Unfixable cars? Enough already!

I am old enough to have owned a half-dozen cars or trucks with no computers, including a 1941 Ford coup, a 1956 Chevrolet two-door sedan, and a 1966 Chevrolet Malibu. Fixing these vehicles to make them run correctly took some rudimentary skills and a Motors Manual. The electrical system comprised wires, fuses, and a fuse box. The fuel system was simple as well. Diagnosing the problems was simple, and I could fix it all myself. Even the carburetor was not that hard to rebuild.

Inside America’s ‘trans sanctuary city’ too busy shouting about Trump to focus on worst murder rate in decades

Residents of the Massachusetts city that’s declared itself a ‘trans sanctuary’ say they’re worried that social justice warriors have hijacked their council and are running their hometown into the ground.

Worcester entered the national spotlight this month when colorfully-dressed activists took over a hearing and demanded city hall give them more ‘protection’ because of Donald Trump’s return to the White House.

A parade of crusaders clad in wigs, make-up, jewelry, and drag costumes complained about being ‘unsafe’ in the liberal bastion, yelling and crying as they aired grievances from the podium.

Trump is threatening invasion of our country. Should you panic? Yes of course. But it won’t help

If Canadians seem worried right now, the avalanche that the Trusk/Mump administration has set rolling down the mountain towards us suggests it would really be more rational to panic. Who wants to be the orchestra playing as the Titanic broke in two? Unhook those lifeboats.

We hit more rubble each day, from Trump calling himself a king, to anticipatory economic damage in Canada, to a threatened invasion of our country, to Trump harvesting U.S. scientists with a lathe, to the horrifying Hitler-Stalinish US-Russia pincer on Ukraine, to everything else.

Jamie Sarkonak: Even Carney can’t explain his discredited ‘carbon offset’ plan

Carbon offsets are unreliable, fraud-ridden financial tokens that often fail to make any environmental impact at all. And if Mark Carney gets his way, they’re going to be Canada’s next big industry.

In his carbon reduction pitch to Liberal voters, Carney pledged himself to “developing and integrating a new consumer carbon credit market” that works with the existing industrial carbon tax, and promised it would bring about price certainty, market efficiency and fiscal neutrality.

Internal military report blames botched shooter drill on poor organization

An internal report blames a lack of communication for a debacle on a Canadian Armed Forces base last fall, when masked men taking part in active-shooter drill fired blanks at civil servants who didn’t know it was a training exercise.

During the drill, which took place on Nov. 12 at a service depot at CFB Longue-Pointe in Montreal, military police also confused a racialized employee with a drill participant playing an active shooter and wrestled him to the ground.
