Hamas Signals No Retreat: The US Fantasy of Disarmament and Peace

An April 5 speech by Hamas military spokesman Abu Obaida leaves no doubt: Hamas remains fully committed to jihad (holy war) and rejects disarmament.

Meanwhile, US President Donald J. Trump’s “Board of Peace,” an initiative to stabilize and rebuild the Gaza Strip, seems to be increasing pressure on Hamas. According to a report published in The New York Times, the board has set a deadline for the terror group to agree to a disarmament framework in the Gaza Strip by the end of the coming week.

Mark Carney’s latest floor crosser tests more than the size of the Liberal tent

With one warm floor-crossing welcome, Prime Minister Mark Carney challenged Wednesday what it means to be a Liberal, gave his primary opponent a big wake-up call, and planted the seeds for simmering caucus discontent.

A day before Liberals gather in Montreal for their biennial convention — Carney’s first as leader — the prime minister embraced four-term Sarnia—Lambton—Bkejwanong Conservative MP Marilyn Gladu to the Grits’ caucus. “I couldn’t be happier,” he said, as he shook Gladu’s hand and lauded her “tremendous” international business experience, her decade in Parliament, dedication to her constituents, and well-known reputation as one of the most collaborative MPs on the hill.

White House’s Leavitt Slams Journos Asking If U.S. Lost ‘Moral High Ground’ vs. Iran

White House’s Leavitt Slams Journos Asking If U.S. Lost ‘Moral High Ground’ vs. Iran

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt faced a mostly liberal, elite media press corps Wednesday afternoon that had a Costco-sized carton of eggs on their face from President Trump’s Truth Social post the night prior unveiling a preliminary peace deal with Iran following declarations “a whole civilization will die,” so it was no surprise some arrived with adversarial question.

This included two questioning whether the U.S. has lost the “moral high ground” in the world and against Iran, which has killed tens of thousands of protesters in the last year, criminalizes homosexuality, oppresses women, and has one of the worst records for press freedom.

Lack Of Ethics Enabler: Deputy minister broke rules by hiring unqualified acquaintance and no one lost their job

Deputy minister of national defence Christiane Fox broke conflict of interest rules by hiring an old acquaintance when she was the deputy immigration minister, the federal ethics watchdog has found.

Conflict of Interest and Ethics Commissioner Konrad von Finckenstein published an investigation on Wednesday finding that Fox improperly influenced her department to hire Björn Charles in March 2023.

The report said that officials “felt pressured to hire him” at “a management level for which departmental officials had advised he was not qualified.”

Melania Trump makes shock statement saying ‘lies’ linking her to Jeffrey Epstein ‘must stop’

First Lady Melania Trump is pushing back on claims she was linked to the disgraced financier and sex offender Jeffrey Epstein in a surprise address at the White House.

‘I am not Epstein’s victim,’ she stated during the address on Thursday afternoon. ‘Epstein did not introduce me to Donald Trump. I met my husband by chance at a New York City party in 1998.’

Trump and Melania met that year at the Kit Kat Klub in New York when the former supermodel was 28 years old. Paolo Zampolli, a modeling agency boss who is serving as Trump’s special envoy for global partnerships, claims he introduced the couple. They later married in 2005.

Plenty of ‘unhappy people’ in Conservative caucus: floor-crossing MP d’Entremont

Liberal MP Chris d’Entremont, who crossed the floor from the Conservatives in November, says current Conservative MPs have “absolutely” asked him what it’s like being a Liberal.

“They want to know what the caucus structure is, what we talk about, what kind of input that we have in decision making,” d’Entremont told host Mike Le Couteur in an interview on CTV Power Play Wednesday.

Every last defector will regret their actions.

Michael Moore torches US as ‘bad guys,’ hails Iran as ‘greatest civilization’ in deranged rant

Liberal filmmaker Michael Moore torched the US as the “bad guys” in the war with Iran – while hailing the Middle Eastern nation as one of the world’s “greatest civilizations” in a deranged online tirade.

The documentarian unleashed the frenzied rant on Tuesday, calling President Trump a “terrorist” for threatening a “holocaust” after the commander in chief warned Iran that its “whole civilization” would be wiped out if the nation failed to cut a ceasefire deal to open the Strait of Hormuz and end the six-week conflict.

I had forgot all about this clown.

Washington Post columnist argues Muslims shouldn’t have to assimilate in America

Washington Post columnist Shadi Hamid is making the case that Muslims don’t need to assimilate in America.

“The assimilation defense — look how well we’ve integrated — is satisfying to make. But it concedes a premise I no longer accept: that a minority community’s right to be in the United States depends on its willingness to converge with the cultural mainstream. It shouldn’t depend on that. It shouldn’t depend on anything,” Hamid wrote Wednesday.

I agree they shouldn’t have to assimilate because they shouldn’t be here to begin with.

Messing, who has publicly campaigned for and supported Democrat politicians for at least three decades, wrote…

“Sometimes you just have to run away… I have been open about the struggles I’ve had, like all of you, with the hate and violence seen across the globe,” she confessed on her X account.

MANDEL: Pearson gold heist mastermind sentenced to just four years in jail

One of the key masterminds behind Canada’s largest gold heist — the brazen theft of $22.5 million in gold and cash from Toronto’s Pearson airport three years ago — has been sentenced to just four years behind bars.

Less credit for pre-sentence custody, the relieved Arsalan Chaudhary has just 42 months left to serve. But that’s not the entirety of his sentence: Ontario Court Justice Shannon McPherson ordered the 44-year-old to pay back $22 million to Brinks — a restitution order that will stand for 40 years.

The FBI has arrested a former military special operations employee accused of providing classified information to the media, the agency’s director Kash Patel announced on Wednesday.

The US Department of Justice said in a press release that the former employee, identified as Courtney Williams, 40, was arrested on Tuesday and indicted on Wednesday for allegedly sharing classified material with a journalist.

While the journalist is not named in the criminal complaint, Williams was interviewed by the investigative reporter Seth Harp for his 2025 nonfiction book about Fort Bragg, the North Carolina headquarters of the US Army’s Delta Force, a clandestine special operations unit.

We know bad floor crossings when we see them

We know bad floor crossings when we see them

It was during the 1964 U.S. Supreme Court case Jacobellis v. Ohio on hardcore pornographers that Justice Potter Stewart famously offered as a threshold test for obscenity: “I know it when I see it.”

The news of Conservative MP Marilyn Gladu’s defection to the Liberals will shock many Canadian voters. It’s timely then to explore the question: are any floor crossings defendable or even laudatory?

Rat infestation.
