2 Canadians being ‘sent home immediately,’ removed from Olympic team after drone incident

An analyst and an assistant coach with Canada Soccer are being removed from the Canadian Olympic Team and “sent home immediately” from the prelude to this year’s Paris games, according to the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC).

“The COC is in contact with the IOC (International Olympic Committee) and in contact with FIFA. Canada Soccer has been transparent and cooperative throughout the process,” a statement issued Wednesday by the COC reads, adding that further action may be taken as review of the incident continues.

Trump supporter, 80, putting up political sign in his front yard is run over in politically motivated attack

An elderly Trump supporter has been seriously hurt in a ‘politically motivated’ incident after being run over by an ATV while he was putting up a campaign sign in his yard.

The 80-year-old Michigan man sustained critical injuries after the vehicle plowed into him in front of his home in Hancock on Sunday.

The suspect was identified on Monday after he called police to confess to ‘a crime involving an ATV driver in the last 24 hours’, according to their statement.

Seized Mexican cartel ‘monster trucks’ destroyed

Officials in Mexico have destroyed 50 “monster trucks” used by cartels in their gun battles.

The vehicles, which are also referred to as “Frankenstein trucks” because of the modifications made to them – such as adding gun turrets and armoured plates – were seized by the security forces.

They belonged to a number of criminal organisation, including The Scorpions, a group of hitmen working for the Gulf Cartel.
