Carson Jerema: Mark Carney will march us straight into an American disaster

Mark Carney needs to stop talking about American President Donald Trump because the likely soon to be prime minister is going to lead us straight into economic oblivion, if not into a full blown annexation crisis. The best way for our leaders to deal with Trump’s toxic threats to absorb Canada, or to wipe out the auto industry, is to essentially stop talking in public immediately. Instead, Liberals are gleeful at the opportunity that after nine years in office, they get to campaign against Trump.

JD Vance attacks Europe over migration, free speech says formerly USAID funded leftist propaganda rag

MUNICH — United States Vice President JD Vance launched a blistering attack on European governments on Friday, chastising them for ignoring the will of their people, overturning elections, ignoring religious freedoms and not acting to halt illegal migration.

It was a U.S.-style MAGA, red meat speech that eschewed detailed discussion of defense and security — the topic of the Munich Security Conference. Vance instead hit on some recent hot button cultural issues, from abortion laws in Britain to the recent election in Romania.

WARMINGTON: Antisemitic ‘mob’ turns TDSB meeting into display of Jew ‘hatred

Many who were there Wednesday say it was more of anti-Jewish meeting than a school board meeting.

Those in attendance say the public hearing on a report before the Toronto District School Board to protect Jewish students deteriorated into more of anti-Jewish hate fest.

“The anti-Israel mob showed up in full force espousing conspiracy theories, tropes and disinformation about Israel and the Jewish community,” a disgusted Toronto City Councillor James Pasternak said.

And the Star’s version … TDSB report on antisemitism strategy sparks heated reaction at meeting

Can Europe defend itself from Russia?

Donald Trump’s new defence secretary ripped up decades of foreign policy when he told European allies they must now look after their own defence.

Pete Hegseth said that the United States would no longer “tolerate an imbalanced relationship” with its allies and called on Nato members to spend much more on defence.

But after more than 75 years of sheltering behind the US, can Europe defend itself?

Trudeau Congratulates Syrian Interim Leader Ahmed al-Sharaa Despite Terrorist Listing

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau congratulated Syria’s interim president today, despite him leading a group Canada still designates as a terrorist organization.

Ahmed al-Sharaa leads Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, a group Canada has listed as a terrorist organization since 2013.

That group, often called HTS, toppled the regime of Bashar al-Assad last December, ending a brutal dictatorship that was supported by the Russian government.

Brussels Leftists Demand Removal of Exhibit to Communist Massacre Victims

Remembering the ethnic cleansing of Italian civilians is called “outrageous”—by supporters of Parliamentary depictions of Christ as gay.

Leftist MEPs from Slovenia and Croatia are protesting an exhibition in the European Parliament (EP) to commemorate the victims of the Foibe massacres around the city of Trieste at the end of the Second World War—conducted by communist Yugoslav partisans.

The exhibition was presented to mark the 80th anniversary of the massacres which also saw its memorial site in Basovizza, Italy, vandalized by (presumably) Slovene perpetrators ahead of the official commemoration a few days ago.

How Trump’s Russia-Ukraine peace plan blindsided Europe

The United States has proposed a resolution that would mean Kyiv ceding territory to Moscow, a move that has been met with anger and disbelief in Europe

Ministers in the British government had been warned something big was coming. On Wednesday morning, as John Healey, the defence secretary, prepared to address dozens of his counterparts at Nato headquarters in Brussels, US officials told him President Trump would be speaking later in the day.

As his team theorised about what he could say — checking Trump’s Truth Social platform for any sudden outbursts — none predicated the storm of controversy that came next.

Terry Newman: Ontario Liberals stalked by the ghost of Kathleen Wynne

Wednesday, in Toronto, Ontario Liberal Leader Bonnie Crombie held yet another announcement about the importance of choosing her party to end hallway health care in the province. Once again, no full platform or detailed plan with costs was provided. Crombie spoke minimally, relying on attacks on Doug Ford and what she called a “tour” of personal anecdotes. Unfortunately for Crombie, the smooth functioning of this play on emotions relied on pesky reporters not asking any questions about her party’s not-so-wonderful health care record and comments Crombie made about her party’s former leader’s plan being “too costly.”
