Canadian Military’s Readiness, International Relevance Tested by Current Shortcomings: Internal Report

Canada’s military is facing “significant challenges” on a number of fronts which threaten its ability to fulfill its mission, an internal report by the Department of National Defence has concluded.

While those findings are not new and have been previously voiced by various stakeholders and observers, they summarize a strategic view held by the Assistant Deputy Minister (Review Services), the department’s branch in charge of providing independent reviews of the military’s policies and activities.

Fearful Germany preparing to block Ukraine’s Nato membership bid

Germany is set to insist on delaying Ukraine’s accession to Nato over fears the move could take the alliance to war with Russia.

An alliance source said Berlin would use the annual Nato summit in Vilnius, Lithuania this week to urge others to focus on security assurances, rather than membership proposals, to help Ukraine defend itself in the absence of accession.

GOLDSTEIN: Trudeau, Ford roll the dice on electric vehicles with our cash

With Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Ontario Premier Doug Ford throwing our money at Volkswagen Group and Stellantis-LGES to build electric vehicle battery plants in Ontario, it’s probably a bad time to mention Volkswagen is cutting back on the production of EV vehicles in Germany, due to “strong customer reluctance in the electric vehicle sector.”

Only stupid people and grifters are on board with EV’s.

Victim identified in daytime Leslieville shooting

Police say the victim, who has been identified as Karolina Huebner-Makurat, 44, of Toronto, was struck by a stray bullet while walking in the area. She was transported to a local hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.

Both suspects are descripted as Black men.

Anyone notice something odd here?

I see very little “outrage” over this unfortunate woman’s murder.

I guess that’s the new normal in Chowtown.

President Joe Biden’s Border ‘Compassion’ Got Us Funerals And Fentanyl

Border Patrol agents in Texas recovered the bodies of four migrants, including a baby, who drowned attempting to illegally cross the Rio Grande last weekend — but could not verify their identities because none of the river’s victims carried documentation.

“The identities of the deceased remain unknown since none possessed identifying documents,” a Texas Department of Public Safety spokesman confirmed on Twitter on Monday.

There is nothing progressive about identity politics

We need to stop saying identity politics, wokeness, or whatever else we want to call it, is progressive. We need to stop referring to the people who are actively reviving racial, misogynistic and homophobic thinking – under the guide of being ‘racially aware’ and ‘trans inclusive’ – as left-wing radicals. They are anything but. These people are reactionaries and bigots. And it’s high time we started naming them as such.

Has the West lost control of oil?

The Opec powers are forming new alliances

Oil might be a source of power, but trying to control its price is a politically hazardous business. Led by the odd pairing of the Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammad Bin Salman (MBS), and Vladimir Putin, the Opec Plus oil producers’ cartel exists to maintain a price floor for its fractious members in an energy environment where oil prices have crashed three times over the past two decades. But its importance in a geopolitical world defined by Sino-American competition is beginning to extend well beyond the gyrations of oil markets. Opec Plus has remained resilient even as the Beijing-Moscow-Tehran axis has hardened since Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, as well as the recent Chinese-brokered rapprochement between Saudi Arabia and Iran. This raises questions about whether Saudi Arabia is now defecting into the anti-Washington camp.

Nazis of the Left

Riley Gaines is a former NCAA female swimmer who has spoken out against the so-called right of males to compete as females.  In response, she has been attacked, verbally and physically, by transgender activists and their supporters.  Recently, after speaking at San Francisco State University, she was forced to barricade herself in a room while she was assaulted by a mob of transgender rights protesters.  According to Gaines, police in San Francisco “failed miserably” to defend her and stated, according to Gaines, that “it was not ideal for them to be seen as anything other than an ally to this community.”

Is Civil War on the Horizon in France?

Years of bad immigration policy are finally seeing their comeuppance.

The inflammable cocktail of immigration, crime, real or alleged racism, hard-handed police tactics, and fiery left-wing politicians is again exploding in France’s face. Never before, however, has the c-word — “civil war” — been bandied about so openly.

Antifa Activist Commits Bizarre Suicide After Police Find Child Porn Hoard

A case has developed in Hungary that has come to involve a left-wing member of parliament, the notorious German-based violent far-left extremist “Hammer Gang” and the bizarre suicide of a Hungarian far-left extremist in a small town outside of Budapest.

Antifa activist András Egyed was found dead at an abandoned Russian military base in the town of Biatorbágy on May 18th after allegedly performing a bizarre “ritual” in which he set fire to a baby doll before hanging himself just a few metres away.

Ukraine looks to Trudeau to play key role in NATO membership bid

More than 500 days after Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the embattled country’s political leaders say they expect Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to be in their corner at next week’s NATO summit.

The leaders of the western military alliance are set to debate the timing and conditions of Ukraine’s admission to NATO.

Some members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization have deep reservations about how quickly the eastern European country should be given membership guarantees.

I doubt Junior pulls weight with anyone.

Novavax to receive $350 million from Canada for unused COVID shots

July 7 (Reuters) – Novavax Inc (NVAX.O) said on Friday Canada will pay $349.6 million to settle the forfeiting of certain doses of its COVID-19 vaccine previously scheduled for delivery.

The U.S. vaccine maker also reached a deal with the country’s public works and government services department to amend the advance purchase contract after a sharp decline in global demand left a raft of COVID-19 doses unused.
