Construction consortium behind Eglinton Crosstown plans to sue and stop working with TTC: Metrolinx

The group of construction companies responsible for the Eglinton Crosstown LRT is planning to sue Metrolinx, in the latest road block for the project that has been plagued by delays, the provincial government agency says.

In a statement released Tuesday morning, Metrolinx said Crosslinx Transit Solutions (CTS) informed the government agency of its intention to litigate and stop working with the TTC, which will be responsible for operating the line when it’s up and running.

Toronto is a shit show.

Jamie Sarkonak: Rachel Notley’s cynical plan for ethnic enclaves in Alberta schools

School curricula are useful for teaching students. In Alberta, they’re also useful for buying votes.

At least for Rachel Notley’s New Democratic Party. In the run-up to the provincial election on May 29, the NDP has said it’ll create Filipino and Somali curricula for Albertan schools if elected. The Alberta NDP confirmed to me that these curricula would be full translations of the Alberta curriculum (rather than language courses) via spokeswoman Malissa Dunphy.

The idea would be to allow schools to teach a standardized Alberta curriculum in Tagalog, the national language of the Philippines, or Somali. Notley told a press conference last month that she would be open to expanding this to other languages too, like Yoruba, spoken in some western African countries.

MSNBC uses white liberal guest to explain that Hispanics are becoming ‘white supremacists’

The left obviously thinks that “white supremacy” is the boogeyman to scare the public into voting Democrats into permanent power. President Biden just told an overwhelmingly black audience that white supremacy is the “most dangerous terrorist threat” facing the country.

But I am unaware of white supremacists burning down cities the way that BLM-incited rioters did after George Floyd’s death of a drug overdose while in police custody. Nor have I ever met a white supremacist, at least none who would admit to such views, which are extremely unpopular even among the overwhelming majority of Caucasians.

Privately, Stellantis warned Justin Trudeau it could pull out of multibillion-dollar EV deal if Ottawa doesn’t pay more

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was warned last month that auto giant Stellantis might scrap a $5-billion electric-vehicle battery factory in Windsor if Ottawa refused to match U.S.-style subsidies given to Volkswagen in St. Thomas, Ont., the Star has learned.

In a letter dated April 19, the heads of Stellantis and Korea-based LG Energy Solution — the two companies in a joint venture — told Trudeau the project was in jeopardy if he did not honour what the company says was a promise in writing to close the “competitive gap posed by the U.S. legislation.”

Stellantis upped the ante Monday in a high-stakes negotiation that has been going on for months behind closed doors and halted construction on the facility that’s supposed to open next year and employ 2,500 workers.

Olivia Chow continues to grow her significant lead in the polls, while she and other top candidates prepare to square off tonight in the first major debate ahead of Toronto’s mayoral by-election next month.

A Forum Research poll conducted on Saturday found that 36 per cent of decided and leaning voters favoured Chow, up three percentage points from last weekend, when Forum conducted a similar poll over a two-day period.

I get the city is coming apart at the seams and people want answers but this is collective madness.

Chow’s election will be like pouring gasoline on a fire. Nothing will get better except the pocketbooks of Olivia’s toxic-left friends.

Kansas City, 5th Largest Murder Rate, Declares it’s a “Transgender Sanctuary City”

I don’t fully understand how this “sanctuary” from the ordinary laws of the land for a special protected population, illegal alien cartel members or child sexual mutilators, quite works, but shouldn’t the city first offer sanctuary to the people already living there from being murdered?

And yet the sanctuary cities like Chicago or New York City tend to be phenomenally dangerous places. It’s almost like the more dangerous a Democrat hellhole is, the more likely it is to declare itself a sanctuary.
