On June 18, the Qatari-owned Al-Jazeera TV network (in Arabic) broadcast another “exclusive” video of a speech by Abu Obaida, the masked spokesman of the Iran-backed Palestinian terror group Hamas.
This is the group that started the current war in the Gaza Strip, when thousands of its members invaded Israel on October 7, 2023, murdering 1,200 Israelis and foreign nationals and wounding thousands. Another 251 Israelis and foreign nationals were kidnapped to the Gaza Strip, where 50 are still held captive. At least 20 of those hostages are believed to be alive.
Stellantis, the maker of Jeep and Ram vehicles, says its preliminary estimates show a 2.3-billion euro (nearly $3.7-billion Cdn) net loss in the first half of the year due to U.S. tariffs and some hefty charges.
The head of Canada’s Automotive Parts Manufacturers’ Association (APMA) says plants like those in Windsor and Brampton, both in Ontario, can’t survive that kind of storm.
The automaker anticipates an impact of about 300 million euros (about $480 million) for net tariffs incurred, and also expects planned production losses related to implementing its response plan.
I doubt that EV Battery plant will ever be finished.
Big U.S. EV battery makers are stepping back from the market that got them started and betting on a new set of customers in an entirely different business.
Instead of carmakers, these companies have started making batteries for utilities, wind- and solar-power developers, and massive data centers that train artificial intelligence.
Selling large, stationary batteries for “energy storage systems,” or ESS, used to be a niche market that wasn’t worth much attention, said Jaehong Park, an executive at the battery arm of South Korean conglomerate LG.
“ESS was the ugly duckling for a long time within our organization,” Park said.
Note that none of this activity is occurring in Canada. Our government EV Battery play is running out of juice.
Roman Baber started by saying he came “humbly” and “respectfully.” Later, the Conservative MP let them know what he truly thought.
“Children will be picking up needles. This is on you. You have not consulted any of us,” the representative for York Centre told City Hall’s planning and housing committee.
Making things worse means they can demand more money by threatening things will get worse. That’s how ChowTown works.
BRUSSELS (AP) — Belgian police questioned two members of the Israeli army who were attending a music festival in Belgium over allegations of serious violations of international humanitarian law in Gaza, the Federal Prosecutor’s Office in Brussels said in a statement Monday.
In a statement to The Associated Press, the Israeli Foreign Ministry said an Israeli citizen and an Israeli soldier who were on vacation in Belgium “were taken in yesterday for interrogation and were released shortly afterward.” It said Israeli authorities “dealt with this issue and are in touch with the two.”
I bet the LPC is salivating at the prospect of imitating Belgium.

About 100 households awaiting an eviction decision over a two-year rent strike say they rejected their landlord’s final settlement offer because it would “silence” them if future issues were to arise.
The tenants at 71, 75 and 79 Thorncliffe Park Dr. stopped paying landlord Starlight Investments in 2023, claiming the landlord purposely left their apartments in disrepair and gave them unfair, unaffordable above-guideline rent increases (AGIs). The landlord said the AGIs were necessary to cover improvements to the building.
When settlement talks ordered by the Landlord and Tenant Board (LTB) broke down at the end of March, the landlord continued pursuing eviction, with hearings taking place over four days in June. A decision could come within weeks or months.
This is the heart of Mosqueteria land. It will be interesting to see how the Board rules.
The Thorncliff Park neighborhood in Toronto, ON, Canada has the most densely populated Muslim community in North America. Entire condo units have been converted into small mosques!
U.S. shipping and navigation services company Matson surprised customers in recent days by announcing new policies that halt all electric vehicle shipments due to the fire risk posed by lithium-ion batteries. This comes after the Morning Midas—a RoRo carrier transporting EVs and hybrids—erupted in flames early last month in the Pacific and subsequently sank.
Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard just lit a fuse under the deep state—and it’s about time.
Appearing Sunday on “Sunday Morning Futures” with Maria Bartiromo, Gabbard dropped a stunning accusation: that Barack Obama personally directed a “treasonous conspiracy” to undermine Donald Trump’s presidency before it even began. And now, according to Gabbard, the floodgates are opening—whistleblowers who were sickened by what they witnessed are starting to come forward.
For months now, consumers across North America have been wondering: Where’s the inflation? With tariffs making headlines constantly — particularly under the Trump administration — many expected food prices to spike. Yet, grocery bills haven’t exploded. Not yet.
The shocking scale of serious crime committed by migrants living in hotels in communities across Britain can be revealed by The Mail on Sunday today.
An investigation by this newspaper has revealed that at least 312 asylum seekers have been charged with an astonishing 708 alleged criminal offences in just three years – including rape, sexual assault, attacking emergency workers and theft.
The Home office said, ‘Removal of foreign national offenders is up by 14% since the last election, and we are also taking action through our Border Security Bill to cancel the asylum claims of anyone convicted of a sex offence.’

The federal Auditor-General’s office is planning an audit of the international student program, which has been mired in controversy over a rapid influx of foreign students in recent years.
A spokesperson for the office confirmed to The Globe and Mail that there will be an audit, and a report is expected to be tabled in Parliament next year.
Carney will continue with cosmetic cuts to immigration but the Great Replacement scam will go on.
Masked rioters clash with police after attacking motorists in French city of Limoges
Officials in Limoges on Saturday said nine officers were injured in overnight clashes with masked assailants wielding metal bars and Molotov cocktails who attacked motorists on one of the main roads into the central city. France’s interior ministry said it was deploying a riot police unit to support local law enforcement.
… Mayor Emile Roger Lombertie called the rioters an “urban guerrilla group”.
“They’re organised, structured, there’s a plan, weapons,” he said.
“This was not a spontaneous protest to complain about something. No pretext, nothing. It’s about destroying things and showing the territory belongs to you,” Lombertie added.

We should be working together to counter China, not trapped in a harmful trade war.
When President Trump withdrew the U.S. from the Trans-Pacific Partnership in 2017, I was profoundly disappointed. In 2015, as Canada’s minister of international trade, I helped negotiate the ambitious agreement that set high standards for the global economy and countered China’s influence in the Asia-Pacific region. It was more than a trade deal—it was a strategic blueprint for shared prosperity and security among like-minded nations.
That withdrawal signaled a larger shift. The Trump administration over its two terms has steadily retreated from the multilateral, rules-based order the U.S. had built since World War II. It has refused to appoint judges to the World Trade Organization’s appellate body, effectively paralyzing the system that enforces global trade rules. It has turned to tariffs as a blunt instrument of coercion, wielding them against strategic competitors like China and longtime partners such as Canada.
Canada is riddled with ChiCom interference, not sure the USA would risk its security any further than it has with Canada’s Liberal government.
Fernando Ramirez was 23 when, on June 15, 2019, he entered a Whole Foods Market in Laguna Beach and sucker-punched a 26-year-old Black employee who’d been on a lunch break, breaking the man’s nose and severely damaging his two front teeth, according to reports at the time of the incident.
When asked by an officer why he did it, Ramirez said in a conversation recorded on video that it was, in part, because the worker was Black, and that “he hated all Black people,” court records show.
