Haiti violence: gang guns down churchgoers protesting against criminals

At least seven people were killed in Haiti, a rights group said, after a powerful gang that controls a northern suburb of the capital, Port-au-Prince, opened fire with machine guns on a protest organised by a Christian church leader.

Hatian rights group CARDH director Gedeon Jean said the final number killed would probably be higher, adding that several people were wounded and some churchgoers had been kidnapped, after they marched through the community on Saturday trying to rid the area of gang members. Local media reported at least 10 participants were killed.

‘They’re just going to keep coming back’: What’s behind Toronto’s auto theft crisis

It was early spring when thieves targeted an upscale neighbourhood on Toronto’s east side, sliding a Lexus out of a family’s driveway. The vehicle was quickly recovered by police but with the electronics torn out, it was already a write-off.

The family had been through this before. In 2016, their Lexus RX and Porsche Panamera were stolen on the same night. Their then-teenage son had been babysitting next door at the time. “It took him years to recover,” says his father Thomas, who asked that his last name not be published for his family’s safety. “His sense of security was severely compromised.”

The Claimed Muslim ‘Right to Rape’

The 1-year anniversary of the September 16, 2022 arrest and murder of Kurdish-Iranian Mahsa Amini by Iran’s so-called ‘morality police’ is coming up. Her killing, supposedly for allowing her hijab to slip from completely covering her hair (while inside her family’s personal vehicle), set off months of street protests against the Iranian regime. These protests focus especially on the complete lack of women’s rights under the Islamic Republic of Iran’s draconian sharia regime. Despite a brutal crackdown by the regime against the protesters, those demonstrations continue today, often under the slogan “Woman, Life, Freedom”.

JOLY OUTBREAK

JOLY

Canada’s foreign affairs minister Melanie Joly says she’s keeping an eye on US in case it becomes ‘authoritarian regime’ after 2024 election

… Just last year, newspaper Politico labelled Joly a ‘Trudeau protégé’ who might ‘one day have his job’.

It’s not he first time her statements have challenged political opposition within Canada and abroad.

In February 2022, she appeared to blame American conservatives for supporting truckers protesting against vaccine mandates during the Freedom Convoy.

Video from ‘Disturbed Visitors’ Shows Men Dressed in Drag Greeting Children at Disney ‘Princess Makeover‘ Boutique

It appears Disney is still assigning grown men dressed in skirts and dresses as greeters for children at its Disneyland Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique attraction, where little girls are treated to a “princess makeover.”

We are witness to the intentional sliming of a once beloved slice of Americana.

Who wants to destroy Disney like this?

Asylum claimants flooding shelters, social services in Ottawa … Doesn’t Justin have a couple spare rooms now?

OTTAWA – Femi Biobaku came to Canada more than a year ago fleeing persecution from the Nigerian authorities, forcing him to leave his wife, two children, community and job as an accountant back home.

He landed in Ottawa in July 2022 and stayed with a host family for nearly a month before moving into a dorm at the Ottawa Mission homeless shelter, where things took a turn for the worse.

The Great Backfire: Did Big Left Set the Conditions for Trump Persecution to Flip Their Captive Constituencies?

Oops! Democrats may have just handed the benefits of their generations of indoctrination and programming to their arch-nemesis, Donald Trump. It looks like Big Left’s multi-generational grooming efforts to make certain groups of Americans see themselves as victims may be about to bite them so hard on the backside, they won’t be able to walk for decades.

Trudeau sinks to using his daughter as a prop to garner sympathy

Trudeau brings daughter to Edmonton fundraiser to show her he isn’t hated

Trudeau deserves every ounce of public vitriol directed at him and his grifter government.

Justin is a vile race baiting swine who routinely slanders Canadians who disagree with him.

Few that I am aware of have ever dragged his kids into the mess he created for himself.

I have no doubt that his children know how reviled their father is. I am sorry for them.

But Junior is a narcissist incapable of self-reflection and will never change his odious ways to protect his children.

Instead this jerk who only 3 weeks ago was demanding privacy now cynically parades his daughter to win public sympathy.

Sophie should demand full custody and seek a court order that Justin never be alone with the children.

A.I. Brings the Robot Wingman to Aerial Combat

It is powered into flight by a rocket engine. It can fly a distance equal to the width of China. It has a stealthy design and is capable of carrying missiles that can hit enemy targets far beyond its visual range.

But what really distinguishes the Air Force’s pilotless XQ-58A Valkyrie experimental aircraft is that it is run by artificial intelligence, putting it at the forefront of efforts by the U.S. military to harness the capacities of an emerging technology whose vast potential benefits are tempered by deep concerns about how much autonomy to grant to a lethal weapon.

Liberal Immigration Minister: We know the foreign student program is a scam and we’re doing everything we can to not fix it

Integrity of immigration system at risk as international student numbers balloon, minister says

… Canada is on track to welcome around 900,000 international students this year, Miller said in an interview that aired Saturday on CBC’s The House. That’s more than at any point in Canada’s history and roughly triple the number of students who entered the country a decade ago.

… “It is an ecosystem in Canada that is very lucrative and it’s come with some perverse effects: some fraud in the system, some people taking advantage of what is seen as a backdoor entry into Canada, but also pressure in a number of areas — one of those is housing,” he said.

… But Miller shied away from committing to the idea of a hard cap on the number of students entering Canada.

Integrity is a word that Liberals should be banned from using. What Miller means is the Liberals have to find a “fix” that protects their ethnic strongmen and their skim.

God forbid the Liberals should upset China’s 5th Column operations.

Toronto Chinese Student Association Ex-President Now Working at Chinese Consulate

The former president of a University of Toronto Chinese students association is now employed at the Chinese Consulate in Toronto. The group and its affiliated student associations in many other Canadian educational institutions have a history of close ties with Chinese envoys, and in some cases openly admit they are led by the Chinese diplomatic mission.

New documentary ‘proves’ building offshore wind farms does kill whales

The increase in whale, dolphin, and other cetacean deaths off the East Coast of the United States since 2016 is not due to the construction of large industrial wind turbines, U.S. government officials say.

Their scientists have done the research, they say, to prove that whatever is killing the whales is completely unrelated to the wind industry.

The Wildfires Are Still Burning, but the Economic Toll Is Becoming Clearer

Little economic support is available to evacuees now out of work, insurance disputes loom and economic growth may be eroded.

While this year’s wildfire rampage is far from over, its growing economic costs are becoming increasingly clear.

Although we’ve already seen about 10 times as much land burn in Canada this year than we did in all of 2022, this season is unlikely to be a record breaker in terms of financial devastation.

That dubious title belongs to the 2016 season, when the Fort McMurray fire alone forced the evacuation of about 90,000 people and ultimately cost the insurance industry about 4.4 billion Canadian dollars.

That fire also significantly affected the Canadian economy by disrupting production at the oil sands.

But there’s no question that this year’s fires have taken a significant toll on thousands of people as well as governments and, it is likely, the Canadian economy as a whole.

Donald Trump: After this week, can anyone beat him?

Backstage after the debate, the eight rivals and their teams were frantically pitching their version of why they had won the night and were on course to claim the Republican nomination.

But the huddles of listeners were thinning out and a notably bigger media scrum was forming just outside the “spin room”, around a man representing a candidate who had not bothered to turn up at all.

Globe calls for handgun ban

The rising tide of violent crime can’t be ignored. It’s time to ban handguns

There is not so much a violent crime wave sweeping Canada as a tide of crime that has been rising for years, and is now reaching deeply concerning levels.

The data released last month by Statistics Canada are shocking: the number of police-reported violent crimes nationwide shot up to 531,243 in 2022, an increase of almost two-fifths from 2015, all of it on the Liberals’ watch. Adjusted for population growth, the picture is nearly as bad: there were 1,365 violent crimes per 100,000 Canadians in 2022, a 27-per-cent increase since 2015, and the worst year since 2006.
