Canada Shatters State-Sponsored Suicide Record

Canada reached a new high in the number of assisted suicides last year, registering a 34% increase in people opting to end their lives under the world’s most liberal euthanasia laws in just one year, the Daily Mail reported on Wednesday, June 7th. Anti-euthanasia activists blame the “heavy promotion” of assisted suicide for this steep incline.

Nothing to do with me! Trudeau blames wildfires on ‘climate change’ despite being warned for YEARS that Canada needed better forest management to avoid disaster that is now playing out

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is shrugging off the blame for the ferocious wildfires wreaking havoc on the northeast, attributing them entirely to climate change and ignoring any suggestion that poor forest management may have played a role.

Biden yesterday sent 600 American firefighters to Canada to help battle the fires that have been raging for six weeks north of the border.

Those fires came into sharp focus yesterday when a choking blanket of smoke blew south, giving New York City the unhealthiest air of anywhere on earth and sparking chaos in many other states.

Furious scaffolders shove Just Stop Oil protesters out of road

A pair of furious scaffolders rugby-tackled Just Stop Oil (JSO) protesters blocking traffic on a central London road.

Four JSO activists in high-visibility orange jackets stood in the middle of a busy road by Pall Mall on Thursday, refusing to let a build-up of heavy goods lorries pass as part of a coordinated set of marches across the capital.

Two scaffolders exasperated at the holdup tackled the protestors to the pavement, with one handling three activists at once, while the other confiscated a cardboard picket sign.

Immigration vs. Assimilation – A new book makes the case against multiculturalism based on the world’s record of ethnic violence.

Out of the Melting Pot, Into the Fire: Multiculturalism in the World’s Past and America’s Future, by Jens Heycke (Encounter, 345 pp., $29.99)

Pessimism about the scale and pace of migration into America has become something of a conservative mantra. The concerns center on both the scale of migration—how many foreigners should be welcomed yearly, through what channels, and what characteristics should be sought in that selection—and the corollary but distinct question of whether, and how, those migrants should be “assimilated” once here, however that term is defined. The two questions are often dealt with interconnectedly. In his 2018 book, Melting Pot or Civil War?, Manhattan Institute president Reihan Salam argued for a lower annual intake with a higher skillset because America’s “melting pot” was rapidly fraying and couldn’t be trusted to function properly at current rates, with migrants primarily low-skilled and increasingly coming from outside Europe. Similarly, while wealthier European nations had a tradition of welcoming immigrants from former colonies, both Christopher Caldwell and Douglas Murray warned that the assimilation steamroller would be overwhelmed by the droves of Muslim refugees flowing into fast-secularizing countries that had forfeited a common culture to assimilate them into.

Elon Musk Has One-Word Response To Matt Walsh’s Trans Health Care Investigation

Twitter owner Elon Musk had a very succinct comment on Matt Walsh’s Wednesday tweet thread uncovering frightening practices by health care providers specializing in sex-change procedures.

In an undercover investigation, Walsh and his team found that Plume and Folx, two of the largest transgender health care providers in the U.S., appear to be rubber-stamping approvals for life-altering sex-change operations — and allegedly even falsely representing health information about patients — so insurance companies will cover the medical expenses.

Germany fears ex-pilots share secrets with China

Germany has officially conducted military training programs with China in the past. Indeed, it is common for militaries to exchange technical and tactical experience. It is also not unusual for service members to take their unique skill set to the private sector after they retire.

But when it comes to China these days, these norms are getting a closer look. That was made clear recently by the strong reaction in Germany to a report shining a light on an otherwise mundane practice: A “handful” of retired German air force pilots, according to the magazine, Spiegel, and public broadcaster, ZDF, have gone to China on lucrative private training contracts.
