Lunatic environment minister slams oilpatch for making money and not wasting it on green-scams

Environment minister slams oilpatch for raking in cash and sitting idle on climate action

The federal environment minister is calling out Canada’s oil companies for failing to put cash behind their promises to tackle climate change.

Steven Guilbeault says the country’s major oil players have promised to do something about greenhouse gas emissions, but instead have funnelled most of their record-breaking profits to shareholders.

Our environment policy is made by petulant high school students.

Pope criticised for renewing Xi deal as trial of Cardinal Joseph Zen reopens

The renewal of a controversial secret deal between the Vatican and China on the joint appointment of bishops has come at an embarrassing moment for the Pope, fanning international criticism of what has been characterised as moral appeasement on the part of the Holy See.

The announcement came on the day that President Xi consolidated his dictatorial powers at the climax of the 20th Chinese Communist Party congress and four days before the reopening of the trial of Cardinal Joseph Zen for helping to fund the legal costs of pro-democracy activists in Hong Kong.

Heritage Report: Military in Decline

Biden gets the blame for the military’s woes, and rightly so.

A report released by the Heritage Foundation last week found that the U.S. military is weaker than it has been in recent years. Every year, the Heritage Foundation releases its military strength index based on attributes used to measure military readiness for global conflicts. The 2023 Index of U.S. Military Strength reported that the military is “weak” and “at growing risk of not being able to meet the demands of defending America’s vital national interests.” Never in the nine-year history of the index’s report has our military been ranked so low.

We’re stuck in the Dark Ages over vaccine deaths

THE fourth year of the pandemic has started and we are still left wondering about the whys and hows. We could easily be participating in a medical-psychological drama on Netflix with a very uncertain outcome and lots of anxious episodes.

A few days ago Dr Ayesha Verill, New Zealand Minister for Covid-19 Response, belatedly replied to my letter of August 18 entitled ‘Current pandemic policy and protocols are out of date’ in which I asked the government to consider published research findings from Thailand, Qatar and Iceland. I also requested that vaccination status be included on death certificates to aid research. In her reply, Dr Verill noted that the government has now ended the Covid-19 Protection Framework and added: ‘While New Zealand watches closely how other countries are dealing with the response to Covid-19, it is important that we make our own decision when it comes to how we manage the virus, as many factors determine our response, such as vaccination rates, community transmission, and the pressures on our health system.’

UN claims climate catastrophe now almost unavoidable

Three — count ’em, three — new reports from the United Nations claim that the planet is in dire, imminent danger because the nations of the world are not adequately mobilizing against climate change. According to the reports, countries are neither creating sufficient plans to reduce warming nor acting on them quickly enough, even as global greenhouse gas emissions are on the rise, thus putting the planet on track to experience nearly 3 degrees Celsius of warming within less than 80 years.

The year of the femcel

Why are women struggling to find sex and love?

You may have already forgotten, but 2022 is supposed to be the year of the femcel. In case you have forgotten or never knew, a femcel is the female counterpart to an “incel”, or involuntarily celibate male, a woman who can’t find a partner because she is (again, supposedly) too ugly and/or weird. These women had to form their own team because they weren’t welcome in the largely online gatherings of deeply aggrieved guys who (I suppose) couldn’t accept their shy female counterparts because: 1) they are really pissed at/estranged from women generally, 2) incel sites are places where men can vent about women with mind-crushing hostility, which could be awkward if they were co-ed, and 3) incels mostly don’t believe it’s even possible that a female can’t get sex if she wants it.

Exploding the myth of wartime stiff upper lip

Trauma of fighting in the Second World War remains a peculiar taboo because its heroism is so woven into our identity

… Some of the first SAS soldiers, notably Lieutenant Blair “Paddy” Mayne, were recruited precisely because they were unstable, unruly and prone to extreme violence. Mayne’s behaviour was sometimes close to psychotic. Several of the early SAS recruits exhibited increasing irrationality and symptoms of mental illness, as the strain of a particularly brutal form of warfare took a toll.

What the rise of fascism really looks like

100 years ago, Mussolini‘s violent, youthful movement came to power.

In late October 1922, Benito Mussolini’s National Fascist Party assumed power in Italy. Understanding the rise of fascism 100 years ago, and what it meant, remains more important than ever. Not, as is the fashion today, to highlight the supposed parallels between its rise and that of populism – but to show how very different fascism was to all that is damned and demonised in its name today.

Woke Wisconsin students eat Christian’s Bible outside screening of Matt Walsh’s transgender documentary ‘What is a Woman?’

Progressive pro-transgender protesters were observed outside a college speaking event this week shouting down a young man reading passages from his Bible before grabbing the book from him, ripping it up and eating its pages.

Conservative commentator Matt Walsh had been on the University of Madison, Wisconsin campus for a screening of his controversial film ‘What is a Woman?’ when he encountered a hoard of screeching students.

In a shocking video posted by the Young America’s Foundation, a student with a shock of bright red hair can be seen shoving pages from a torn up Bible in her mouth.

In a deserted courtroom, the grim details of the Nice atrocity go mostly unnoticed

In Paris, a trial is taking place concerning the 14 July 2016 attack in Nice when a man drove a truck into a crowd of families attending a firework display. The three-month trial, due to end in early December, is of eight associates of Mohamed Lahouaiej-Bouhlel accused of assisting him in the attack, when a 19-tonne cargo truck was deliberately driven into people celebrating Bastille Day on the Promenade des Anglais. A total of 86 people were killed, including 15 children. More than 450 were injured. You’d think it would be a big deal. You would be wrong.

I’ve been reporting on the trial for the French satirical magazine Charlie Hebdo. In the church-like Palais de Justice, where the public can watch the trial on large screens, the average attendance is around six. One afternoon there were only two of us, me and a sweet-faced old lady whispering a melancholy but urgent commentary to herself.

White Girls: The Victims the Left Ignore

The brutal murder of 12-year-old Lola Daviet is so heinous a crime, I wish I could spare you the details. But I cannot, as to ignore their evil would dishonour her memory. Lola’s body was discovered on the 14th of October 2022, in a suitcase in the 19th arrondissement of Paris. She was raped, tortured, and had her throat slashed by Dahbia Benkired, an Algerian national who outstayed her visa, and was in the country illegally.

Traditionally, journalists have always had the same approach to scandalous stories such as this: if it bleeds, it leads. But the modern media are more discerning when it comes to crime; they are determined to ensure that two major factors are in order before they get excited: first, that the victim is not white, and second, that the perpetrator is white. ‘Racial justice’ is a billion dollar industry, and if you want to sell a story, it’s imperative to identify a narrative for which the market has an appetite.

HARBIDGE: Did you even know what batteries cost for electric cars?

“I just read an article where two Canadian car owners were in need of new batteries for their electric vehicles. One was fully electric, the other was a hybrid. The full EV required $23,000 worth of battery replacements after only four years. The hybrid owner required $20,000 for his battery replacements. The EV owner had no choice: Either replace the batteries or stop driving the vehicle. The hybrid owner on the other hand was able to decline the battery replacements and simply motor along using the gasoline portion of his vehicle making his hybrid simply a gas powered unit.”

Canada’s Liberals are an empire in decline with a leader in trouble

Under Justin Trudeau, the Liberals have lost many of the values and stabilizing influences that kept his predecessors connected to Canadians

Here’s a conundrum or a contradiction: Canada’s Liberal Party has won three elections in a row, yet it has been in long-term decline for some decades.
For much of the 20th century, the Liberals were the world’s most successful democratic party, winning more elections and staying in power longer than any other. They were “Canada’s natural governing party.” And yet, the Liberals retained power in the last election with the smallest share of the popular vote for a “winning” party in Canadian history. Polls taken since the last election, for what they are worth, show little movement in the Liberals’ favour despite tens of billions of dollars spent during the pandemic and a subsequent summer showering the country with announcements of fresh spending.

No-show Joe: Biden leaves Trudeau, Canada hanging

OTTAWA, Ont. — Antony Blinken touched down in Ottawa Thursday, confirming that VIP U.S. government aircrafts are, in fact, capable of landing in Canada.

At least the secretary of State showed up. That’s more than can be said of his boss, President Joe Biden, who has yet to set foot in Canada — the United States’ top trading partner — since taking office. And there’s no sign of a presidential trip anytime soon.

No one can be bothered wasting time on Junior not even dementia Joe. Biden probably thinks Canada is in Mexico anyway.
