How lockdown created a ‘cancer bomb’

NHS waiting lists have reached record highs this year. In June, 7.6million people in England were waiting to start treatment. Almost 400,000 people have been waiting for over a year. Much of this backlog can be traced back to the lockdowns in 2020 and 2021, when patients suffering from anything other than Covid were warned to stay away from hospitals. This misguided attempt to ‘protect the NHS’ left illnesses undiagnosed and led to severe delays in treatment. Most serious of all has been the disruption to cancer care, which some experts now warn could be as deadly as the pandemic itself.

Loch Ness Monster hunters report ‘distinctive gloops’ in the depths

Beany and Cecil

The biggest search for the Loch Ness Monster in half a century uncovered sightings and four “distinctive noises”, but there was no definitive evidence to prove the existence of the mythical beast.

Nessie hunters at the weekend claimed to have heard mysterious “blubbing” underwater sounds, as people came from all over the world to look for the creature.

Zelzate, there ends the white man’s multicultural sob

A group of Islamic students surround a younger white boy and force him to kneel and kiss their feet. A symptom of the era? Who cares?

Don’t worry. This too, as Parag Khanna, Obama advisor, Davos man, migration expert and author of “How Mass Migration Will Reshape The World And What It Means For You says”, “is part of the beautiful tide of history and demographics. We will see an ever-increasing percentage of brown and fewer white children.”

A group of students surround a younger boy and force him to kneel and kiss their feet. Panicking and crying, the child is kicked in the head and mocked, before being left on the ground. There is little doubt about the cultural identity of the attackers. Nor that of the victim. Nor about the fact that if the former had been white and the latter an immigrant, we would now see the video everywhere. Instead the video is nowhere except in the Dutch and Belgian press.

Refugees sleeping in Toronto churches continue calls for government support

After spending days or weeks living in an emergency shelter at a Toronto church, dozens of asylum seekers and refugees want action from the provincial and federal government.

On Thursday, asylum seekers who have been living at Pilgrim Feast Tabernacles in Etobicoke staged a protest outside Premier Doug Ford’s constituency office at 823 Albion Road. Nadine Miller, a director with the church, says its been housing about 150 people and neglecting bills to pay for their food.

While immigration policies are a federal responsibility, Miller and the church is calling on all levels of government to work together on a solution.

Why can’t they sleep in Tents like Canadian homeless?

Dollar General customer killed entering store ID’d among victims in racially-motivated Fla. shooting

The three black people killed by a white gunman in what authorities have said was a racially-motivated hate crime at a Dollar General store in Florida, were identified Sunday — including a 19-year-old employee who was shot dead as he tried to escape.

Teenage store worker AJ Laguerre was named as one of the victims gunned down by racist “maniac” Ryan Palmeter, 21, who targeted the Jacksonville shop Saturday afternoon, armed with a Glock pistol and an AR-15 style rifle bedecked with swastikas, authorities said.

Justin Trudeau isn’t the only target Pierre Poilievre has in his sights

OTTAWA—There’s a long-accepted wisdom in federal political circles: the best chance for the Conservatives to form government happens when the vote is split on the left.

It was New Democratic Party leader Jack Layton’s surge in 2011, after all, that handed the federal Conservatives their majority that year.

But Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre isn’t one for sticking with the orthodoxy.

The high odds of a Chinese black swan

No one believes Beijing’s autocrats can intervene, manipulate or lie on the scale required to shore up the entire tottering $20 trillion economic colossus

I have a memory picture of an urban highway in Shenzen, southern China. Recently built, with abundant flowering shrubs planted along its central reservation, it was lined as far as the eye could see by uncountable apartment towers, many of them unfinished. This was 2009 and it was my first glimpse of the debt-fueled property bonanza that had begun to grip the Chinese economy — alongside the export-led manufacturing boom that was also plainly visible, thanks to satellite maps of the vast agglomeration of factories surrounding the new-rich residential areas.

Evidence found of German mass execution by French Resistance after D-Day

Archaeologists have found evidence of a mass execution of German prisoners who were forced to dig their own graves and then shot by the French Resistance a few days after D-Day, during World War Two.

French and German teams discovered bullets and cartridges, as well as coins, at a remote site in central France identified by the last surviving witness.

After France surrendered to Hitler’s Germany in 1940, the underground Resistance movement gathered force over years of occupation and by June 1944 was poised to help the Allied invasion in Normandy.

Biden’s Disastrous Withdrawal from Afghanistan Still Haunts the West

It is not just the beleaguered people of Afghanistan who are suffering as a result of US President Joe Biden’s catastrophic decision to arbitrarily end America’s military involvement in the country two years ago.

It is now abundantly clear that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s decision to launch his brutal invasion of Ukraine was taken as a direct consequence of the weak leadership Biden displayed over his handling of the Afghan issue.
