Alberta Premier Danielle Smith visits Mar-a-Lago

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith visited U.S. president-elect Donald Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort on Saturday evening, the National Post has learned.

Smith’s office declined to confirm whether she actually spoke with Trump.

Trump, who has escalated his rhetoric around Canada, has promised, on day one, to institute 25 per-cent-tariffs on Canadian exports to the United States and has mused repeatedly about annexing Canada by “economic force,” referring to the 49th parallel as “artificial.”

First, they lost their home insurance. Then, L.A. fires consumed their homes

Last year, Francis Bischetti said he learned that the annual cost of the homeowners policy he buys from Farmers Insurance for his Pacific Palisades home was going to soar from $4,500 to $18,000 — an amount he could not possibly afford.

Neither could he get onto California FAIR Plan, which provides fewer benefits, because he said he would have to cut down 10 trees around his roof line to lower the fire risk — something else the 55-year-old personal assistant found too costly to manage.

So he decided he would do what’s called “going bare” — not buying any coverage on his home in the community’s El Medio neighborhood. He figured if he watered his property year round, that might be protection enough given its location south of Sunset Boulevard.

Co-leader of Germany’s far-right AfD calls for mass deportations

The co-leader of the far-right Alternative for Germany has called for mass deportations of immigrants as the party launched its programme for next month’s nationwide elections.

In a fiery speech to supporters in the small town of Riesa in Saxony, east Germany, Alice Weidel said that under the AfD — which is second in the polls with a record vote share of around 20 per cent — Germany would witness “repatriations on a large scale”.

Weidel, AfD’s candidate for chancellor in the elections, used the controversial term “remigration” to describe the policy.

There is nothing “controversial’ about the term “remigration” it’s just the bankrupt left’s means of signaling they’re scared shitless. The EU and German establishment live in abject fear of the AfD booting their snouts from the public trough.

Trendy pizzeria charges £100 for a Hawaiian to discourage customers from divisive topping

It is arguably the most divisive culinary combination.

Topping the traditional Italian favourite with pineapple now comes with a hefty price tag at one trendy pizzeria.

Lupa Pizza, in Norwich, is charging customers £100 for their Hawaiian pizza on the food delivery service, Deliveroo, because they disapprove of the combination so strongly.

Kath liked pineapple. I went along because I knew what was good for me.
