CBSA says it’s unclear what more Canada can offer to the U.S. to avoid tariffs

The head of the Canada Border Services Agency says it’s not clear what more Canada could offer to the United States to once again avoid the imposition of punishing tariffs on Tuesday, even as a senior U.S. Cabinet member said Sunday that Canada has “done a reasonable job” of securing the border.

Canadian authorities have pledged a series of measures in response to criticism from U.S. President Donald Trump about the cross-border movement of fentanyl and migrants into the U.S. Ottawa said it will spend $1.3-billion over six years on a border plan that includes more dogs, scanners, drones and helicopters. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau appointed former RCMP deputy commissioner Kevin Brosseau to the newly created post of fentanyl czar last month.

United Nations Chief Warns Of Global Funding Crisis Due To US Cuts

The Trump Administration’s agency audits and funding cuts have a wide spectrum of people in a panic, not just in the US but around the world. For some this is not much of a revelation; it’s been known for decades that the US taxpayer backstops numerous governments and NGOs. Without US dollars many of these organizations (and some countries) would not exist. However, seeing the beggars all come out of the woodwork at the same time to get their cut of the pie because the money is running dry is truly something to behold.

Why has America become a cash cow for the entire world?

MORGAN: Let’s talk about Islam

‘We must begin by admitting there’s a problem.’

It’s time for the world to have a frank discussion about Islam and how it fits into modern societies that respect human rights. It’s an elephant in the room and ignoring it has real costs.

One of the worst examples was in Rotherham UK where young girls were recruited, groomed and raped for decades by gangs of Pakistani men. The Jay Report estimates over 1,400 young women were victims of these gangs. The number is likely much higher since so many of these crimes went unreported.

Putin unleashes Iskander-M missile attack to ‘sink container ship in Odesa carrying cargo of British weapons for Ukraine’

Vladimir Putin unleashed a missile strike to ‘sink’ a cargo ship amid unconfirmed Russian claims it was carrying British weapons for use by Ukraine.

Two Iskander-M ballistic missiles hit the Panama-flagged container ship MSC LEVANTE F – reportedly Swiss-owned – soon after it arrived in Odesa on March 1, after making a stop in Turkey.

Two port workers were believed to have been wounded in the strike, which also damaged infrastructure, Ukrainian reports said.

From Alaska to Maine, communities that border Canada worry US tariffs come at a personal cost

DETROIT (AP) — At the U.S. Embassy in Ottawa, a quote from former President Ronald Reagan is engraved on one wall.

“Let the 5,000-mile border between Canada and the United States stand as a symbol for the future,” Reagan said upon signing a 1988 free trade pact with America’s northern neighbor. “Let it forever be not a point of division but a meeting place between our great and true friends.”

But a point of division is here. On Tuesday, President Donald Trump plans to impose a 25% tariff on most imported Canadian goods and a 10% tariff on Canadian oil and gas. Mexico is also facing a 25% tariff.

Zelenskyy signals he’d meet with Trump if invited back to U.S.

How the UN turned Palestinians into permanent refugees

When successful, American-born supermodels can be classified as ‘refugees’, something has gone very wrong.

Three weeks ago, US president Donald Trump set the cat among the pigeons when he announced his plan to turn Gaza into a ‘Riviera in the Middle East’. At a joint press conference with Israel’s prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump said America would take over Gaza, re-develop it and, most shocking of all, relocate Gaza’s 2.2million Palestinians elsewhere, perhaps to Jordan and Egypt. He followed all this up this week by sharing an AI-generated music video on his Truth Social page. It depicted a futuristic ‘Trump Gaza’, complete with golden Trump statues and bearded belly dancers.

An Obit for Journalism

The death of objectivity has been both cause and effect.

The year 2024 began with grim news for the news. The Los Angeles Times laid off 115 staffers in January, triggering doomsday conclusions about journalism’s future. Media experts who had worked hard to save the industry seemed ready to admit that the end was near. As one longtime observer noted, “It may finally be time to give up on old journalism and its legacy industry. . . . The old news industry has failed at adapting to the internet and every one of their would-be saviors—from tablets to paywalls to programmatic ads to consolidation to billionaires—has failed them.”

The Persecution of Christians, January 2025

“Typically, kidnapped girls in Pakistan, some as young as 10, are abducted, forced to convert to Islam and raped under cover of Islamic ‘marriages’ and are then pressured to record false statements in favor of the kidnappers, rights advocates say. Judges routinely ignore documentary evidence related to the children’s ages, handing them back to kidnappers as their ‘legal wives.’ — Morning Star News, February 7, 2025, Pakistan.

Europe’s reckless bid for victory

America is abandoning the battleground

Donald Trump wants peace, now. Volodymyr Zelensky and his European supporters want victory, later. This is what the very public disagreement in the Oval Office on Friday was all about. Peace through victory — essentially the Second World War model — is the lens through which virtually all European leaders, and most commentators view the Russia-Ukraine conflict. America sees it differently.

The absurdity of the European position was perhaps best captured in its full hubris last year by the historian and writer Anne Applebaum when she won a prestigious German peace prize. During her acceptance speech, she maintained that victory was more important than peace, asserting that the West’s ultimate goal should be regime change in Russia. “We must help Ukrainians achieve victory, and not only for the sake of Ukraine,” she said. “If there is even a small chance that military defeat could help end this horrific cult of violence in Russia, just as military defeat brought an end to the cult of violence in Germany, we should take it.” This is the Second World War model in its purest form.

Why are Liberal Women so Unhappy?

Some truths do not care if you are liberal or conservative. Two plus two still equals four no matter which side of the aisle you sit on. Gravity will pull Republicans and Democrats downwards at the same rate.

Some psychological truths are equally impartial. All people everywhere want their lives to have meaning. All people everywhere feel the need to fit in. If you do not have those things, you will likely be unhappy. That is true whether you voted for Trump or Harris.

However, those same immutable truths may be better grasped by one side than the other. If liberals were especially good at math, it would not change the underlying principles of addition — but it might be worth asking why liberals were so good at it.

Donald Trump covered himself in disgrace and covered America in ignominy in Ukraine meeting

The worm is turning on President Donald Trump. The world is turning on President Donald Trump.

While there might not yet be riots in the streets of America — the MAGA manifestation of insurrection — protesters disrupting Vice President JD Vance’s ski vacation in Sugarbush, Vermont, is a nice start. A nation may have finally and irreversibly had its eyes popped wide open to the existential threat of the fascists who would be king and princeling.

So That’s Why We Haven’t Seen the Real Epstein List

On his Fox News show “Life, Liberty, and Levin,” Mark Levin had a compelling discussion with Attorney General Pam Bondi about one of the most scandalous yet suspiciously opaque cases in modern history—the Jeffrey Epstein files. Last week, many anticipated bombshell revelations exposing high-profile figures linked to criminal activity on Epstein’s private island. Instead, what we got was a rehash of information already widely known.

So, why is this happening and when are we going to see the new stuff?
