Government agencies including the FBI, DHS and NSA have their tentacles deep into US society and have amassed huge caches’ of “sensitive and intimate” data on citizens by “flouting the law” according to privacy advocates.
The startling overreach into citizens’ lives was flagged in a report to the Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines which has only just been declassified.

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre said Wednesday that Public Safety Minister Marco Mendicino should resign over his handling of convicted killer Paul Bernardo’s controversial prison transfer.
CBC News reported Tuesday that Mendicino’s office knew for months that one of Canada’s most high-profile murderers would be moved by Correctional Service Canada (CSC) to a medium-security institution.

Nottingham triple murder suspect a migrant ‘with history of mental health problems’
A West African migrant accused of the murders of three people in Nottingham yesterday is said to be refusing to answer questions from police – as he was described as having a history of petty drug dealing and mental health problems.
The 31-year-old, who is believed to have arrived in the country as a teenager and is not thought to be a refugee, is being questioned over the deaths of two students and a 65-year-old school caretaker – as well as the injuring of three others.

A new poll suggests only a third of Canadians support a proposal from Mississauga, Ont., to ask the federal government to change the lyrics of the national anthem.
The proposed resolution would ask Ottawa to alter the line that reads “O Canada! Our home and native land” to “O Canada! Our home on native land.”

Cops are ‘keeping an open mind’ over motive as they guard house near to where man and woman were stabbed to death by knifeman – before killer ‘murdered’ another victim and mowed down three with van
Counter terror police have raided two properties in Nottingham today after three people died and three others were injured in a ‘knife’ and van rampage – with cops saying they are keeping an ‘open mind’ over the motive for the attack.
The raid took place this afternoon around Ilkeston Road in a student area of the city, where a witness saw a young man and a young woman being stabbed by a black-clad attacker with a rucksack at 4am.
After the first attack, a third body was found on Magdala Street. Police were then called to another incident on Milton Street, where a van ran into three people who are now being treated in hospital.
