Online terror content is a national security crisis

The Times reported this week that thousands of social media accounts connected to terror groups, including Iran-backed Hezbollah and the Houthis in Yemen, have been allowed to operate freely on mainstream platforms. While everyone can see what is posted on Instagram and X, it’s much harder to tell the extent of the problem on encrypted services such as Telegram and WhatsApp.

Grooming gangs, multiculturalism and the silence of the ‘progressive’ feminists

What happened to all the progressive feminists? At a time when the industrial-scale exploitation of girls across the UK has been back at the top of the news agenda, we have heard remarkably little from what you might call the professional feminist set.

Louise Casey’s audit on grooming gangs, published last week, was sufficiently explosive to force UK prime minister Keir Starmer to u-turn on his opposition to holding a national inquiry into the scandal. Of course, in many ways, the report merely underlined what victims, parents and a few brave journalists have been trying to communicate for decades: that vast swathes of young girls across the UK have been sexually exploited by grooming gangs, made up disproportionately by Pakistani Muslim men.

Mark Milke: Why the West’s separatists could be just as big a threat as Quebec’s

In light of the poor showing by separatist candidates in recent Alberta byelections, pundits and politicians will be tempted to again dismiss threats of western separatism as over-hyped, and too tiny to be taken seriously, just as they did before and after the April 28 federal election.

Much of the initial skepticism came after former Leader of the Opposition Preston Manning authored a column arguing that some in central Canada never see western populism coming. He cited separatist sympathies as the newest example.

The recycling scam laid bare in California’s leftist heartland

Our South Carolina neighborhood has green cans for garbage and blue cans for recycling. All our neighbors dutifully separate their garbage. We don’t, and we don’t for a very specific reason. What I discovered a couple of years ago is that, while different trucks drive around collecting blue and green cans on garbage day, at the end of the shift, the trucks dump all the garbage into the same landfill. It’s a scam that, according to my local representative, makes people feel good about themselves.

National security experts say Canada’s loose immigration system may have opened the floodgates to Iranian operatives bent on retaliation against the US

A shocking wave of Iranian regime insiders — including suspected members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) — have quietly moved to Canada in recent years, stoking fears of sleeper cells poised to strike targets across North America.

The explosive revelation comes amid heightened tensions in the Middle East, where a shaky ceasefire appears to be holding after America joined Israel’s 12-day bombing campaign of Iran’s nuclear program.

Now, national security experts say Canada’s loose immigration system may have opened the floodgates to Iranian operatives bent on retaliation — and that the threat could extend across the border into the US.

Welcome to Iran North.

A logging protest in the treetops ends in terror, activists say

PORT ANGELES, Wash. — On the 40th night of the protest, a black Jeep drove up a logging road and stopped near the base of a towering grand fir.

For more than a month, environmental activists had been living on a platform some 80-feet up the trunk of that tree in an attempt to stop logging in the emerald foothills of the Olympic Peninsula. They had rigged a dunk-tank platform to cables that connected to a jumble of logs and brush strung across a dirt road on state land.

If anyone tried to break through the blockade, the platform could fall.

Now someone arrived who was ready to try.

GEIST: Ottawa’s latest bill could force your lawyer to rat you out

The government’s inclusion of warrantless information demand powers in Bill C‑2 has attracted mounting concern, particularly the stunning decision to target everyone who provides services in Canada — which creates near-limitless targets for warrantless disclosure demands.

Department of Justice officials have confirmed that Bill C‑2 extends far beyond just telecom companies to services such as financial institutions, car rental companies, and hotels. The inclusion of professional services that frequently face strict confidentiality obligations deserves greater scrutiny, as the approach virtually guarantees a constitutional challenge — alongside the privacy challenge — in light of Supreme Court of Canada rulings in Spencer and Bykovets.

1900 Scientists Say ‘Climate Change Not Caused By CO2’ – The Real Environment Movement Was Hijacked

Millions of people worldwide are concerned about climate change and believe there is a climate emergency. For decades we have been told by the United Nations that Carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from human activity are causing disastrous climate change. In 2018, a UN IPCC report even warned that ‘we have 12 years to save the Earth’, thus sending millions of people worldwide into a frenzy.

Thirty-five years ago, the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the (World Meteorological Organization) WMO established the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) to provide scientific advice on the complex topic of climate change. The panel was asked to prepare, based on available scientific information, a report on all aspects relevant to climate change and its impacts and to formulate realistic response strategies. The first assessment report of the IPCC served as the basis for negotiating the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC). Governments worldwide have signed this convention, thereby, significantly impacting the lives of the people of the world.

Michael Taube: Mark Carney leans European, but needs to buy American again

Prime Minister Mark Carney is seemingly in the process of moving Canada away from the United States — our longtime friend, ally and trading partner — and thrusting us into the waiting arms of the European Union. This is where he believes Canada, which he describes as the “most European of non-European countries,” truly belongs. Yet his narrow-sighted approach to the U.S. and EU could have devastating consequences.
