Elon Musk is calling on America to leave the North Atlantic Treaty Organization altogether following President Trump’s public fight with President Zelensky in the Oval Office, which led many of the alliance’s leaders to reaffirm their support for Ukraine. Neither Mr. Trump nor Vice President Vance are attending the European summit of NATO leaders at London this week.

Late Saturday night, Mr. Musk wrote on his social media platform X that America should exit the alliance, which includes 30 European countries, Canada, and the United States.

Don’t say ‘piece of cake’ because it’s too British, university claims

People should not use colloquial phrases like “a piece of cake” and “kill two birds with one stone” because they are “very British-English” and may not be understood by foreigners, a university has suggested.

The University of Cardiff has told students that such idioms do not usually translate well with other cultures, “not because people have poor English skills but because this is very British-English”.

Psychotic Nigerian robber can stay in UK because he believes he is ‘possessed’

A psychotic Nigerian armed robber and crack cocaine dealer has been spared deportation because he would be considered “possessed” in the African country.

The criminal was jailed for seven years for carrying out an armed robbery on a brothel in 2011, and seven years later was jailed for supplying crack cocaine.

A deportation order was made more than 10 years ago in April 2014, but he appealed on human rights grounds.

Our treatment of gender-critical campaigner was ‘unacceptable’, police admit

Police have apologised over an investigation they mounted into a Newcastle United fan banned by the football club after expressing gender-critical views on social media.

Northumbria Police have told Linzi Smith that crucial elements of their investigation into claims she had committed a hate crime were not acceptable.

It said that while there was no misconduct by its officers, the way they handled her case and similar hate crime reports in future should be subject to further training.
