Hollywood star Jane Fonda is hitting the campaign trail for Kamala Harris on the belief that the Harris-Walz ticket will slash fossil fuels by half in order to address what the actress called the “climate emergency.”
Speaking to CBS News on Monday, Jane Fonda put her climate activism front and center, while also proudly discussing her role as a Democrat political influencer.
The son of alleged would-be Donald Trump assassin Ryan Wesley Routh was arrested Tuesday morning on child pornography charges after the feds found hundreds of sick images when they searched his phone following his dad’s arrest.
Oran Routh is accused in a North Carolina federal court of receiving and posessing child porn — a fact which the feds discovered on Sept. 21 when they were searching his Greensboro home in connection to a separate investigation, according to a criminal complaint.

MPs on the House of Commons foreign affairs committee are expected to resume a contentious debate later this morning on the quickest path for Canada to recognize a Palestinian state.
The text of the motion — first presented to a closed-doors session of the committee last Thursday by Liberal MPs — asks committee members to dedicate four sessions to studying the matter, sources told CBC News last week.
CBC News agreed not to identify the sources as they were not authorized to comment publicly on the matter.

Former Conservative Leader Erin O’Toole told the Foreign Interference Commission about a suspected influence attempt that involved being repeatedly approached by a “flirtatious” Chinese woman.
O’Toole recounted two incidents he believes may have involved foreign interference, according to a summary of interviews with commission counsel conducted in March and released on Sept. 18, which was first covered by Blacklock’s Reporter.
OTTAWA – The NDP is urging the Liberals to recognize Palestinian statehood, warning that a Conservative government would not protect international law in the Middle East.
NDP foreign affairs critic Heather McPherson is accusing the Trudeau government of lacking courage to advance its stated goal of helping a two-state solution, where Israel and a Palestinian country exist peacefully.
McPherson is calling for Canada to sanction far-right ministers in Israel who have suggested it would be justified to starve Palestinians and that some communities should be annihilated.

The latest Washington Week with The Atlantic, the journalistic political roundtable airing every Friday evening on tax-funded PBS, featured Atlantic magazine journalist Caitlin Dickerson accusing Donald Trump of not just racism, but using the rhetoric of “fascist neo-Nazi groups,” for his insistence on enforcing the borders and lowering immigration levels from certain world regions.
This is PBS in fall campaign mode, as in “don’t vote for the neo-Nazi!”
In early April, 10 people from the Piapot First Nation showed up at the Arm River Hutterite colony just north of Regina, demanding a meeting with the colony’s farm manager, Paul Hofer.
Hofer says the group was led by Roland Crowe — a thin, feisty 81-year-old man with a shock of white hair and an air of authority.
“If you look somebody in the eyes, you know exactly what he’s up to,” said Hofer. “He was up to no good.”
Donald Trump doesn’t know how to stop the war in Ukraine, despite claiming he could end it on his first day as US president, Volodymyr Zelensky has said.
In his harshest criticism yet of the Republican presidential nominee, the Ukrainian president also described Trump’s running mate JD Vance as “dangerous” and “too radical”.
“His message seems to be that Ukraine must make a sacrifice,” Mr Zelensky said of Mr Vance in an interview with the New Yorker magazine before he flew to the US to present his “Victory Plan” to the White House this week. “But I believe that we have shielded America from total war.”
