Too much tolerance is destroying the peace

I have always felt a white-hot hatred for those Harley clowns, in their clown costumes, who gratuitously rev their stone-age V-twin engines as you sit outdoors trying to have a conversation. The only proper response, I believe, would be for some good Samaritan with a baseball bat to walk up and test the efficacy of those little Nazi hats they call helmets.

The new thing is modern V8 muscle cars (Chargers, Challengers, Mustangs and Camaros) with exhaust cut-outs. They are deafening, and they are everywhere where I live in San Jose (which is not one of the genteel areas). They are also illegal, of course, but we no longer enforce laws in California. Nor, apparently, in New York. For those not satisfied with inflicting low-level hearing loss, a special Platinum Asshole feature is available on the aftermarket. It alters the engine’s spark and fuel map to deliberately induce explosive backfires that sound like a 12-gauge shotgun at close range.

14-year-old boy facing two counts of first-degree murder in connection with Rexdale shooting investigation

A 14-year-old boy has been charged in connection with a “mass shooting” that took the lives of two men and wounded three others earlier this month in north Etobicoke, police say.

The shooting happened at around 11 p.m. on June 2 in Rexdale.

Police say that a group of men were gathered outside North Albion Collegiate Institute following a soccer game when at least two suspects got out of a vehicle and began shooting “indiscriminately.”

Zelenskiy orders purge of state guard after assassination plots

June 24 (Reuters) – President Volodymyr Zelenskiy told the new chief of Ukraine’s state guard service to clear its ranks of people discrediting it after two of its officers were accused of plotting to assassinate senior officials.

The state security service (SBU) said last month that it had caught two guard service colonels accused of cooperating with Russia to plot the assassination of Zelenskiy and other officials, including military intelligence chief Kyrylo Budanov.

I do support Ukraine. However I suspect much is not being revealed.

Transphobic Iranian parliament proposes labeling Canadian army as terrorist group

Iranian lawmakers introduced a motion on Sunday to label the Canadian army a “terrorist” entity, according to the state-run Islamic Republic News Agency. This move follows Canada’s recent designation of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) as a terrorist organization.

The motion was presented during an open session in Tehran, where the Iranian parliament reacted to Canada’s declaration on Wednesday. The new measure mandates the Iranian government to categorize the Canadian army and affiliated armed and security forces as “terrorist” organizations.
