Truck plows into crowd at LA street takeover
A pickup truck plowed into a crowd during an unruly ‘street takeover’ event in South Los Angeles, triggering a swarm of spectators to run towards the crash and film it.
The wreck happened at the intersection of Normandie Avenue and West Gage Avenue Friday night and was filmed live on the streaming platform Kick.

FIFA requested that employees working on the 2026 World Cup be exempt from certain labour laws as part of Toronto’s bid to co-host the tournament, a concession that raised the concerns of then-mayor John Tory, internal documents show.
Emails to and from city staff that the Star obtained through a freedom of information request confirm that FIFA, soccer’s global governing body, requested governments provide specific guarantees as part of Toronto’s application to hold the tournament.

Published by a “woke-free beer” company hastily launched last year as an alternative to Bud Light, the calendar was clearly meant to provoke liberals. But when photos of it began circulating online in December, progressives did not pay much attention. Instead, it sparked a heated squabble on the right over whether “conservative dads” who happen to be Christians should reject the calendar on moral grounds, or embrace it as an irreverent win for the good guys.

Toronto councillors push for more oversight on rising cost of hosting FIFA World Cup
The rising cost to host six FIFA World Cup soccer games in Toronto will come before city councillors this week, with some focused on preventing the price tag from rising further.
Council will dig into a report that shows the cost to taxpayers to host the 2026 matches has jumped by $80 million. Late last month, city staff said that the price shot up because of a variety of factors including inflation, security costs and the city being awarded six games instead of five as initially expected.
All for 6 crappy games and free tickets to the finals for a few local grandees their kids and clients.

So have Brampton-based Roshel’s proposed shipments of light armoured vehicles (LAVS) for federal police use in Bosnia, the company says, with applications for an export licence filed on Sept. 11, nearly a month before war broke out in the Middle East. The company says this indicates Ottawa’s delays in approvals are “systemic.”

WASHINGTON, March 16 (Reuters) – SpaceX is building a network of hundreds of spy satellites under a classified contract with a U.S. intelligence agency, five sources familiar with the program said, demonstrating deepening ties between billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk’s space company and national security agencies.
The network is being built by SpaceX’s Starshield business unit under a $1.8 billion contract signed in 2021 with the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO), an intelligence agency that manages spy satellites, the sources said.
