Amy Hamm: The rabbit rescue that refused to be cancelled for alleged transphobia

It’s June: the western world’s Holy Month of Pride, and, as such, we must all be on our best behaviour so as not to offend the delicate sensibilities of gender activists — you know, the ones that occupy the latter half of the expanding LGBTQ2S+ acronym.

Unfortunately, the United Kingdom’s Carrot Cottage Rabbit Rescue somehow missed this memo. The registered charity drew the ire of Irish comedian and transgender rights activist Aidan Comerford this week, following an online attack by anonymous activists whose work caught Comerford’s attention. Comerford, whose X bio notes that he “generally tweets about what transphobia looks like,” astutely observed that the charity was committing the cardinal sin of following unapproved social media accounts on X.

Scott Jennings Took an Ex-DNC Spokesperson to the Cleaners Over the Legality of Trump’s Iran Strikes

It happened: Operation Midnight Hammer was executed and took out Iranian nuclear facilities in Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordow last night. B-2 bombers took off from the continental United States to make the 18-hour journey to deliver their packages. It was glorious. The funny part at home is that Democrats likely know this was the right decision. It’s why the outcry, while loud with some folks, hasn’t been in unison, especially with top Democrats. As of now, I don’t believe Chuck Schumer has said anything.

What’s missing in Canada’s defence budget math

What does 2% of GDP for defence mean for Canada?

Compared to most NATO partners, Canada does not calculate its defence spending accurately, since it fails to include some defence-related components.

For instance, the RCMP budget along with the Canadian Coast Guard should be considered defence expenses and be included in the 2% calculations. Most NATO nations include police and coast guard expenses in their calculations of defence spending.

This is interesting Canada is not taking advantage of common NATO member budget expenditures in calculating the 2% spend requirement.

AI Won’t Terminate Us. It Will Just Render Us Irrelevant.

The future of AI won’t resemble The Terminator. Don’t expect devastating explosions or murderous drones. There won’t be metal skeletons stomping on skulls or glowing red eyes scanning resistance fighters. The real takeover will be quieter, colder, more efficient, and less bloody — but in many ways, far more brutal.

It will come with a soft chime, a helpful tone, a perfectly phrased suggestion: “Would you like me to do that for you?”

And most of us will say yes.

Stephen Fry could do with a lesson in ‘radicalisation’

Stephen Fry has accused J.K. Rowling of being ‘inflammatory and contemptuous’, ‘mocking’ and adding to ‘a terribly distressing time for trans people’. Fry, who narrated the Harry Potter audiobooks, has damned their author for saying ‘cruel’ and ‘wrong’ things and for failing to ‘disavow some of the more revolting and truly horrible, destructive – violently destructive – things that people say’. He suspects that she’s been ‘radicalised by Terfs’, charged her with kicking up ‘a hornet’s nest of transphobia which has been entirely destructive’, and dismissed her as ‘a lost cause’.

Might I interrupt this lengthy damnatio memoriae to point out that Fry is supposed to be Rowling’s friend and to venture that, if she deserves to be rebuked for anything, it’s her godawful taste in friends. Fry, Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson. The woman is like flypaper for airheads, dilettantes, and abject ingrates.

More Canadians want to join the military, but enlisted members keep leaving

CAF Transgender Tank

Interest has spiked in the Canadian military, with recruitment levels hitting their highest point in a decade. But as more people walk in the door, thousands of enlisted members are deciding to walk out.

Numbers obtained by Global News show the retention crisis worsened year over year, as Prime Minister Mark Carney who is attending the NATO summit in Brussels, vows to rebuild the Armed Forces and reduce Canada’s dependence on the U.S.

My guess is that the CAF are simply not Transgender friendly enough. They should just outright ban heterosexuals.

Former Nickelodeon Star JoJo Siwa Felt Pressured by LGBTQ Mob to Come Out as a Lesbian at 17

Jojo Siwa, the former Dance Moms star and pop sensation, says she came out as lesbian at 17-years-old after initially identifying sexually as a pansexual due, in part, from “pressure” from the LGBTQIAA+ community.

“When I came out at 17, I said, ‘I’m pansexual, because I don’t care [about gender].’ But then I kind of boxed myself in and I said, ‘I’m a lesbian.’ And I think I did that because of the pressure,” Siwa said in a recent interview with the Daily Mail.

Canada is facing a housing crisis. Could it take a page from Europe?

Slavica Salihbegovic’s family was growing. So she did what anyone living in Vienna would do: She asked the city for a bigger apartment.

“At that time, I was pregnant with my first kid,” she said. “I lived in a two-room apartment … it was an OK building, but it was small for us.”

Salihbegovic went to an online portal, entered her income and requirements, and was ranked alongside thousands of other residents. Soon, she was assigned a new apartment: a three-bedroom unit in a brand-new building, adjacent to Vienna’s Central Station.

We have subsidized housing. My guess is that Austria’s social housing has not been made stronger by diversity.

Federal Transport Minister Freeland slams B.C. Ferries deal with Chinese company

B.C. Ferries has drawn the ire of federal Transport Minister Chrystia Freeland for its decision to contract a Chinese state-owned shipyard to build four new vessels for its passenger fleet.

Freeland also expressed concerns about security risks related to the contract.

In a letter to B.C.’s Transportation Minister Mike Farnworth released Friday afternoon, Freeland expressed her “great consternation and disappointment” with the ferry operator.

Guess she didn’t get her cut.

Shock Poll: 47% of Dems Demand a Third Party. So WHEN Will the Rebellion Begin?

Here’s a dirty little secret about the PR profession: The PR experts in private practice think the PR “experts” who work for politicians, political parties, and government agencies are a bunch of low-watt bulbs. There are exceptions, of course, but as a general rule, the most productive, outside-the-box creative, high-energy PR minds are exclusively in the private sector. The ones who accept government jobs, alas, tend to be lazy, bureaucratic, and full of roadblocks — and good Lord, forget about reaching ‘em after 5 p.m.!
