‘We can’t fund this’: City of Windsor responds as Trudeau gov’t ends funding for so-called asylum claimants it flooded Canada with

The City of Windsor has released a stern message as the federal government gets set to stop funding the Interim Housing Assistance Program for asylum claimants.

“We can’t fund this, and we won’t,” said Andrew Daher, city commissioner of human and health services.

He pointed out to media during a news conference that 846 departure notices were handed out by the government for January, February and March.

“About 191 of those folks have been taken care of in January, so we’re left with roughly 600 or so folks that are going to get a letter, it will be effective Feb. 3 and then March 3,” Daher said.

Trump supporters slam AOC for ‘destructive’ response to Mariann Budde’s controversial sermon: ‘faux outrage’

Supporters of President Donald Trump ridiculed Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cartez for suggesting that billionaire Elon Musk get deported for what she described as a ‘Nazi salute’ at the inauguration ceremonies on Monday.

Ocasio-Cortez singled out Rep. Mike Collins of Georgia for suggesting that Episcopal Bishop Mariann Budde should be ‘deported’ for her sermon lecturing Trump on the need to allow illegal immigrants to remain in the United States.

‘What about the guy who did a Nazi salute behind the presidential seal?’ she asked, choosing to focus on Musk as the primary political villain.

Terry Newman: Mark Carney’s long, deceitful quest for Liberal crown

There’s about as much truth to Mark Carney being an outsider as there is to Christy Clark having never signed up for the Conservative party. Like Clark, who left a trail of evidence of her deceit, Carney’s now undeniable long-time interests in Liberal leadership and associations with members of the party have left a fluorescent trail of breadcrumbs, raising serious questions about Carney’s integrity overall and the reason he left Canada in the first place.

Trump targets Canada’s digital services tax with America First trade policy

One of U.S. President Donald Trump’s freshly signed executive orders puts the Liberal government’s digital services tax into the sights of America’s Commerce, Treasury and Trade departments, threatening to further irritate the trade relationship between the two countries.

The America First Trade Policy, signed into force by Trump Monday evening, seeks to ensure America’s trading relationships bring maximum benefit to “American workers, manufacturers, farmers, ranchers, entrepreneurs and businesses.”

It directs his secretaries of the Treasury and Commerce departments as well as the United States Trade Representative (USTR) to investigate whether foreign countries are subjecting U.S. “citizens or corporations to discriminatory or extraterritorial taxes.”

Surrendering North Korean soldier refuses to drop sausage at gunpoint

A surrendering North Korean soldier risked his life by refusing to drop his sausage at gunpoint, according to the Ukrainian paratroopers who captured him.

A detailed video account, published by Ukrainian special forces, described how the soldier refused to lay down his food, while one of his compatriots tried to kill himself by running into a pillar.

They later asked to watch Korean romance films, the Ukrainians said.

Brad Bradford: Bylaw protecting Toronto Jewish neighbourhoods in the works, no thanks to Chow

In the fifteen months since October 7, an absence of leadership has turned Toronto into a city that many don’t recognize. Even more upsetting, for some it has turned into a city where they don’t feel safe.

It seems almost weekly that a Jewish-owned business, community centre or synagogue is targeted by vandalism or protests. A Jewish girls’ school, Bais Chaya Mushka Elementary, has been shot at on three separate occasions. Neighbourhoods have been deliberately targeted for protests because of their Jewish populations.

Poilievre says he wants to cut the federal public service, doesn’t mind remote work

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre says a government led by him would cut the number of federal public servants — but he doesn’t mind if they work from home.

When asked by Radio-Canada on Tuesday if U.S. President Donald Trump’s executive order sending federal workers back to the office five days a week is a good idea, Poilievre said that what matters is whether public servants do the work.

He said that work is not getting done now within the federal government.

The federal government issued more than $4.1 million in penalties to employers violating the rules of the temporary foreign worker program in 2024, according to data from Immigration, Refugee and Citizenship Canada. This is a 55 per cent increase from the $2.67 million handed out in 2023.

Anthony Fauci’s pardon shames America

His Covid cover-up undermined faith in science

In his inauguration speech four years ago, Joe Biden declared his determination to ‘”restore the soul of America”, later insisting that his “galvanising mission” was to show how our democratic system of government, rooted on liberal ideals of freedom and justice, could still deliver for ordinary people in a turbulent world. So how sad and utterly shameful that on his last day in the job, he stained this noble cause by doling out a pre-emptive pardon to a figure who has done so much to destroy faith in both politics and science.

The departed President’s bid to throw a ring of legal protection around Dr Anthony Fauci, his former chief medical adviser, reeks of elitist arrogance, displaying shocking contempt for ordinary citizens. Biden defended this deeply anti-democratic measure — announced only after he entered the Capitol to watch his unwanted successor Donald Trump’s restoration to power — on the grounds he had to protect public servants who were facing “baseless and politically motivated investigations” that might “irreparably damage their reputations and finances”

After J6 Pardons, The FBI And DOJ Have Nothing To Show For Four Years Of Ignoring Terrorists And Child Traffickers

Over the last four years, Americans watched as the FBI and the Department of Justice worked overtime to imprison the citizens who bankroll them for daring to dissent from the Biden regime’s narratives. On his first day in office, with one stroke of a pen, President Donald Trump not only reversed that lawfare, but effectively solidified the premier federal law enforcement agencies’ places as some of the most corrupt, inefficient, and incompetent arms of the federal government.

Mark Milley: pardons and mutiny

While it’s true pardoned members of Joe Biden’s crime family can be interviewed by the FBI, and lying to an agent is a crime, they don’t have to speak with federal agents. It’s equally true they can be subpoenaed by Congress and may be prosecuted for perjury, but I’m quite sure that like James Comey, Christopher Wray and a variety of other swamp dwellers, they’ll suddenly develop very bad memories. It’s equally likely Former General Mark Milley, also pardoned by Biden’s handlers, will suffer memory loss.

Prevent Isn’t Preventing

“You’ll never be wasting our time,” reads the poster (above and below) featuring Matt Jukes (right), Head of the Counter Terrorism Police, the organisation responsible for the counter-extremism programme Prevent, standing next to a Manchester Arena survivor. Jukes has a stern look in his eyes, as if to warn would-be extremists that they can’t hide or evade justice from Britain’s toughest force.

Back in the real world, however, there are signs that all is not well with Prevent (to put it incredibly mildly). On Monday it was revealed that Axel Rudakubana, the Southport killer, had been referred to the programme three times between 2019 and 2021 due to his obsession with violence, but Prevent never heeded the warnings.

Here’s What Tom Homan Said That Stunned CNN’s Dana Bash

Border czar Tom Homan explained during an interview on CNN that there will be “collateral arrests” of illegal immigrants in sanctuary cities—a statement that stunned host Dana Bash.

“There’s going to be more collateral arrests in sanctuary cities because they forced us to go into the community and find the guy we’re looking for,” Homan said.

How refreshing.
