WNBA players demand to be paid what they’re worth

Yesterday, the WNBA had an All-Star game. This is an interesting concept because the WNBA actually has only one star: Caitlin Clark. The rest of the players are vengeful women who I’ve been told play about as well as high school boys. (I wouldn’t know myself, having never seen a game.)

What made the game newsworthy was that the women showed up in shirts emblazoned with the words “Pay Us What You Owe Us.” Considering that the WNBA has never turned a profit, they’ve just demanded a salary of ZERO.

Five Years Later, the Hagia Sophia Remains Occupied by Islamic Supremacists

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan recently proudly referenced the Hagia Sophia in a statement marking the fifth anniversary of its re-conversion in 2020 from a museum to a mosque, calling it “an act of liberation.” He boasted, “Hagia Sophia will remain free forever.”

The story of the architectural marvel known as the Hagia Sophia spans nearly 1,500 years. From its origins as a Christian basilica to its conversion into a mosque, then a museum, and back to a mosque, the Hagia Sophia stands as an epic monument to the rise and fall of empires, the ongoing clash of faiths, and the politics of identity.

This one thing could affect whether Canadians survive or thrive. Are you ready for the next great political revolution?

Politics, like any market, is driven by supply and demand. Political parties supply ideas, policies, leadership. Voters create demand based on their needs, hopes, or fears. When the two align, the system works. When they don’t, it creates space for something new: a movement, a backlash, a realignment.

I believe Artificial intelligence could be the next mismatch and create the next backlash or even a political revolution.

A few months ago, we asked Canadians whether “unleashing artificial intelligence” would be good or bad for them personally. It was the only idea we tested where more thought it would make their lives worse, not better.

Swedish Priest Under Media Fire for Refusing To Wear Rainbow Vestment

Multiple leftist media outlets attacked Swedish pastor Håkan Persson, the parish priest of Markaryd, after a recent social media post in which he criticized the new rainbow-colored, LGBT-friendly vestments designed to be the symbol of the progressivism of the Church of Sweden.

In his Facebook post, Persson stated that the rainbow-colored chasuble and stole, designed at the initiative of the Västerås diocese, “will not enter Markaryd’s church as long as I am vicar.”

Jesse Kline: Give 16-year-olds the vote? Only if you want never-ending socialism

If you think politics is bad now, just wait till an army of pimple-faced teenagers who get most of their “news” from TikTok are given a say over who’s in charge.

This week, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced that his Labour government will introduce legislation to enfranchise 16- and 17-year-olds before the next general election in the summer of 2029.

Sexual Politics

Why men and women are diverging ideologically, even as they become more alike economically and educationally.

In most wealthy nations, women have steadily closed the gap with men in education, income, and professional achievement. Today, they earn the majority of undergraduate and graduate degrees, including doctorates. More than half of all STEM degrees now go to women, and their presence in the tech industry has grown—from 31 percent in 2019 to 35 percent in 2023. In major metropolitan areas like Boston, New York, Los Angeles, and Washington, D.C., women under 30 now match or outearn their male peers.

Given these gains, one might expect that as men and women converge in education and income, their cultural values and outlook on the world would also grow more aligned. Yet the opposite seems to be happening.

A Push for More Organ Transplants Is Putting Donors at Risk

People across the United States have endured rushed or premature attempts to remove their organs. Some were gasping, crying or showing other signs of life.

A surgeon made an incision in her chest and sawed through her breastbone.

That’s when the doctors discovered her heart was beating. She appeared to be breathing. They were slicing into Ms. Hawkins while she was alive.

Last spring at a small Alabama hospital, a team of transplant surgeons prepared to cut into Misty Hawkins. The clock was ticking. Her organs wouldn’t be usable for much longer.

Days earlier, she had been a vibrant 42-year-old with a playful sense of humor and a love for the Thunder Beach Motorcycle Rally. But after Ms. Hawkins choked while eating and fell into a coma, her mother decided to take her off life support and donate her organs. She was removed from a ventilator and, after 103 minutes, declared dead.

Corporate Media Disregards Russia Hoax Revelations

Most major news outlets are turning a deaf ear to DNI Tulsi Gabbard as she reveals Obama’s role in the hoax.

A recent Rasmussen poll revealed that 60 percent of Democrats still believe the debunked claim that President Trump’s campaign colluded with the Russians to win the 2016 election. Can such people be disabused of this delusion by DNI Tulsi Gabbard’s Friday revelation that former President Obama helped launch that hoax in an attempt to undermine the first Trump administration? Not if they still listen to the legacy media. Gabbard has the receipts and plans a criminal referral to the Department of Justice, yet the news outlets that peddled the Russia collusion hoax dismiss her charges.

We’re not just outsourcing ships. We’re outsourcing opportunity

On June 10, B.C. Ferries announced it would buy four new vessels from a Chinese shipyard. Unsurprisingly, the decision was met with disappointment and frustration.

And for good reason.

Despite the massive public investment, there is little benefit for B.C. workers, local shipyards and domestic steel producers.

Canada’s shipbuilding industry has been hollowed out by decades of offshoring.
