Trudeau ignores Canada’s powerful oil and gas resources

Mark Twain famously said, “Truth is stranger than fiction.” Seldom have those words been more clearly illustrated than by the West’s attempt to rid the world of fossil fuels.

In a supreme irony, the location of the first gathering aimed at that goal took place in the country now suffering the worst consequences of that virtually impossible objective. On March 1, 1995, the first United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP 1) took place in Berlin. Thus began Germany’s regrettable journey toward trying to become “carbon-free.”

In reversal of policy, adviser says Danielle Smith’s sovereignty act would respect Supreme Court decisions

The top adviser to incoming Alberta premier Danielle Smith says her proposed sovereignty act would respect Supreme Court of Canada decisions — a reversal of her core policy promise on how she would challenge Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s government.

Rob Anderson, Smith’s campaign chair for the United Conservative Party leadership and now executive director of her transition team, told CBC in a story published Saturday that Smith’s proposed sovereignty act won’t empower Alberta to disregard Supreme Court rulings.

But Anderson promised that the act, which has yet to be drafted, would “have a whole head of very sharp teeth” and “change the dynamic” with Trudeau’s Liberal government.

How many voted  for just that policy? Just another bullshit politician.

Fears of new invasion as Putin and Lukashenko to form joint task force on Ukraine border

Vladimir Putin and Alexander Lukashenko, the Belarusian president, have agreed to form a joint group of troops on the Ukrainian border, amid fears of a new ground invasion of Kyiv.

Alexander Lukashenko told a security meeting he and the Russian president last weekend agreed to bring their troops together “due to tensions on the western border” of Belarus.

The strongman president’s comments came just a few hours after Ukrainian cities suffered a devastating barrage of strikes, with the capital Kyiv bombed for the first time since the spring as Russia sought to retaliate after an apparent attack on the bridge linking Russia with Crimea.

Waukesha Christmas parade killer Darrell Brooks apologizes to families of his victims for his erratic behavior in court

The man who allegedly ploughed through the crowd at a Wisconsin Christmas parade, killing six people, apologized to the victims’ families and the court for his erratic behavior in the courtroom last week.

Darrell Brooks, 40, was thrown from the courtroom on Thursday after repeated interruptions, outbursts, and a spat with the judge – only to appear shirtless while livestreaming in from a sperate room.

But on Monday, a different Darrell Brooks appeared in court. This one had ditched the jailhouse orange and was fully dressed in a suit, with a a mask properly secured over his face, and kept a calm demeanor as he gave his apology, admitting: ‘I wasn’t raised that way.’

Sweden Nixes Russian Participation In Nord Stream Gas Pipeline Leak Investigation

Sweden has said it will not allow Moscow to participate in its ongoing investigation into the causes of multiple leaks in underwater pipelines transporting Russian natural gas to Europe.

Swedish Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson said on October 10 that while Russia would not be allowed to join the investigation, Stockholm would invite a joint EU probe and Moscow was free to carry out its own inspections of the Nord Stream 1 and 2 pipelines.

“In Sweden, preliminary investigations are confidential, and this is of course also true in this case,” Andersson told reporters.

Can the FBI’s Reputation Sink Any Lower?

Attention will be on Igor Danchenko this week, but he’s not the one who should be nervous.

This week Department of Justice (DOJ) Special Counsel John Durham will begin presenting evidence in the trial of Igor Danchenko, the serial liar whom the FBI used as its “source” to justify spying on the Trump campaign. Durham has already made a bombshell disclosure that the FBI secretly put Danchenko on the bureau’s payroll despite knowing that the information he fed them was fabricated. There is much speculation that more evidence of the bureau’s misconduct will be revealed as the Danchenko trial unfolds.

The State of Dreams

… The great westward drive that began with Lewis and Clark has been steadily rolling backward. Southern California is filled with moving trucks headed to Arizona, Texas and Nevada. Those who can afford it, fly to Florida. The Russians were here once and then the Spanish. The American presence in California was more comprehensive and lasted longer, but may one day leave sagging Wells Fargo banks and decrepit mini malls filled with sushi places and nail salons the way the Spanish left their missions.

The Hate-Crime Distraction – Activists’ insistence that whites commit most anti-Asian hate crimes is a transparent attempt to obscure.

Viral videos of senseless violence have captured public attention since crime began rising in 2020. Some of the most extreme examples are attacks against Asian-Americans. Earlier this year, for instance, three teens and an 11-year-old, all black, beat and kicked in the head a 70-year-old woman in San Francisco. Yet many academics, advocates, and reporters argue that these cases leave a false impression. “While news reports and social media have perpetuated the idea that anti-Asian violence is committed mostly by people of color,” reported NBC News last year, “a new analysis shows the majority of attackers are white.” Unfortunately, the crime against 70-year-old Mrs. Ren is representative in many ways.

The Media’s ‘Far-Right’ Obsession

Research shows the media is far more concerned about right-wing extremism than its left-wing counterpart.

Giorgia Meloni’s recent victory in the Italian national election prompted an outburst of references to far-right political extremism in American and European news media. Given the challenge of establishing a politically neutral reference point for determining precisely what counts as political extremism, it is natural to wonder whether media outlets are equally likely to denounce ideological extremism from the left as from the right. Our recent research shows that when it comes to calling out political extremism, media figures are much more likely to decry political extremism from the right than from the left. We have the data to prove it.

Joe Biden made tearful voicemail plea to Hunter who was having a crack-fueled meltdown when he illegally bought a gun

Joe Biden knew about Hunter’s drug-fueled meltdown at the time his son bought a gun and lied about being a drug user on the sworn purchase form, a voicemail from the president to his son reveals.

Biden sounds close to tears in the voicemail left on Hunter’s abandoned laptop on October 15 – three days after Hunter bought the gun and lied about being a drug addict – begging him to get help.

‘It’s Dad. I called to tell you I love you. I love you more than the whole world pal,’ Joe said in the October 15 message. ‘You gotta get some help. I know you don’t know what to do, I don’t either.’

The Anti-White Lie Behind Multiculturalism

Like America, Canada is a nation comprised of people from around the world. And like America—perhaps even more than America—Canada is wearing racial blindfolds that make the government incapable of seeing that, just as “people of color” represent many different races, lands, and cultures, the same is true for “pale faced” people. This blindness erases Canada’s rich ethnic history.

As an anthropologist who spent 17 years living and working in Sub-Saharan Africa, where Black lives really matter and where everyone belongs to a tribe with which they identify, it pains me that I must explain to fellow Canadians (and Americans) that pale-faced people are not all the same. Are they just one thing — that is, one ethnic group in contrast to the myriad of “others”? No.
