Rutgers gender study professor tells seminar that it’s ‘homophobic and violent’ to flag how badly LGBT people are treated in Gaza

A Rutgers University professor told a seminar discussing the Israel-Hamas conflict that it is ‘violent’ and ‘homophobic’ to raise the issue of how LGBT people are treated in Gaza.

Maya Mikdashi, associate Professor of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at New Jersey’s State University, told students earlier this month that she has been approached by people at pro-Palestine protests who tell her that she would be treated horribly by Hamas.

‘So I’ve been at protests where I’m then told “don’t you know what Hamas would do to you, if you were in Palestine”,’ she said.

Carbon price is a ‘tough political battle,’ Eco-Nutter says ahead of huge theft of citizen’s money

Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault says the carbon price remains a “tough political battle” as the controversial decision to keep raising the price is set to kick in on Monday.

Guilbeault told The West Block host Mercedes Stephenson that the increase does more financial good than harm for average Canadians, and is necessary to solve climate change.

“We have a plan that is balanced, that is asking big polluters to do more — way more — than Canadians, but Canadians also have a contribution. We all have a role to play,” he said.

Swastikas ‘need to be taken in context’, Met officer tells Jewish woman

Anti-Semitism campaigners have reacted with anger after a Metropolitan Police officer was filmed telling a Jewish woman that swastikas displayed during a pro-Palestinian march in London needed to be “taken in context”.

Footage uploaded to social media shows a Jewish woman complaining to an officer about placards bearing Nazi symbols being carried by anti-Israeli demonstrators.

Secret police report exposes Canada’s devastating economy

A new secret report by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police warns that the Canadian economy is expected to be “bleak” for the next several years under Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The report claims that living standards will continue to “decline” for “younger generations.”

While a significant portion of the report, which is labeled “Whole-of-Government Five-Year Trends for Canada,” is redacted, the report forecasts economic woes for Canada for at least the next five years.

The Americans now regard Canada as the other “Loony Bin Next Door.”

Video shows confrontation with Melanie Joly over Palestinian refugees

A video circulating on social media platforms this weekend showed Foreign Affairs Minister Melanie Joly in a tense confrontation with a man on the street in Montreal over the Israel-Hamas war.

The man who filmed the video implored Joly to “lift the cap on the number of Palestinian refugees” that Canada should welcome while she was walking on Laurier Street in the Mile End neighbourhood on Friday.
