A longtime fugitive wanted for manslaughter in Florida admits it was “a mistake” to flee to Toronto, where he was recently arrested after spending more than 21 years on the run.

In a sworn affidavit obtained by CBC News, Patrick Lutts Jr. publicly outlines for the first time how he hid from U.S. authorities after his involvement in a drunk-driving crash in Orlando, Fla., that killed two teens.

Lutts has no passport, he said, no Canadian bank account and had stayed in the same apartment in Toronto’s Church and Wellesley neighbourhood since 2004.

Parents have petitioned the New Brunswick legislature after a student was suspended for wearing a “straight pride” shirt to school.

On May 27, Conservative Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) presented a petition calling for the removal of Belleisle Regional High School principal Jennifer McFadden for suspending a student for wearing a straight pride” shirt, according to CBC News.

Ford considering Hwy. 401 tunnel as special economic zone where laws could be bypassed

Ontario Premier Doug Ford is indicating that Highway 401 could be designated as a special economic zone, allowing the province to fast-track its plans to construct a transit and traffic tunnel beneath it, while sidestepping a raft of environmental and municipal laws.

The province is currently in the process of passing Bill 5, Protect Ontario by Unleashing our Economy Act, legislation it introduced to speed up mining projects in the north.

Coastguard ‘too busy with migrant rescues’ to come to yacht’s aid

The coastguard had to issue an urgent appeal for fishing boats to assist a yacht and kayaks in trouble in the English Channel because all Border Force vessels and lifeboats were occupied rescuing migrants.

The appeal was made on Saturday morning as Border Force, coastguard, RNLI and several French vessels dealt with an estimated 15 small boats bearing migrants attempting to cross the Channel. The ships involved include two patrol craft, four Border Force vessels, seven French vessels, a warship and two lifeboats.

The yacht had issued an alert when it started taking on water.

The media is obviously bad in the sense that it is deeply dishonest propaganda, but along the way it also became bad in the sense that it consists of people who call themselves journalists but have no actual skills like checking their facts (as distinct from ‘fact-checking’ conservatives to argue that the Hunter Biden laptops aren’t real and that Joe Biden is just fine) and are incapable of doing anything except pushing political narratives…
