AOC, furious Dems call for Trump to be impeached over Iran strikes

Progressive Squad Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and a chorus of Democrats called on President Trump to be impeached after he decided to bomb top nuclear facilities of Iran — blasting the move as “unconstitutional.”

“The President’s disastrous decision to bomb Iran without authorization is a grave violation of the Constitution and Congressional War Powers,” Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) declared not long after Trump announced the attack.

What we know about US strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities

President Donald Trump says the US has carried out a “successful” bombing attack on three nuclear sites in Iran and said they have been “obliterated”.

Israel says they were in “full co-ordination” with the US in planning the strikes. Iranian officials have confirmed the facilities were struck but denied it had suffered a major blow.

The strikes mark a significant escalation in the ongoing war between Iran and Israel.

How Iran could retaliate after US strike

Ahead of Donald Trump’s strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, his defence chiefs will have war-gamed possible retaliation.

Washington has put its 40,000 troops deployed in the Middle East, including in the United Arab Emirates, Jordan and Saudi Arabia, on high alert amid escalating tensions.

Now that America has attacked key Iranian nuclear sites with what is reported to be six bunker buster munitions, US defence chiefs will be bracing for a response.

Dearborn may as well be Tehran. The GTA is host to a strong network of SHIA Mosques.

Mark Carney’s minority government has an unexpected partner in the Conservatives — for now

OTTAWA—There’s a new coalition in town.

If the last Parliament was dominated by the Conservatives’ insistence that the Liberal-NDP alliance had spun the country into an irreversible state of disarray, the opening weeks of the latest session has put a new pact on the map.

“It appears to me, and it remains to be seen, that (Prime Minister) Carney’s new majority coalition is Liberal-Conservative, delivering Pierre Poilievre’s policies with a more friendly face,” said the Green Party’s Elizabeth May on Monday, as she raised the alarm over C-5, the Liberals’ major projects bill.

London’s graffiti-riddled corpse is a warning of our apocalyptic future

It is a short walk from my door to one of London’s busiest arteries. The first two minutes of the walk are usually pleasant, especially in summer, when a luscious thatch of untrimmed leaves bow down from the road’s many trees. There is the occasional roar of an accelerating driver drunk on testosterone and the odd shouting voice, but mostly it’s people padding along with their dogs and neighbours chatting.

But then the idyll ends. The road that leads up to the Tube station and the artery has a major bus stop, a rubbish collection point, a taxi rank, and a Deliveroo rider rank. This culminates in one of London’s most persistent homeless encampments, with tents, begging, traipsing, drug-taking, drinking and Tube loitering. The permanent residence for two cackling women is a stinking underpass. There are more stragglers and smells in the unavoidable (above ground) cement passage required to rejoin the pavement going north.

Russia ‘using nuns as spies to spread propaganda’

The Kremlin is using nuns at a remote convent in the Baltic region to spread pro-Russian propaganda for its hybrid war on Europe, Estonia’s government has warned.

Estonian officials say the Pühtitsa Convent in eastern Estonia, which claims it has renounced all worldly affairs, is promoting a pro-Putin narrative that claims religious freedoms are under threat in the West.

Nuns at the Russian Orthodox convent are in an ongoing dispute with the Estonian government over a new law that requires them to sever ties with Patriarch Kirill of Moscow, the church’s spiritual leader and an ardent supporter of the war on Ukraine.

US has bombed three nuclear sites in Iran, Trump announces: ‘Now is the time for peace’

The US military dropped six “bunker buster” bombs on Iran’s Fordow nuclear enrichment plant Saturday night — with President Trump declaring the facility hidden beneath a mountain “is gone.”

Trump announced the airstrikes days after Israel initiated extensive attacks on Iran’s nuclear infrastructure and military.

“We have completed our very successful attack on the three Nuclear sites in Iran, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. All planes are now outside of Iran air space,” Trump posted on Truth Social just before 8 p.m. Saturday — marking the first-ever US strike on Iranian territory.

SLOBODIAN: Finally, a win for veteran pro-life campaigner Linda Gibbons

After sitting in jail since February 13, pro-life grandmother Linda Gibbons, 76, was freed last Monday when found not guilty of breaking the law by protesting outside Toronto’s Morgentaler Clinic abortion mill.

Did she stop traffic? Burn the Canadian flag? Shoot up or smash windows? Throw Molotov cocktails? Set vehicles ablaze? Get in cops’ faces to defiantly taunt them? Perhaps chant vicious death threats?

What Left Behind Left Out About Israel, Prophecy, And War

When I finished reading Left Behind, I was fully convinced of the central role Israel played in God’s plan for the nations. I was only 15 years old, but my imagination had been captured. Israel, in my mind, was the ticking clock of prophecy. To question this was to question God Himself.

Fast forward 23 years.

A concise explanation of a contentious topic concerning Israel and Protestantism.

I asked Grok …. What is the Catholic Church’s view of Israel? Is it dispensationalist?

The Catholic Church’s view of Israel is rooted in its theological understanding of salvation history, the covenant, and the relationship between Judaism and Christianity. It is not dispensationalist, as dispensationalism is a Protestant theological framework that the Catholic Church does not endorse.

Will the Israel-Iran war turn into a boots-on-the-ground fight?

Beautiful downtown Tehran

From the very git-go, and certainly after a few days of Israel’s attack on Iran’s military and nuclear leaders and infrastructure, it was fully obvious and well-known that no “deal” could resolve the Iran nuke problem. Given what we have come to understand about Donald Trump’s modus operandi, he probably knew this also.

But despite the irrelevance of a “deal,” there was widespread and abundant confidence in Trump’s ability to get the job done, and this was confirmed by the Day Three announcement that the IDF had achieved air superiority over Iran.

Conrad Black: Israel is delivering a lethal blow to global terrorism

We are at a decisive moment in the history of the Jews. “Never Again!” was the rallying cry of the Jewish people after approximately half the world’s Jews were gassed and incinerated in the death camps of the Third Reich, six million Jews, along with at least six-million non Jews who were also murdered by the Nazis (including three million Soviet POWs and as many as 500,000 Romani). The Jews did not have a state in the 25 centuries between the Persian occupation of the kingdom of Judea of Saul and David and Solomon, and the creation of the State of Israel as an explicitly Jewish country in 1948. For all of that time, the Jews were reviled as “rootless cosmopolitans, usurers and sharpers” because they were excluded from the professions. They had no place of safety from the perennial evils of antisemitism. As Jewish scholar Dara Horn has written, the world “loves dead Jews.” Those that retained a sense of optimistic goodwill, like Anne Frank, expiated the rest of us.

Iran: the cradle of Islamo-leftism

As Israel’s shadow war with Iran finally ignited into the open this month, the so-called progressives of the Western left were in no doubt where their allegiances lay. Not with the liberal democracy of Israel, but with the repressive autocracy of Iran.

On the streets of Western cities, self-identified radicals have been flying the flags of the Islamic Republic, while on the highways of social media, they have been indulging in their ritualistic denunciation of the ‘genocidal regime’ of Israel. No doubt they have also been cheering on every successful Iranian missile strike, just as some of them celebrated Hamas’s orgy of slaughter and rape in southern Israel on 7 October 2023.

The Big Lie: ‘Stolen Land’

Welcome to the bastardization of history.

Mob violence recently took place in L.A. and hundreds of other cities over Donald Trump’s efforts to obey the Constitution and “faithfully execute” the duties of the president, and carry out the laws by deporting illegal aliens. At the same time, Israel began a massive attack on Iran’s weapons and leaders in order to prevent that regime from acquiring nuclear weapons––which Iran now has a “zero- breakout-time” for achieving–– and fulfill the jihadists’ genocidal oath to “wipe Israel off the map,” as Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said in 2003.

Canada has put up with Khalistani terrorists for long enough

Monday, June 23, marks the 40th anniversary of the bombing of Air India Flight 182 — the deadliest terrorist attack in Canadian history, and the most lethal act of aviation terrorism in the world prior to 9/11. The bombing left 329 people dead, including 268 Canadians. The investigation into the attack is still “active and ongoing,” and is considered “one of the most complex domestic terrorism investigations” undertaken by the RCMP.

Inside the migrant gateway to Britain that staff say is a TINDERBOX

They are the first words uttered by boat migrants to British authorities after they set foot on our soil: ‘Where is the hotel?’

It is what they invariably say when they get off buses at the giant migrant reception camp on a former RAF base in Manston, Kent – the centre that processes all who arrive on traffickers’ boats.

We know this because, for the first time, whistleblowers at Manston have talked to the Mail in an investigation that lays bare in terrifying detail how overwhelmed staff struggle to adequately process the sheer numbers of migrants arriving on peak crossing days at Manston’s doors.
