U.S. President Donald Trump said the conviction of Marine Le Pen and her exclusion from the presidential election was a “very serious matter”.

“This is a really big deal,” said the U.S. president on Monday when asked about Le Pen’s conviction yesterday, which saw her sentenced to two years in prison and two years of house arrest, in addition to a complete ban from running for office for five years.

United Nations report recommends Canada repeal MAID for people without terminal illnesses

A United Nations committee reviewing Canada’s treatment of disabled people is calling on Ottawa to repeal medical assistance in dying for anyone without a terminal illness, a procedure referred to as the “Track 2” option for MAID.

The new report from the Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities also recommends Canada create a federal MAID watchdog to investigate complaints, and that the country invest heavily in addressing the systemic failures that lead disabled people to apply for assisted death in the first place.

Does the US Government Have the Right to Condition Funding to Universities?

Many left-wing university faculty members (a redundancy if there ever was one) are rebelling against the Trump administration’s threat to cut federal funding to universities that tolerate antisemitic actions against their Jewish students. They condemned the acting president of Columbia for accepting some of the administration’s conditions for restoring the $400 million that it threatened to cut, and she was forced to resign.

The faculty members are making the absolutist claim that it is always a denial of academic freedom for governments to pressure universities with a cut-off of funding. In making this broad claim, they ignore the lessons of history and the single standard of morality.

HUNTER: Consequences an obscene word in youth justice world

The iron ore pellet rocketed from my slingshot, shattering the window of a K-Car being transported east by rail.

My friends and I split el pronto, fully aware there would be dire consequences if we were nabbed. And in the late 1970s, there would have been hell to pay — court, maybe reform school, and a very, very bad scene at home.

Today, “consequences” is not in the lexicon of aspiring underage criminals.

Elon Musk shared a chart during a get-out-the-vote rally in Wisconsin over the weekend, which he claimed showed millions of noncitizens received Social Security numbers during former President Joe Biden’s tenure.

The event came just a day-and-a-half before polls opened in a contentious state judicial race.

Off to Canada: MSNBC Applauds Far-Left Academic’s Anti-U.S. Theatrics

Jason Stanley Left Wing Lunatic

MSNBC’s Ana Cabrera Monday invited Jason Stanley, Yale University’s so-called “fascism expert” and the author of How Fascism Works: The Politics of Us and Them, to mouth off about why he was supposedly moving to Canada. Stanley claimed he was doing so over Columbia University’s “capitulation” to the Trump administration in cracking down on overt anti-Semitism on campus, and cynically used the fact that he’s Jewish and was raising his children as Jews to somehow back up his incoherent position.

This genius is fleeing the USA because he’s Jewish and coming to Canada which is currently enjoying its Liberal-Left Kristallnacht era.

Federal union holding off on endorsement as Carney, Poilievre eye public service cuts

The president of Canada’s largest federal union says it’s not endorsing any party yet in this election but is keeping a close eye on how the parties plan to protect public services.

Sharon DeSousa, national president of the Public Service Alliance of Canada, said PSAC will be ranking the party leaders based on their platforms and stated support for the public service and will share those rankings online in the coming weeks.

What a farce, we all know the LPC will promise them all of your money and beyond.

Bondi instructs prosecutors to seek death penalty for Luigi Mangione

Attorney General Pam Bondi Tuesday instructed prosecutors to seek the death penalty for Luigi Mangione, who stands accused of killing UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson late last year.

“Luigi Mangione’s murder of Brian Thompson — an innocent man and father of two young children — was a premeditated, cold-blooded assassination that shocked America,” Bondi said in a statement.

Hamas ‘quietly drops’ thousands of deaths from casualty figures

Claims that 70 per cent of the fatalities are women and children are complete nonsense, says report

New research shows that Hamas has quietly dropped thousands of deaths from its Gaza war casualty figures.

Salo Aizenberg, from the US-based non-profit organisation Honest Reporting, said that Hamas’s March 2025 casualty update had removed thousands of people it previously listed as having been killed last year.

“Hamas’s new March 2025 fatality list quietly drops 3,400 fully “identified” deaths listed in its August and October 2024 reports—including 1,080 children. These “deaths” never happened. The numbers were falsified—again,” Mr Aizenberg wrote.

The Eurasia Group’s fingerprints are everywhere and still no one seems interested in posing the question: who are these guys?

The difference between journalism and stenography isn’t the ability to report on the news: it’s the drive to discover what’s behind the easily seen and heard.

Stories that reveal where decisions are made – where power and influence are vested – are the ones that give context to the events of the day. They are the reports that lead to an informed public and present readers with the value propositions required for them to subscribe. And to trust.

Pentagon Eliminates Lower Fitness Standards for Women in Combat Roles

The Pentagon this week ordered the elimination of lower physical fitness standards for women in combat units, a move that is likely to hinder the recruitment and retention of women in particularly dangerous military jobs.

An order by Pete Hegseth, the defense secretary, dated Sunday and announced on Monday, mandated that all physical fitness requirements for combat arms positions — units likely to see significant fighting in wartime — be “sex-neutral,” which is likely to significantly reduce the number of women who meet the requirements. The order directs military leadership to implement the new fitness standards by the end of October.
