Class action bid launched on behalf of refugees denied access to Toronto shelters

Two law firms and a legal clinic have filed a proposal for a multimillion-dollar class action lawsuit against the city on behalf of all refugee claimants who were denied access to shelter system beds between November 2022 and October 2023.

Acting on behalf of Wasiu Adekanmbi, a 40 year-old Nigerian refugee claimant, in a statement of claim filed last Friday, Black Legal Action Centre (BLAC), Lewis Litigation PC and Steiber Berlach LLP argue that the city preventing refugee claimants from accessing municipal shelter beds constituted a violation of Charter rights and freedoms, the Ontario Human Rights Code and amounts to “systemic negligence.”

French police probe possible first ‘anti-migrant terrorist’ killing

French prosecutors are investigating the murder of a Tunisian man by his white neighbour in the south of France, treating it as a suspected racially-motivated terrorist attack.

It is the first time that counterterrorism prosecutors have taken charge of an investigation into a killing allegedly committed by a far-right supporter. It came amid growing concern over hate crimes against Muslims in France after a Malian man was stabbed to death in a mosque in April.

The Tunisian man, Hichem Miraoui, was a 46-year-old hairdresser who had lived in France for 14 years. He was shot five times on Saturday by a 53-year-old boilermaker named as Christophe B in the southern town of Puget-sur-Argens, near the Riviera resort of Saint-Raphaël, prosecutors said. A 25-year-old Turkish man was also shot in the hand.

Things to come …

Toronto, soon …

Feral Cities

Western governments under increasing structural civilisational distress and having squandered their legitimacy are losing the ability to peacefully manage multicultural societies that are terminally fractured by ethnic identity politics. The initial result is an accelerating descent of multiple major cities into marginally ‘feral’ status as defined by Richard Norton in a 2003 essay in this way:

…a metropolis with a population of more than a million people in a state the government of which has lost the ability to maintain the rule of law within the city’s boundaries yet remains a functioning actor in the greater international system.

Reprimanded BC Nurse Faces Potential $163,000 Legal Cost From Nursing College Over Gender Remarks

A British Columbia nurse found guilty of professional misconduct for remarks made online about gender issues may now be asked by the provincial nurses’ college to pay more than $163,000 in legal fees.

The BC College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM) determined in a March 13 ruling that Amy Hamm was guilty of “unprofessional conduct” and could now request the nurse pay $163,053 to reimburse the legal costs associated with the inquiry into her comments. The college is also looking at suspending Hamm’s licence for three months.

The requests were submitted by BCCNM lawyer Michael Seaborn to the disciplinary panel on May 29.

Less than half of Toronto residents approve of Mayor Olivia Chow’s performance, according to a new poll.

Slightly less than half (48 per cent) of people strongly or somewhat approved of her performance, while 42 per cent said they strongly or somewhat disapproved. Another 10 per cent said they were not sure.

FBI files show targeting of Catholic groups was bigger than Biden-era officials acknowledged

The Biden-era FBI concealed the extent of its anti-Catholic operation, which then-FBI Director Christopher A. Wray told Congress was limited to a single 2023 memo, according to newly revealed bureau documents.

The FBI files were obtained by Senate Judiciary Chairman Charles E. Grassley and shared first with The Washington Times.

The files show that the agency was engaging in a bureau-wide investigation of “Radical Traditionalist Catholics,” though the episode was characterized by Mr. Wray and other top FBI officials as a one-off memo.

High immigration is worsening Canada’s economic problems, says report

By overseeing one of the most dramatic immigration surges of modern times, Canada has cratered housing affordability, kneecapped productivity and concealed the true state of its economic growth, according to a new profile by the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

The OECD is a club of 38 countries that effectively comprise the developed world. Every two years, each member state receives a comprehensive “economic survey” prepared by OECD economists.

Canada is Banana Republic. I am not kidding. A criminal cabal is in charge.

Immigration was horribly abused by Politicians and Corporations to line their pockets at our expense.

It never made economic sense to flood Canada with unskilled 3rd World migrants.

It only ever made sense if your goal was to profit from the economic and social hardship caused by mass immigration.

I hope Trump invades.

How China Is Quietly Outsmarting the West

Even Canada has acknowledged the presence of secret Chinese police stations masquerading as outreach centers.

There is something unsettling about modern silence. The hum of a solar panel. The blink of a router. The quiet whirr of an inverter behind a barn. These things do not shout. They wait. And increasingly, they listen.

This month, two reports — one from Reuters, the other from The Times (U.S.) — confirmed what security analysts long feared and policymakers chose to ignore: the Chinese Communist Party has embedded itself into Western infrastructure.
