressive causes as the air slips out of the balloons that had held them above any remonstrance, retribution, or rebukes that would have scuttled lesser supported and coddled indulgences.

Sydney Sweeney’s Republican voter registration revealed amid jeans ad controversy

Sydney Sweeney registered as a Republican voter in Florida a few months before Donald Trump won a second US presidency, it has been revealed, as the public continues fixating on a new jeans ad campaign featuring the actor and a pun about her genes.

The Euphoria and White Lotus star registered to vote in Florida on 14 June 2024 – shortly after buying a mansion in the Keys – and listed her party affiliation as Republican, according to publicly available records reviewed by the Guardian on Sunday. That was about two weeks after Trump, another registered Republican Florida voter, was convicted in New York City of criminal falsification of business records and before he secured a return to the White House in November’s presidential election.

The media and the usual cast of race baiting rent seekers are the only one’s fixated on American Eagles excellent ad campaign.

Amy Hamm: On Feucht and Hockey Canada ruling, ignore the angry mobs

It’s best not to be ruled by mobs. Not in our thinking, and particularly not in our actions.

Not by the mob that has spent the past week denouncing Christian rock singer Sean Feucht, and not by the mob currently insisting that the exoneration, in a sexual assault trial, of five former members of Canada’s 2018 world junior hockey team was wrong, both legally and morally.

Class action lawsuit alleging racism against Black public servants heads to court

A $2.5-billion class action lawsuit brought by Black public servants claiming systemic discrimination in the federal government is set to go to court on Monday.

In Federal Court in Toronto, the plaintiffs will make their case that the government owes them damages for salaries and pensions they never received because of anti-Black racism in hiring and promotion practices.

Blood, Soil and Land Acknowledgements

The 2024 Democratic National Convention opened with the claim that “our country was built on Indigenous homelands” from tribes that had been there “since time immemorial.” The American Lung Association’s DEI office tells members to begin by stating that “the land on which we stand” used to belong to Indian tribes who are now suffering from the “on-going violence and repression” of “tobacco-related health, indoor and outdoor air inequities.”
