Calls for ‘jihadi lioness’ boss of UK charity to be investigated

A UK charity is being scrutinised after reports that its boss has been hailed a “jihadi lioness” and was the recipient of an award from the “Butcher of Tehran”.

Syeda Umme Farwa, who runs British-registered charity Labaik Ya Zahra (LYZ), is also alleged to have given platforms to alleged extremists at her charity’s events and mourned an Iranian general as a “martyr”.

Chris Selley: Why did it take Trump to get us to take border security seriously?

Because Donald Trump is brandishing his 7-wood at us about fentanyl and illegal migration, Canada is leasing two Black Hawk helicopters for the RCMP and putting them on border patrol, and also bolstering the fleet of border-patrolling drones. That’s an accurate assessment of what we’re doing and why we’re doing it, and that’s more or less how media reported it: “Canada sending Black Hawks, drones to border as the clock to pacify Trump ticks down,” was one apropos headline.

German Political Insanity Update: Ban on “Unfiltered Opinions” Announced

“…Look, I know I owe you varied topics, and I promise to deliver on that soon. I’m working on a longer piece about the decay of Green environmentalism, and I also want to write about the strange politics of Germany as an expression of our peculiarly uniform middle-class society. But, for the moment, I just can’t tear my eyes away from the insanity that is attending our elections. The AfD is holding strong above 20% and the CDU is having trouble breaking free of 30%. The writing is on the wall: whatever Government comes out of this is going to be a godforsaken mess. Our rulers knows this too, and they are losing their minds. The collective hysteria and repressive zeal is exceeding last year’s unprecedented panic about ThE RiGHt, which is really saying something.”

LA fires become breeding ground for ‘climate change’ propaganda

It has been obvious for a long time that the climate is and has always changed cyclically and naturally. So why do most journalists continue to repeat that humans and our use of natural resources is causing warming that is causing ice to melt, oceans to rise, more severe storms, droughts, floods and disastrous fires?

The only answer I can come up with is that they are just Democrats through and through. They will push whatever agenda Democrats are trying to force on the American people, no matter how unpopular or destructive they are. Facts and science clearly don’t matter.

Trump can’t end Mexico’s cartel war

Drug networks are too complex

Most residents in the town of Jerécuaro in Central Mexico were asleep when the car bomb exploded in the plaza at 5.10 am on 24 October, blowing out the windows of stores and scattering debris. But when a second car bomb went off over an hour later in the city of Acámbaro, 30 kilometres away, many residents were heading to work and school. The explosive device blew up outside a police station and injured three officers. Mexico’s recently sworn-in security minister, Omar García Harfuch, blamed the car bombs on the drug cartels fighting a turf war.

Car bombs are one of the many terrifying weapons in the arsenal of Mexico’s cartels as they battle over territory, not only to traffic and sell drugs, but to steal oil from pipelines, smuggle migrants over the US border, and extort businesses, among other crimes. They also wield weaponised drones that drop makeshift bombs unleashing shrapnel and nails. They lay landmines that kill soldiers in their Humvees as well as farmers. And they build fighting vehicles known as “monsters” that look like they are out of Mad Max, with walls of bullet-proof steel and battering rams.

Is this peace or appeasement?

Here’s a pretty good rule for international affairs: if a deal pleases neo-fascists, it’s probably a bad deal. If an agreement gets an army of anti-Semites dancing in the streets, it’s likely a poor agreement. That was my first thought upon seeing the Jew-killers of Hamas emerge from their tunnels in Gaza last night to celebrate the ceasefire deal struck with Israel: if they like it, then those of us who side with civilisation over the regressive tyranny of such merciless Islamists probably will not.

Hungry and Stoned Rats Raiding Houston Police Evidence Lockers To Devour Marijuana Stash

The Houston Police Department says its methods for storing seized drugs have gone up in smoke after it was discovered that rats have been crawling through evidence lockers with a major case of the munchies and gobbling up the marijuana being stored in criminal cases.

In a recent press conference, Houston PD Chief Noe Diaz, along with Harris County District Attorney Sean Teare and Mayor John Whitmire, announced that they will be essentially doing a spring cleaning of the city’s massive evidence storage facility, destroying items that are no longer needed for cases, according to a report from ABC13 in Houston. They say the move is out of necessity – a need to make room for new evidence for active investigations and ease staffing woes.

Trudeau the last person who should speak for us… he can’t even define Canada

Outgoing prime minister Justin Trudeau, who cancelled his year-end interviews with Canadian media outlets, sat down recently with CNN’s Jake Tapper for a friendly chat about the future of Canada-US relations.

The context is two-fold.

First, incoming president Donald Trump has escalated his personal razzing of Trudeau — calling him “Governor Trudeau” and musing about Canada as a 51st state. Second, he offered more aggressive speculations about using “economic force” to annex Canada entirely.

Cat memory

I just “found” this pic.

Kathy and I hiked into Jaffa along the beach from Tel Aviv. We stopped for lunch and this little tabby jumped into my pack looking for food. I carried a bag of cat chow to feed the ubiquitous free range kitties. He was a tiny wee soul.

Europe’s anxiety about Trump isn’t widely shared across the globe

The very things that makes the president-elect’s return so scary for many Europeans are what make him attractive to the rest of the world.

We are experiencing the biggest crisis in transatlantic relations since Suez. But it is unfolding in such a bizarre manner that nobody can quite get their head around it.

The richest man in the world, who is about to become a quasi-official in the incoming U.S. administration, has declared he’s trying to overthrow the British government — and probably the German one as well. President-elect Donald Trump himself has already indicated he wants to overturn every single tenet of the U.S.-led order. And his recent comments on the Panama Canal and Greenland show he’s even ready to question principles like territorial sovereignty and the inviolability of borders.

Euroweenies.
