High-level judges may have paid to meet Trudeau before their appointments

At least six current superior court justices may have paid to meet with the prime minister or the deputy prime minister at Liberal Party fundraisers shortly before being appointed.

These findings come in the wake of an earlier analysis by the National Post and the Investigative Journalism Foundation (IJF), which found that over three times as many Liberal party donors have been appointed to judicial office than Conservative donors since 2016.

The truth about Paris’s rat problem – and why its mayor blames climate change

As the City of Lights strives to become Europe’s ‘greenest’ city, its burgeoning rodent population is shocking tourists

It was an idyllic night a few summers ago. I had spent the evening with friends on the banks of the Seine, sharing a bottle of rosé in the balmy Paris heat. I unchained my bike, hopped on, and started to make my way home.

As I approached the huge courtyard in front of the Notre-Dame, I gazed up at the twin medieval towers, thinking how lucky I was to have this world-famous monument all to myself.

I was then shaken from my reverie by a sudden movement under my front wheel, and the brief but unmistakable feel of clammy fur.

There’s a video here, in French, but that is a lot of rats.

Despite Media Fearmongering, Survey Finds AfD Voters Are Not ‘Far-Right’

AfD’s surging popularity says more about the growing dissatisfaction with the political elite than about ‘extremism’ in Germany.

Rising support for right-wing AfD (Alternative für Deutschland) is not due to the ‘radicalisation’ of the country reported by most media outlets, but is a protest against the establishment’s unpopular policies, according to a new survey by the Allensbach Institut for the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.

Participants in the poll were asked questions about various issues to determine how ‘radical’ their views were. The results show that only 2% of participants were deemed to be on the hard right of the political spectrum and another 2% on the extreme left. Of the respondents, 12% were considered to be strongly on the right, and 7% were strongly on the left. Everyone else had centrist views or was moderately on the right or left.

He kidnapped another 9-year-old girl six months later, beat her, sexually assaulted her, and threatened to kill her and her mother.

France to ban female students from wearing abayas in state schools

Students will be banned from wearing abaya, a loose-fitting full-length robe worn by some Muslim women, in France’s state-run schools, the education minister has said.

The rule will be applied as soon as the new school year starts on 4 September.

France has a strict ban on religious signs in state schools and government buildings, arguing that they violate secular laws.

Wearing a headscarf has been banned in 2004 in state-run schools.

More proof carbon taxes make life more expensive

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau claims he’s “making life more affordable” but his own government agencies continue to prove his carbon tax makes life more expensive.

“Nova Scotians saw prices at the pump increase by 14% in July compared with June,” Statistics Canada reported . “The introduction of the federal carbon levy in the province and higher wholesale prices contributed to higher gasoline prices.”

It’s not just Statistics Canada. Canada Revenue Agency shows the carbon tax currently increases the price of gasoline by 14¢ per litre, the price of diesel and home heating oil by 17¢ per litre and the price of natural gas by 12¢ per cubic metre.

Andrea Smith, college professor, accused of lying about Native American background to retire from University of California-Riverside

A tenured professor at the University of California, Riverside, who has long been accused of fabricating her Native American heritage, will be allowed to retire with full benefits and her title intact.

Ethnic Studies Professor Andrea Smith will reportedly be allowed to keep her current position through August of 2024. She will be allowed to teach classes until then.

Smith’s departure is the result of a separation agreement negotiated by the school. It comes in the wake of a recent complaint by more than a dozen faculty members, who accused her of violating academic integrity by lying about her Native American lineage.

‘The pain is real.’ Why this segment of the GTA real estate market is starting to see more distressed buyers

Cracks are starting to show in Toronto’s preconstruction housing market, as financial pressures not only stall future projects but some industry experts are also seeing an uptick in purchasers putting their properties up for sale, with the most distressed cases coming from buyers of lowrise and freehold homes in the suburbs.
They warn it could be just the beginning, as preconstruction homebuyers who put down a deposit during the pandemic find their full payment coming due in a drastically changed economic and interest rate climate.

Research by the federal government’s Privy Council Office (PCO) finds that the B.C. residents it surveyed are largely negative about the decriminalization of small amounts of certain illegal hard drugs for personal use in their province.

A PCO report, “Continuous Qualitative Data Collection of Canadians’ Views – February 2023,” asked members of the South Asian diaspora living in Metro Vancouver and Interior British Columbia their views on the opioid crisis and the prevalence of opioid addiction in their communities, as first reported by Blacklock’s reporter on Aug. 23.

The Trump Indictment of Democrats’ Dreams

Fani T. Willis shot for the moon

The indictment of Donald Trump by Fulton County’s district attorney, Fani T. Willis, over his schemes to reverse his 2020 election loss ought to pose a greater threat to the former president than the similar federal prosecution brought by Justice Department special counsel Jack Smith. Her case nevertheless is a muddle. The Constitution’s federalist framework explains both these things.

‘Climate Change’ High Priest John Kerry Declares Virtual War on ‘Deniers,’ Calls Them ‘Inexorable Threat’

John Kerry The Merciless

The corporate state is intent, apparently, on ramping up its propaganda against so-called “climate deniers,” presumably to set the rhetorical groundwork for more extreme legal and social action against them in the future. So it dispatched something called its “climate envoy,” John Kerry, to Scotland with that aim.

Women widowed and children orphaned by the cult of ‘trans’

Reject modernity, embrace tradition.

For all of human history, if a family man who faced a crisis of identity were to indulge himself and desert his wife and children to live out a fantasy, he would be branded a disgrace … and rightfully so. Selfishness is not, and has never been, a virtue — until today’s contemporary leftists came along!

Personally I think they’re better off with them gone.
