Michael Higgins: Student expelled for political views grilled over religious beliefs, choice of music

How hard can it be for a 17-year-old to get into school? Pretty hard, it turns out.

This week, Catholic school board officials interrogated Christian teen Josh Alexander about his Twitter account, a hit country song, firearms and mask mandates during a meeting about whether he will be allowed to go back to class.

Portland trans activist ‘destroyed and defecated inside teen girl’s car over ‘transphobia’ claims

Vivian Shemansky aka The Shittiest Tranny

A Portland transgender activist faces a slew of charges for allegedly defecating and ransacking a teen girl’s car after claiming she was ‘transphobic.’

Vivian Shemansky, 44, allegedly flew into a frenzy after the 17-year-old, Jade, parked near her tent in a parking lot on August 27. After Shemansky allegedly first threw a stick at her, the teen returned to her car after just 10 minutes to find it covered in human waste with every window smashed.

The teen’s mother, Lisa Thomasson, told The Post Millenial that her daughter was ‘in tears’ when she discovered her destroyed car, which was written off due to the disgusting act as cops deemed it a ‘biohazard.’

Guilbeault crashes Conservative convention as Poilievre finds firmer footing in Quebec

QUEBEC CITY – Fresh from a visit to Beijing, Liberal Environment Minister Steven Guilbeault appeared at the doorstep of Quebec City’s convention centre on Friday to crash the Conservative party’s national convention and call leader Pierre Poilievre a climate denier.

“Frankly, it’s very easy to attack Pierre Poilievre on the environment,” Guilbeault said, adding that Poilievre is “someone who claims to be a political leader in 2023 who does not even believe in climate change, who does not believe that we should be doing anything about climate change”.

I’m betting Guilbeault got instructions from Xi.

German Museum Bans White People From ‘Colonialism’ Exhibit

A museum in Dortmund has come under fire after it was revealed that an exhibition on colonialism involved a section in which white people were specifically banned from entering, leading to accusations of racism from critics.

The “This is Colonialism” exhibition has a special space reserved for non-white people and has been going on every Saturday for several months, with organisers claiming that the policy is meant to provide a so-called “safe space” for black people and other minorities, a report from Euronews states.

Trudeau says he will testify with ‘enthusiasm’ if called as a witness at foreign interference inquiry

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said Friday he will “willingly” testify before the public inquiry into foreign election interference if he’s asked.

“Willingly and with very much enthusiasm,” Trudeau told reporters at a news conference in Singapore.

“I think it’s important for Canadians to know exactly everything this government has been doing in regards to foreign interference and to talk frankly about the challenges that we continue to face in our democracies around the world.”

Just don’t ask him about China.

Toronto to tax luxury home sales, asks province for sales tax amid budget crunch

Toronto city council voted to bring in a new surtax on high-value home sales while asking the provincial government for sales tax revenue to help tackle a looming budget crunch.

Mayor Olivia Chow says despite several steps council took during Wednesday’s meeting, the city needs help from the province and federal government to address an estimated $46.5 billion dollars in budget pressures over the next decade.

City council voted Wednesday to ask the province to use its authority to bring in a municipal sales tax for Toronto, or to give the city a portion of its existing Harmonized Sales Tax.

Caste discrimination could soon be banned in California. But the effort has been contentious

California lawmakers have cleared a bill that would explicitly ban caste discrimination in the state, sending it to the governor’s desk for signature.

State senators passed a bill on Tuesday that specifies caste as a subset of ancestry in the state’s civil rights statutes, which would give residents legal recourse against instances of caste discrimination. The measure, an amended version of a bill that originally passed the Senate in May, was approved by a vote of 31-5.

Liberty Safe is only too willing to work with the FBI

Liberty Safe produces residential and commercial gun safes, not just under its own name but also under the labels Cabela’s, Remington, and John Deere. For years, people buying the product were concerned about pragmatic things: a safe’s price, ability to hold their weapons, and resistance to theft. What they didn’t realize, though, was that Liberty Safe would hand over access codes the moment the FBI came a-knockin’ at safe owners’ doors. But that is exactly what it will do, and by its own admission, too.

Dutch Elections: Farmers Party Plummets As Greens Propose 75% Livestock Cull

The tide looks to be going out for agrarian populists in the Netherlands as recent polling shows the Dutch Farmers Movement (BBB) collapsing in the polls two months before national elections, as EU-backed Greens look to steady the boat on populist discontent.

The BBB was only founded in 2019 and, energised by the Netherlands’ running battle over the imposition of nitrogen quotas on the country’s agricultural sector, came in first in last March’s regional elections.

CBC stands to get largest share of cash from Online News Act, experts say

The CBC stands to receive the largest share of the $172-million the federal Online News Act is forecast to pump into Canada’s news sector, experts say, raising fears that the new legislation will make it harder for smaller news outlets to compete with the state-funded broadcaster.

The Online News Act, also known as Bill C-18, received royal assent in June and is scheduled to go into effect in December. It is designed to force the biggest online tech giants to compensate Canadian news organizations for posting or linking to their work.
