Freeland, LeBlanc insist Canada’s border is secure, despite Trump’s allegations and 25% tariffs

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s Liberal government on Tuesday defended Canada’s border integrity.

President-elect Donald Trump on Monday said he would impose 25% tariffs on his first day in office due to excessive drug trafficking and illegal immigrants coming across America’s northern and southern borders.

Canada’s border is secure? That’s a delusional statement.

Open Borders Tripled Child Prostitution

“Children, boys and girls, are being sold for sex,” Tara Rodas, a whistleblower from the Department of Health and Human Services, told Congress. “Just last month I spoke with a care provider in Florida who told me about cases of migrant children as young as 8 with sexually transmitted diseases.”

Rodas, a former deputy to the director of the Federal Case Management Team at the Department of Health and Human Services, had been working on spotting red flags for child trafficking among the underage migrants who were being wrongly released to sponsors.

Record non-crime hate incidents even if ‘victim’ does not think it is one, police officers told

Police officers were instructed by bosses to record non-crime hate incidents, even in cases where the supposed victim did not believe a hate incident had taken place.

Lancashire Constabulary briefed officers in April 2019 that any interaction could be recorded as an incident if any one person “perceived” it as “motivated by prejudice or hostility”.

The internal briefing – released under freedom of information (FOI) laws – said this could be a relative, a neighbour or the “attending officer”.

Freeland says we’re in a ‘vibe-cession’ and she’s got the cure

OTTAWA — Federal Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland said on Monday that she hopes her government’s proposed GST holiday will help bridge the gap between Canada’s macroeconomic picture and historically stressed-out households by bringing good vibes to the latter.

“People have been talking about a ‘vibecession’… and the fact that Canadians just aren’t feeling that good,” Freeland told reporters at a press conference in Ottawa to promote the temporary sales-tax reprieve. “That’s shaping their economic behaviour in ways that are not great for the Canadian economy.”

BBC gives women’s footballer award to a guy

Mannish woman

The BBC has sparked controversy by naming a player who was banned from a tournament in 2022 for elevated testosterone levels as its BBC Women’s Footballer of the Year.

The Zambia striker Barbra Banda scored four goals at the 2024 Paris Olympics, including a hat-trick against Australia, and has also been a leading player for Orlando Pride.

The 24-year-old was withdrawn from the 2022 Women’s African Cup of Nations after breaching testosterone limits. She has been able to compete in the World Cup and Olympics because Fifa and the International Olympic Committee both allow more leeway.
