GREEN: Carney’s climate plan simply hides the costs to Canadians

Mark Carney, who wants to be your next prime minister, recently released his plan for Canada’s climate policies through 2035. It’s a sprawling plan (climate plans always are) encompassing industrial and manufacturing emissions, vehicle emissions, building emissions, appliance emissions, cross-border emissions, more “green” energy, more “heat pumps” replacing HVAC, more electric vehicle (EV) subsidies, more subsidies to consumers, more subsidies to companies and more charging stations for the EV revolution that does not seem to be happening. And while Carney wants to eliminate the “consumer carbon tax” on “fuels such as gasoline, natural gas, diesel, home heating oil, etc.,” it’s basically Trudeau’s climate plans on steroids.

Universal basic income program could cut poverty up to 40%: Budget watchdog

The government’s fiscal watchdog says a guaranteed basic income program at the federal level could cut poverty rates in Canada by up to 40 per cent.

In a new report, the Parliamentary Budget Office (PBO) says that a Canadian family in the lowest earning group could expect to receive an average of $6,100 in annual disposable income through such a program.

Higher earners could see their income drop because of changes in the tax system to implement the basic income support.

Whistleblowers: FBI Weaponization Is Real, And Here’s Proof

Democrats have cast the Trump administration’s ouster of eight senior FBI leaders as a “purge” and act of “retribution” from a weaponized Justice Department, some likening it to President Nixon’s “Saturday Night Massacre.”

But former colleagues of the terminated “G-men” say this narrative is backward. FBI officials, past and present, have marshaled significant evidence via whistleblower complaints and testimony indicating that several terminated leaders routinely used their offices for partisan purposes.

DOGE takes on the Social Security monster

With DOGE, the hits just keep coming.

Elon Musk has used his formidable communications reach to highlight DOGE’s discovery that Social Security, which is going broke, seems to be paying a whole lot of people who shouldn’t be drawing any money at all. With the agency’s solvency window shrinking every year, as fewer and fewer workers contribute while more and more draw benefits, that’s a critical mission.

JD Vance warns Zelensky he will regret ‘badmouthing’ Trump and condemns his ‘atrocious’ response to peace talks

Vice President J.D. Vance on Wednesday warned the Ukrainian president against attacking President Donald Trump, saying that ‘badmouthing’ him in public would only backfire.

Vance spoke to DailyMail.com hours after Ukrainian President Volodomyr Zelensky accused Trump of living in a Russian-made ‘disinformation space.’

The extraordinary language on both sides comes at a critical time in the war between Ukraine and Russia, as Trump pushes for a speedy resolution.

NeverTrump European Scolds President Trump

Last week the Wall Street Journal published an op-ed by Anders Fogh Rasmussen, the erstwhile Prime Minister of Denmark, Nato Secretary General, and fervent supporter of the “rules based international order,” to which Rasmussen has “dedicated much of [his] life,” and that functions as a globalist, antinationalist foreign policy talisman that for decades U.S. taxpayers have financed.

Having returned to the White House, Trump is once again challenging that order with his America first policies and impatience with our allies’ refusal to share the cost of being the “world’s policeman.” Rasmussen fears Trump has “gone rogue” and “no longer exercises his authority over geopolitical gangsters, or becomes abusive toward the world’s most steadfast rule followers” ––by which he means Europeans, especially the Nato nations.

Of course all cultures aren’t equal

Once again, UK Conservative Party leader Kemi Badenoch has restated her view that not all cultures are created equal. And, once again, this statement of obvious fact has been greeted with predictable outrage.

This week, Badenoch made a speech at the Alliance for Responsible Citizenship in east London, in which she criticised cultural relativism. She warned that some migrants who come to Britain bring with them ‘behaviours, cultures and practices’ that undermine Western civilisation and ‘the values that helped make us great’.

America’s post-apocalyptic cities

Squalid encampments are becoming the norm

It’s a toy store called Treasure Trove, but the first thing you see when you enter is no child’s play. Boxes of Narcan, a medication used to treat emergency drug overdoses, sit on the front counter near the cash register, accompanied by a handwritten sign that says “Free”.

Treasure Trove opened a year ago in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, as a satellite store of their toy and second-hand goods shop in nearby Newberrytown. But this second location, within spitting distance of the Pennsylvania State Capitol, has evolved into something like a mission for the chronically homeless that also sells Funko Pops figurines. The owners, a pleasantly nerdy couple named Jason Crocenzi and Jennifer Draisey-Crocenzi, say it was impossible to operate a standard retail business in a downtown where hundreds of deprived homeless people wander the streets and often outnumber regular pedestrians.

Male Crossdresser who serves as aide in Trudeau gov’t defends beating girl aged TWELVE in race

A transgender aide to Justin Trudeau’s minister for women has defended her participation in a race where she beat a 12 year-old girl to the ‘fastest female’ title.

Nathanielle Morin won a women’s 5km road run by almost six minutes in Ottawa, Ontario in February 2024, demolishing the rest of her competition in the 30-39 year-old female category with a finish time of 25 minutes and 32 seconds.

The second fastest runner across all women’s tournaments that day was 12 year-old Saoirse Hoogenraad with a time of 26 minutes and eight seconds, who ran in a separate age group to Morin.

French Mayor Says ‘I Don’t’ to Deportee Wedding

A right-wing mayor is being prosecuted for refusing to perform the civil wedding ceremony of an Algerian national who was under an obligation to leave French territory. Refusing to plead guilty, he must now stand trial in a criminal court. Parliamentarians are seizing on this grotesque situation to call for a change in the law.

In July 2023, Robert Ménard, mayor of the southern town of Béziers and a well-known figure of the French Right, refused to officiate the wedding of a French woman and an Algerian man who was under an obligation to leave French territory (obligation de quitter le territoire français or OQTF) and therefore present illegally in France at the time of the request. The couple then took the case to court, and the verdict was in: according to French law, a mayor has no right to refuse to conduct a wedding, for whatever reason.

COLD FRIGHT: Trump-Putin Arctic energy talks freeze out Canada and Denmark

Talks between US and Russian negotiators in Riyadh to end the war in Ukraine on Tuesday raised alarm for an altogether and potentially even more disturbing reason as far as Canada and Denmark are concerned.

That’s because POLITICO is reporting that Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin are open to energy deals north of the 60th parallel despite ongoing boundary disputes with Canada and Denmark, both of the US strongman wants to annex.

John Ivison: Trudeau shows his brazen disregard for taxpayers hasn’t quit yet

At this stage of his political career, a Justin Trudeau press conference should be like living next to the highway. With little more than two weeks left in office, the prime minister’s musings should be irrelevant background noise, with no spending implications whatsoever.

Yet the announcement on Wednesday in Montreal that the federal government plans to hand over nearly $4 billion to a consortium to develop high-speed rail between Quebec City and Toronto was a reminder that Trudeau’s still got it when it comes to brazen disregard for the taxpayer.

IT BEGINS: President Trump Starts Peeling Back the Zelenskyy Mask

It was inevitable. We have been together from the outset of the conversation where we admitted to ourselves that sooner or later the pretending was going to have to stop. Well, here we are.

President Donald Trump begins a very uncomfortable process to peel back the mask that Ukrainian President Zelenskyy represents.
