KRAYDEN: With the Emergencies Act Inquiry, the jig is up for Justin Trudeau

With the Emergencies Act Inquiry, the jig is up for Justin Trudeau and time is running out for the prime minister.

At least as far as the truth is concerned.

We will soon know Trudeau was very well acquainted with the facts of the Freedom Convoy, but he chose to assiduously ignore them and distort reality to his own political ends.

The evidence already points this way.

Iran privately menaces EU capitals against sanctions

In a letter to EU diplomats, Tehran claims ‘bilateral relations may not survive’ as the EU moves to penalize Iran for killing protesters.

VIENNA/BRUSSELS/BERLIN/PARIS — Iran this week privately pressured EU diplomats to abandon sanctions against Tehran over its lethal crackdown on protesters, warning diplomats the move may rupture Europe’s ties to the country.

“If Europe misses taking the nuances of the current situation into consideration, the ramification will be grave and the bilateral relations may not survive it,” warned one letter — sent to a group of EU ambassadors and seen by POLITICO — which details an alternate, Tehran-friendly narrative disconnected from numerous reports coming out of Iran.

A nation that sends threatening letters is not likely to care much about Justin’s windbaggery.

Canada to designate Iranian regime as serial human rights violator: ministers

The government of Canada is using a “powerful and sparingly” used provision to designate the entirety of the Iranian regime as an entity that is a “serial violator of human rights” and one that commits acts of terror, federal cabinet ministers announced Thursday.

Man charged with hate-motivated criminal harassment directed at Russian Calgarians

A Calgary man has been charged with multiple counts of criminal harassment after the CPS hate crime team investigated a number of threats that were found to be hate-motivated.

Police said it is believed the church was targeted because of its Russian heritage and have deemed the threats to be hate-motivated, a news release said Thursday.

Ivison: Trudeau has high bar to meet to justify use of Emergencies Act’s extraordinary powers

OTTAWA — The national inquiry into the invocation of the Emergencies Act, in the wake of the truckers’ convoy occupation of downtown Ottawa, is going to be used as a political bullhorn for all kinds of individuals and groups who have been granted standing.

He can’t. He’s a compulsive liar. But it’s not as if he’ll be punished for it.

Emergencies Act wasn’t needed to deal with ‘Freedom Convoy’ protests, OPP says as public inquiry begins

OTTAWA—The Ontario Provincial Police joined some provinces, civil liberties groups and so-called “Freedom Convoy” protesters Thursday in saying it was unnecessary for the federal government to use the Emergencies Act to deal with last winter’s crisis of demonstrations and blockades.

Lawyers for the Alberta and Saskatchewan governments claimed their provinces were blindsided on Feb. 14 when Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called the premiers to say Ottawa was considering the never-before-used law to quash the protests — a controversial decision announced later that same day.

Jamaica broadcasting regulator bans music and TV deemed to glorify crime

Jamaica’s broadcasting regulator has banned music and TV broadcasts deemed to glorify or promote criminal activity, violence, drug use, scamming and weapons.

The government has said the ban is meant to cut back on material that “could give the wrong impression that criminality is an accepted feature of Jamaican culture and society”.

Trudeau Trails Tory Leader as Most Trusted Inflation Fighter

Polling by Nanos Research Group for Bloomberg News shows 30% of Canadians rank Poilievre as the leader most trusted to reduce inflation, compared with 22% for Trudeau and 10% for Jagmeet Singh of the left-leaning New Democratic Party.

Poilievre’s lead illustrates the extent to which the Conservative chief has been able to distinguish himself on the issue, focusing on cost of living during his campaign for the party leadership and hammering both the prime minister and central bank on it.

‘I didn’t know what was allowed in Britain’

A ‘monster’ Pakistani businessman who sexually assaulted a woman in a hotel room before claiming ‘I didn’t know what was allowed here in Britain’ has been jailed.

Umair Farooq, 42, let himself into a hotel room in Llangollen, Denbighshire, where a woman was asleep before ‘quite cynically’ taking advantage of her on May 27 earlier this year.

Mold Crown Court today heard how the victim had left the key in the door, before waking up to find Farooq had entered her room.

Liberals keep ‘putting names’ on sanctions lists, with no backup or transparency, critics say

OTTAWA — Canada has announced sanctions on more foreign nationals than ever as part of its foreign policy, but the government is leaving unanswered basic questions about how those sanctions are actually working.

The Liberal government has issued list after list of new financial sanctions in response to Russia’s February invasion of Ukraine, totalling nearly 1,500 Russians, Ukrainians and Belarussians. What’s not known is how many of those individuals have actually had their money frozen, had money in Canada in the first place, or even why those specific individuals were chosen to be on the sanctions list, say critics.

The Trudeau government is performative bullshit.

Here are the key arguments presented on the first day of the Emergencies Act inquiry

The Public Order Emergency Commission’s public hearings into the federal government’s use of the Emergencies Act last winter kicked off on Oct. 13 with introductory remarks from various parties who have been granted standing in the proceedings, allowing all sides to essentially make their opening arguments.

From federal officials outlining why they think the national inquiry into the government’s invocation of unprecedented powers through the Emergencies Act will conclude that its use was warranted, to lawyers for the central ‘Freedom Convoy’ protest organizers arguing that the government exceeded its jurisdiction, here are the key positions presented on day one by central players in the commission

The real reason Biden is escalating America’s involvement in the Russia-Ukraine war

(Conservative Treehouse) – In a statement Monday from the White House, President Joe Biden pledged “to continue providing Ukraine with the support needed to defend itself, including advanced air defense systems.”

The statement was a result of a phone call between Biden and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Two days prior, the Kerch Strait bridge between Russia and Crimea was bombed by Ukraine causing a section of the bridge to collapse. Yesterday, Russian President Vladimir Putin retaliated with missile strikes against several cities in Ukraine and key infrastructure for energy.

Who Is Leading the Crackdown on Iran’s Protests?

They show up at the first signs of protest in Iran — men in black, riding motorcycles, often wielding guns, or batons.

They are members of what’s known as the Basij, paramilitary volunteers who are fiercely loyal to the Islamic Republic. The shock troops of the ayatollahs have taken on a leading role in quashing dissent for more than two decades.

During the latest protests, which erupted after a young woman died in the custody of the country’s morality police last month, the Basij (ba-SEEJ’) have deployed in major cities, attacking and detaining protesters, who in many cases have fought back.

Severely Abused in D.C. Jail, Jan. 6 Prisoners Ask for Transfer to Guantanamo

Is this America? Gateway Pundit recently published a letter to Gestapo chief Merrick Garland from 34 of the prisoners who are being held under inhuman conditions in the District of Columbia Jail because of their role in the Jan. 6 “insurrection.” But can these unfortunate prisoners really expect any justice from Garland, a rabid partisan and sinister authoritarian who has sicced the FBI on parents protesting the woke agenda at school board meetings? He is virtually certain to ignore the letter and allow the heartless treatment it describes to continue. In reading their description of their treatment, the question is inescapable: How can this be happening in what was once known as the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave?

What our progressive overclass has wrought

Confident and schooled in self-esteem, they seek to redeem the unredeemable

Progressives at the zenith of privilege and power have steered US civil rights, education, and welfare policies almost exclusively for fifty years. What does the nation have to show for it?

Recent answers include federalized transgender protections, academic collapse, and the expansion of a dependent, often disreputable underclass for whom permanent government-based custodial care is the only feasible option. Food Stamps, Medicaid, Section Eight, and other public income support evidently sap incentive and enterprise, but what’s the alternative now for the structurally unemployable?

The ‘vaccine’ that never protected us – and they knew it

ANYONE who really follows the science knows by now that the Covid-19 ‘vaccine’ not only has no efficacy but negative efficacy as more studies confirm that the jab does more harm than good. They also will be aware of the cumulative and frightening evidence of unprecedented vaccine injury that the mainstream media remain determinedly blind to, but which we (TCW) have been analysing and reporting each time the updated Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency watchdog (MHRA) Yellow Card data is published.
