Defence industry worried about Canada’s absence from American-British-Australian pact

OTTAWA – An association representing Canadian defence firms is adding its voice to those concerned that Canada is not included in a security pact between Australia, Britain and the United States.

Canadian Association of Defence and Security Industries president Christyn Cianfarani says one worry is that Canada won’t have access to the same technology as its closest allies.

There are also fears the arrangement will hurt Canadian defence companies by making it easier for competitors from Australia and Britain to sell to the U.S.

National defence is too Butch.

The paper was circulated by the National Bureau of Economic Research.

Amid Soros Spending Spree, ‘Campaign Finance Reform’ Evaporates As A Liberal Cause

The financier gave more than $178 million to Democrats in the latest election cycle and $0 to Republicans, and the left’s cries to ‘get big money out of politics’ have gone suddenly silent.

The largest donor in the 2020-22 political cycle was a 92-year-old who spent more than double the next-largest giver.

George Soros gave $178,710,771, of which $178,700,771 went to Democrats and $0 went to Republicans, a nonpartisan website that tracks money in politics, OpenSecrets.org, says. A search of the Federal Elections Commission database lists, by my count, $179,875,512.57 in contributions by Mr. Soros over the two-year period, after deducting those attributed to Alexander George Soros, a son of George Soros.

How the wokeness it pushes could destroy higher education

“Get woke, go broke.” It’s a phrase people coined to describe the failure of Hollywood’s recent politics-drenched efforts at blockbuster films, from which viewers stayed away in droves. But now it applies to another field: higher education.

College and graduate degrees were comparatively rare before about 1970. People could be quite successful without them, and there was little stigma attached to their absence.

That changed as the baby boomers and the GI Bill hit colleges. By the 1970s, college became an essential ticket to entry in the managerial and professional classes (and even to military promotions). Where higher ed had once been a luxury, it became a necessity to membership in the middle, and especially the upper-middle, class.

McKinsey awarded more than $100-million in contracts since 2015, officials say in new update

Ottawa has awarded 23 contracts to McKinsey & Company since 2015 with a total value of $101.4-million, federal officials say – a figure that is significantly higher than what has previously been revealed.

Public Services and Procurement Canada has released a statement with a new summary of federal spending with the New York-based consulting firm, just ahead of a House of Commons committee meeting Wednesday in which MPs will debate plans to hold hearings into government contracts with the company.

The money is secondary to the influence they exerted on immigration policy.

Why Israelis Voted for Right-Wing Parties

The main reason behind the rise to power of the far-right parties in the recent general election in Israel is that many Israelis believe that Israel has no partner for peace on the Palestinian side. This, in addition to the growing sense of dismay among Israelis as a result of Palestinian violence and terrorism, which saw a significant upsurge in 2022.

The widespread belief in Israel that the Palestinian Authority and its leader, Mahmoud Abbas, are not partners for peace is not baseless. Moreover, the dismay is justified.

And in North America Jewish voters prefer Biden and Trudeau – partners for putzes. What a world.

David Staples: Premier Smith ‘sickened’ by staggering disruption planned with Trudeau’s Just Transition

If you’re from Alberta, Saskatchewan or Newfoundland and Labrador, this plan might well strike you as madness, as a federal government that has lost all humility and common sense

The staggering scope of change that Justin Trudeau’s Liberals intend to impose on Canadians with their Just Transition program is made clear in a newly-released government document.

Such is the magnitude of the proposed change that Alberta Premier Danielle Smith said she “felt sick” reading it.

Justin Trudeau is our national nightmare. I wish we could rest easy knowing Junior will be punished at the polls but NDP voters will keep the delusional jackass in power.
